@lulu1180 So I very much do NOT want to overstep here and if you don't want my unsolicited advice just ignore me. But. Your charts look extremely suspicious to me. Obviously everyone is different and all that good stuff, but having only one day of bleeding? That's extremely unusual. Having a 15 day cycle is extremely unusual (and TBH I'm not sure that cycle even looks ovulatory). If you did in fact ovulate on CD7 then I would question if that egg was released prematurely and therefore not a viable egg. I do NOT want to pointlessly scare you, but if those were my charts I would get my ass into the OB to get some blood work done. I hope I am wrong and everything is totally fine and that you get KU. ETA: I noticed that you spot a ton before your period. That's how I was too - it was my first indication that something wasn't right.
@BertieMeetsGertie girl I am so sorry. I feel you so hard. With my super pretty chart last month I REALLY thought it was going to be my month. I'm not temping at all this cycle but if i do again in the future I wont test after confirming ovulation. Those damn temps just end up stressing us out!
Month/Cycle: 8/8

GTKY?: What was the best concert you ever attended?
Eesh I have a tie. One was a really chill outdoor concert from the Avett Brothers a few years ago in this grassy amphitheater at nighttime. They are amazing musicians and it was amazing to sit in the grass, drink a beer, and enjoy it. But also I went to see Pretty Lights at Red Rocks in Colorado and that was just... an insane experience.
@antoto I really appreciate your advice!! I have often wondered of the fact that I generally O on the early side could be a detriment to me getting KU. Last cycle was horrible for me and I actually spotted to some degree the entire time. As far as this cycle goes, CD -1 was heavy spotting but was enough to fill a tampon overnight so I was a little torn on which day to call CD1. Thankfully I have an annual appointment on Thursday and I plan on discussing TTC with her and my cycles in general (especially the last one) and seeing what she says. I will take any and all advice from anyone as I appreciate brutal honesty much more than pretty lies.

I would ask for a full fertility blood panel (ETA it has to be on CD3 so it will be next cycle). And if your insurance is good/ you have the money to spare I would ask to get an ultrasound done during your fertile week. If all of that comes back normal than maybe it's all fine - but if you really are spotting all month long that would be truly surprising to me. If anything looks weird then get a referral to the RE. Don't accept treatment from the OB.

I don't usually spot all month long but that last 15 day cycle was constant spotting to some degree. I do, however, tend to spot at least a little for about a week before AF starts. I started to worry about it after the second cycle tracking CM. I know my insurance doesn't cover infertility in general (big surprise, I know) but I'm not sure what tests it will cover. And when I try to find something on the company's website to see if it will be covered, I have difficulty locating the information I'm looking for. I'm really hoping to get some answers on Thursday either way.

@lulu1180, not to butt into your conversation, but on the back of your insurance ID card there is a support line- you can call that line and specifically ask which tests are covered. I know it's a pain in the ass to spend some time on the phone with insurance companies, but they will be able to tell you a plain yes or no what is covered under your specific policy and what is not.
They can also give you a list of in-network RE's and OBGYN's if you need that information as well. I work in insurance and wanted to pass that along in case you weren't aware.

Yours might be like mine where it covers diagnostics, but not treatment. So I paid almost nothing for bloodwork and ultrasounds, but now that I need treatment I'm 100% on my own. Don't bother trying to decode the website, just ask the billing people at your OB office to find out for you. Please update after your appointment - I'm crossing my fingers that all is well, but also that you can get some testing done to know for sure.

@sheknows6 Thank you so much for the information! I was going to wait until after my appointment before contacting them to see what is recommended by my OB so I'm not just calling asking about infertility tests in general. I will gladly spend as much time as needed on the phone to get answers and thankfully my boss is amazingly understanding and as long as I'm getting my work done, he wouldn't care if I took time to call while at work. Also, butt away!! I will gladly take anyone and everyone's advice into account.

@lulu1180 that's a great idea I am always amazed at how difficult the companies make it to find out what you need to know with your benefits, but every company is required to list a customer support number on those ID cards- ask them anything your OB suggests, and keep them on the line as long as you need.
They can also give you or start your prior authorization if you need it for any specific tests or procedures. Hopefully you won't need any of it but just in case its good to know
@lulu1180 I just had an early cycle ultrasound. If your doctor bills it as dysmenhorrea/polymenhorrea/etc. rather than family planning, it will be covered by insurance. They can do this even if you discovered it while ttc because what you are describing is definitely period trouble. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
Fwiw my insurance is the same way so I had my gyno do my cd3 and 7dpo bloodwork plus my ultrasound. She also gave me a referral for my husband to do an SA. If we find something, I'll go to an RE, but starting with my gyno has saved us hundreds of dollars.
@RunRestRepeat I stop taking them after I get my first negative. I asked the other day and people responded that they still HIO on their first negative, which would probably be a +1.

@lulu1180: I just hope that if I'm having trouble with this that I'll have the same support- you ladies all really try to help each other and give real support and that's what's up
@bumpybump I feel you on the post AF spotting. Weirdest thing just happened to me. Finished AF 2 days ago, went to the bathroom this morning, and a big *TMI* clot fell out of me, along with a lot of dark blood. Hoping it was just a leftover from AF. I'm spotting red now when I wipe, and wondering if I actually need a tampon This has never happened to me before.
@RunRestRepeat I stop OPKs after the first negative but I have really regular cycles and don't really worry about gearing up and not Oing (which may or may not come back to bite me)
@swimsister I'm totes jelly of your no strings attached concert!!
Thanks to all of you lovely ladies. This day truly is trying for me (and work issues coupled with AF is just cruel) but I absolutely feel the love from you all!
@antoto would you mind sharing what your gyn said your issue was (if you're comfortable doing so!) I'm not sure I know.
@lulu1180 girl I'm sorry you are dealing with all of that! I have an appointment with my gyn in a week or so and need to discuss my spotting issues. I'm thinking it's a progesterone issue but who knows.

@BertieMeetsGertie I have non insulin resistant PCOS. The midwives picked up on it when I went in for my more -than-usual spotting and they did CD3 bloodwork and an ultrasound. Bloodwork showed high testosterone and my ultrasound showed 15+ cysts in each ovary and no mature follicles despite my positive LH tests and my biphasic BBT charts. They referred me to the RE who did a repeat of all the tests (with some extra thrown in there) and he confirmed the diagnosis.
@antoto I'm so sorry that you are dealing with that, but I'm glad that you were referred to the right place and are getting the treatment that you need.

WAYDTGKU: pnv, opk, charting temps and cm, b complex, day 3 and 7dpo testing for short LP
R/R: I feel really stressed this cycle and it's making me want exactly zero to do with sex. I need to get it together before I get a +OPK. I'm not a fake it 'til you make it kind of girl.
CS/Q: Nah, my temps are pretty flat before O.
GTKY?: What was the best concert you ever attended? Britney Spears. I've never felt older, but man it was fun.
WAYDTGKU: Nothing at the moment, fuck all the things
R/R: Well it's officially been 1 year since I got my first post partum period. CD 1 this month was shitty AF but I got right on the phone and rescheduled that blood work I had cancelled back in August. As much as I don't want to admit I may need medical intervention, there's no more denying it. I'm having the blood work done at my OB office to check for Progesterone and FSH. He wants to check it CD 16 and then 2 days after my temp spike. I think to be "sure" I'm Oing when my charts say.. Ok doc. I know they don't get charting so I'm just waiting for him to agree with me that no, I don't O on CD 14 and yes, I do know exactly when I O. Then we can move along and hopefully have a game plan. I'm thinking I definitely need LP support, it's hardly ever longer than 9 days. Let the fun begin...
CS/Q: Nah
GTKY?: What was the best concert you ever attended? Tie between Pink and Coldplay, both were AMAZING!
@hqinmd I haven't read the comics either but DH loves reading them so I get to listen to his rants about them now and then. Thankfully as MH loves Star Wars, I won't have any issues getting him to go see Rogue One. But if I were in your shoes, I'd probably pick Rogue One as well. It looks like it'll be really good to see in theaters.
@lulu1180 if your GYN needs to do tests and insurance wont cover it, if you talk to your GYN about how insurance wont pay for certain things but will for others, they often will try to work with you by manipulating the billing system so it looks like its for issues as opposed to fertility stuff

@kiwi2628 No, never got a call. I was pretty miffed but now that I'm at this conference and presenting tomorrow morning I'm glad not to hear if it's bad news. I'm going to call the office on Monday...
@travelingcouple Sorry to hear, but good for you being so proactive!
@sheknows6 It was such an amazing performance - I'd love to see him again! @juneroseruby and @hqinmd Thanks! That's what I thought, but it's my first time using opks so I wanted to be sure. I'll probably HIO today just in case (thinking today is 1DPO). @lulu1180 I'm so sorry you are going through all of this - I hope you get answers soon!
So I took a quick peruse through the thread and see all this great input for @lulu1180 I agree with what's been said and I would keep HIO in the meantime just in case!
@antoto so that is something your doc caught when you made an appointment for spotting? I was wondering about the IUI based on month/cycle trying but I didn't know much about your background/history. I noticed the feedback you gave to @lulu1180 and I also have really light periods. I would say I have 2 days of using a tampon even though it's on the border of spotting and then one spotting day and that's pretty much it. I've never talked to my doc about it but now have been thinking about it more as of lately. My LP is usually between 11-14 days which is good but didn't know if light periods were a concern.
@beachbunnyxo123 I don't think just light periods are necessarily a cause for concern. It's concerning when you bleed for two straight weeks out of your cycle. I mentioned lulu's one day period only because it's in conjunction with a lot of other strange things. I think a 2-3 day period is probably totally normal for lots of women. I don't think I would go in for testing if that were the only thing going on.
I just love the info and help in this thread today. It's just so nice to remember that we have such an awesome group always willing to provide support and advice.
@Nikkiandchris I love Britney!! I really want to go to her Vegas show.
@littlebug2010 I'm sorry to hear your flu shot had some bad side effects but your post reminded me I need to get one! How did it get to be November already?!

@TravelingCouple sorry your doctor doesn't trust your data. That would piss me off. @darkrose88 I'm so excited for Rogue One I can't even. @nikkiandchris I may have danced in the back of the theater at the end of Crossroads...
@adirat I rarely see anyone mention Jimmy Eat World. I used to love them back in my college days.
@GeorgiaWife6912 I also saw Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church when they were popular but still new. Maybe we were at the same concerts because they were while I was in Georgia. Well, Luke Bryan was in Mississippi. I’ve met both Bryan and Church.
@JuneRoseRuby gosh I would have loved to see Blink 182 back in the day. I was obsessed with them in high school/early college. I still like their music and would totally go to one of their concerts now.
@BertieMeetsGertie so sorry your body isn’t being kind and you’re having a bad day
@lulu1180 I think my spotting has stopped after this morning. So my fingers are crossed there. And yeah, I listen to every kind of music so I’m all over the place. LOL.
@FLAshley I LOL’d at your GTKY. No shame in not always having an answer for them. Everyone is uniquely them!
@RunRestRepeat I stop taking OPKs once I get a negative.
@ohemgee yeah, I’m hating all this spotting but I think it finally stopped. I hope yours goes away too!
@TravelingCouple sorry for hitting a year. I hope you’ll get some helpful answers after your blood work.

@purplg8r Did he cover you in sweat?!? My dad was always a huge fan so I remember seeing concerts on TV from when I was just little and I was always just horrified about how much sweat he would fling around! It's like the splash zone!
@lulu1180 I'm glad to see that you have an appointment coming up. I hope that your doctor is receptive and is willing to work with you to either get you some reassurance or to figure out what's up and help you fix it. Sorry your insurance is confusing. Actually that all insurance is so confusing.
@Buthayna I still think that CD 19 holds promise. Hope you get confirmation in the morning!
@GeorgiaWife6912 I'm so sorry you spilled it BEFORE you had even dipped your OPK. I managed to bump mine and splash the other morning and was just thinking that I should not be trusted with cups of urine at 6 in the morning. So that night I had a dream that I had roommates and managed to spill a cup of pee everywhere and hadn't noticed until they got mad at me about it. TTC. Fun times.
@JuneRoseRuby I would have LOVED to go to a Blink 182 or Green Day concert!
@BertieMeetsGertie So sorry for your CD 1 and nasty drink. Hope that tonight is better.
@JulesDP Mumford and Sons would be awesome. Now I feel the need to put on that Pandora station.
@darkrose88 It's really hard for us to book concerts, too. We just don't get MH's schedule early enough and he's still pretty junior so it's hard to choose days to have off.
@littlebug2010 Sorry for the 1-2 of AF and flu shot. Ugh. Bruno Mars is a heck of an entertainer. I would love to see him in concert!
@nikkiandchris One word: Preseed. It's a huge help. Then there's no pressure for me to get into it enough that my body is sufficiently into it so I can just relax and focus on enjoying it.
@TravelingCouple Sorry to hear that you're at this point but I'm glad that you're being proactive. It's the first step and maybe they'll have some easy fixes for you. FX!

CD: 13
WAYDTGKU: pnv, opk, charting temps and cm, b complex, day 3 and 7dpo testing for short LP
R/R: I feel really stressed this cycle and it's making me want exactly zero to do with sex. I need to get it together before I get a +OPK. I'm not a fake it 'til you make it kind of girl.
CS/Q: Nah, my temps are pretty flat before O.
Month/Cycle: 12/13
CD: 3
CS/Q: Nah
Tie between Pink and Coldplay, both were AMAZING!
@adirat did you ever hear from your doctor?
@lulu1180 if your GYN needs to do tests and insurance wont cover it, if you talk to your GYN about how insurance wont pay for certain things but will for others, they often will try to work with you by manipulating the billing system so it looks like its for issues as opposed to fertility stuff

@travelingcouple Sorry to hear, but good for you being so proactive!

CS/Q: none
Dave Matthews!! I try to see him every year!
@Nikkiandchris I love Britney!! I really want to go to her Vegas show.
@laeberge3 FX for O soon!
@littlebug2010 I'm sorry to hear your flu shot had some bad side effects but your post reminded me I need to get one! How did it get to be November already?!
Month/cycle: 6/5

WAYDTGKU:
R/R: I THINK I might have O'd but of course my past two temps are unreliable for various reasons. We will see what tomorrow's temp is I guess.
GTKY: Justin Timberlake hands down. I went 3 times.

@RunRestRepeat Yay cycle buddy!! FX!
FX!
