Well, I guess my UO (or maybe FFFC) is that I see no problem with sharing pictures of my kids on Facebook. I share pictures of them all the time!! (Nothing that would embarrass them when they're older, just cute/fun things that they do.)
@bacorrea@RainyDays86 I hate to say I have a jumpy excited dog. He is only a little over a year, and we adopted him in December. We've come really far for sure, but he is still a puppy. I do hold him when people come in and he will calm down, but he's just too excited.
I guess I lose points because I post pictures of DD, we did a Facebook announcement, and we use a hashtag for her. But can I have some back since she's still rear facing and is over 2 1/2?
Both my girls have been FF for awhile. The oldest is 5, and still in a 5 point harness. shortly after she turned a year old, we had to switch her because she got HORRENDOUSLY carsick. We couldn't even go down the street. The youngest made it to about 20 months before the same issues became too much of a problem. I would have loved to keep them RF longer, but it was just too hard. They will be in 5 point harnesses as long as possible though
@Squirtgun, I used to feel that way too, until a friend of mine had photos of her son (2 yo) copied/stolen by a woman in India. The woman was using the son's photos as her own profile photo, and sending messages to my friend saying things like "your son is so cute. I have his photos and there's nothing you can do". Made my profile Super private after that.
@lrwardrop - I'm with you! My 15 month old is rear facing, as well. He's in the 98th percentile for height, so I keep getting friendly "suggestions" that it's time to turn him around (especially from a friend whose son is 1 month older. She's in that "turned him around as soon as he turned 1" club). My pediatrician told me that even for a taller child, rear facing is still the way to go. He can fold his legs and be at less of a risk for injury than front facing. I don't get the fascination with rushing them forward.
(Yes, I'm a day late...work has been crazy-town, but I'm trying to stay active in the group!) Echoing the above, I also do not understand the rush to flip your kid front facing in the car. Unless they get horrible car sickness, keep them rear facing for as long as humanly possible.
Similarly, I do not understand the rush to transition from crib to toddler bed. The crib keeps my 2 year old son so contained...I'm dreading the transition and won't do it until I absolutely have to. Even though that means I will now be buying a second crib for baby girl.
I really get annoyed at people who give their kids a hashtag, and then use it in every single Facebook post!
Same! I hate fb in general. Definitely in the minority I'm sure but I rarely post pics of my kids. It's their face and I feel weird about plastering them all over the internet. I totally get why people do, it's just not my style. Also can't stand when mom's post every single activity all the time. Like we get that you are social and have such a fun life. Enough already! Although, full disclosure, I always like those posts I hate anyway to cover up my scroge-ness. I know I'm weird.
I totally agree with the ladies who aren't into Facebook pregnancy announcements and sharenting (posting pics of your kids on facebook all.the.time). I'm "friends" with some folks who definitely don't need to know I'm pregnant or know anything about my kid.
@JonesBaby0624, yes! She messaged and tried to friend request another mutual friend of ours too. She had his photo as her cover photo and profile pic. Then she started getting mad that some of us reported her profile, and started cussing out my friend (via Pm) in her native language (my friend used a translation app to see what was being said to her).
Her friends were commenting on the photos saying "what a cute baby!" But not questioning who the kid was/what relation.. creepy doesn't even begin to cover it.
Totally late, bbtw wanted to add that my July '13 3 year old is still happily rear facing. we have to turn him very soon because he's getting too tall. DH wanted to turn him a while ago and I said ""no! As soon as we turn him we have to stop eating McDonald's unless we buy him some because he'll know we're eating!". That sold DH. In all seriousness , he likes it and doesn't know there's another option and we will keep it that way until the bitter end.

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
My 2 year old is still rear facing in his car seat. Everyone wants me to turn him around, but he doesn't seem to mind and it's so much safer.
We turned my daughter around at 3 because she nearly reached the limit in mh's car seat, and finally started complaining about it in mine. Before that, she was happy and safe, and stayed RF even though people gave us a hard time.

It's weird how much other people care if your kid is extended rf. I used to get comments a lot when my tall three almost four year old was rf.
But I guess there are a lot of baby raising related things people feel comfortable judging in general. For example my mom just could not get behind "back to sleep" because that's not how they did it back in the olden days. It was so annoying. I also had a lady tell me in target once that my baby was too young for target lol.
For real. We took DD to Target the day after she was born. Too young... Maybe if you accidentally gave birth in the dressing room or something.
