I have a decent UO today: I got burned out on reading reviews of baby things and finally just started picking the most expensive option for the last few items. Husband has not figured me out yet.
I know in labor some women want a mirror so they can see what is going on down there, and more power to you if you do... but I have no desire to see. I'd prefer blissful ignorance, please.
This UO brought to you by one of my Bradley required reading books, which contains several very graphic pictures that have officially scarred me for life. I cannot unsee that.

I'm with you on that one! If they show a birth video in our birth class I'm probably going to be with dads and looking away. I get that it's natural and in some ways a beautiful thing but it also makes me sick to my stomach and dizzy so I'll let the doctors handle the stuff down there and cuddle the baby afterwards. I can't watch stuff like that or surgeries or really gross torture scenes in movies. DH knows this and will tell me when it's safe to look again without me even asking.

I don't know if this is a UO, or a FFFC, or just a sad-sack moment:
After this election, I am actually sort of dreading my baby shower. I have lots of conservative family members, and I feel so angry and sad right now that it's harder to ignore some of cruel, sh*tty things I know they think. I want to be happy and grateful for all the love they're showing this baby, but right now I kind of want to kick a lot of people in the shins. And then take home their generous gift.

My SIL was probing about how much I wanted to stick to my registry, because she wanted to get me a monogrammed diaper bag instead of the backpack we registered for. It's a baby boy, not a 2010 frat girl.
@MoonOverGoldsboro my 20th bday was just a few weeks after 9/11 and my dude at the time took me to a B&B for a weekend. Every single breakfast was people talking about killing arabs. It was the worst weekend.
+ 1 to no mirrors in the delivery room. I also hate the idea of videos or pictures during the delivery whether it be vaginal or c-section. It creeps me out.

@Lafreeman21 that is hilarious! I love monograms (like I would monogram our sheets, towels, everything) but my husband can't stand them so I don't have many (just on a bag or two and guest soaps).

Oh god, what a nightmare. I hope the next four years aren't going to to be a really, really extended version of that weekend.

My uo is coming from the random thread. Jimmy Johns is a waste of money and I don't understand how people love their subs. The sandwich is literally all bread.

Their bread is great though... I have so bought just their bread and have munched on that.
On Monday, I was all prepared for my Thursday UO. It was: If I hear the "Go Cubs Go" song one more time, I will go insane!
However, ever since Tuesday's election, I haven't heard it once. Kind of sad. Now I wish Trump never won and I could go back to hearing that obnoxious but harmless song everywhere I go. Be careful what you wish for?
Guys, I've seen a lot of births. I love being at births. It is awesome and inspiring and there is really a magic in the air watching it all unfold. That being said, oh hellz noe I don't want to see my own child's birth or touch the head or any of that ish.

I have one more. .. I'm so sick of people telling me in regards to the election that I'll "be fine" and "say a prayer, don't worry about it." That's like the most useless advice you could give somebody. "Well gee! Thank you for the reassurance! I just needed to hear it from your lips that I have nothing to worry about!" And these are idiots within my family.
UO: I actually think it would be really cool to see the birth as it happens. If I'm able to get my VBAC, I'd love to be able to help pull him out and I'm requesting a mirror.
But it's very, very hard to gross me out. I'm not sure if DS has helped desensitize me in various areas of boogers, puke, drool, poop, etc. but it doesn't phase me anymore.

I love Jimmy Johns bc they deliver to my office or I can walk there in less than 10 minutes. Agreed, they arent a great sandwich but their pickles are amazing.
My UO (also from Randoms) is that I hate runny eggs. Whenever I see something on the food network where they boil and egg and the yolk runs over it makes me want to gag. grosss gross gross. I eat all my eggs cooked hard.
@PerraSucia I live somewhere where popular fashion is nonexistent. I went to high school where people wore camo tuxedos and dresses to prom. Literally.
If MK is out, I'll need some pointers! I don't have much to work with here!

I pretty much only eat eggs scrambled with cheddar. Other things in it are A-OK, but if they aren't scrambled and they don't have cheddar- fuh-get about it.

Hard yolk eggs make me gag! Also the thought of eating an egg cold (like in a salad or a sandwich) makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
My UO is that I don't like "brelfies" I am all for freeing the nipple and being comfortable breastfeeding anywhere and everywhere. And maybe even one or two photos for yourself so you'll have the memory. But I don't see the point in posting a picture to fb/insta of you breastfeeding your child every. single. day. We get it, you breastfeed, we believe you. You don't have to show social media every time you do.

Opposite UO - I've been craving an over-easy egg like none other... My ideal breakfast is some sort of veggie & meat hash with an egg plopped on top. Or, enchiladas with an egg. Or, pasta and sauce with an egg. You get the idea: an over-easy egg can make anything breakfast. My instagram is probably 1/10th pictures of something with an egg on it. I may have an unnecessarily passionate opinion on this topic.
I've been craving eggs big time too @MLRocha. My confession is that I'm not worried at all about having them runny. I learned that runny eggs aren't considered a toxoplasmosis or listeria risk, so I don't lose sleep over that at all. I even ate some cookie dough when I made cookies the other day. That I felt a little guilty about but all was fine.

OH MY GOD, the pickles. I love them so. Such good crunch! And I actually think the vegetarian sub, with hot peppers, is a legit delicious sandwich. The lunch meat ones never appealed to me too much.

I totally agree, it grosses me out. Granted I don't like eggs prepared in any way.
Last week this thread kept going for days so I yanked "Thursday" from the title.
I love Dr. Holly. In another lifetime I watched Dance Moms and tweeted something and she retweeted. Proudest moment of my life. (Kidding) (Kind of)
In another lifetime, I tweeted Dr. Holly and she got mad and blocked me. Whoops.
What did you tweet!?
The proudest moment of my H's life is when he was retweeted by Questlove. The birth of our son might top it. Maybe.
It really wasn't a big deal, it was in the series of episodes where Abby had put together a Junior Select Team and the Elite team lost to the select team and were all pretty much in tears and Holly yelled at them to stop crying and then called Maddie at specifically and yelled "Maddie stop crying." So I tweeted "How come it's okay for you to yell at the kids, but not for Abby to yell at them?" And she blocked me. Whoops.
