So I'm going to AW for a second lol. I had a friend ask me if I could try making a costume for her 6 month old. This is the first thing I've sewn in a year. It took me three days when a good seamstress could probably make it in one. I made a lot of mistakes (my zipper especially is a little rough looking lol) and looking up close you can definitely tell its homemade but I got it done and I feel so proud!
I used a free tutorial from www.makeit-loveit.com. She makes THE BEST tutorials. Any other novice (or seasoned!) sewers should check her out.
@ceclarlinetlo super super cute I love it. My friend who found out she is due in May and it's still a secret is doing the skeleton with the baby in it I am just excited to be able to talk about it!!!
@ceclarlinetlo, that is so cute. I think you did a great job! I know how to sew and can really appreciate the work you put in. Probably would have taken me 3 days, too.
I finished my costume tonight -- it was pretty low effort overall. Just bought a maternity tank from Target and some sticky-backed felt sheets in red and white and ordered some random fake plastic chain off Amazon:
haha.
Considering it took 15 minutes to put together, I'll consider it a victory (though I secretly wish my bump were more round and full so it looked less awkward, but whatever)
Aww! I'm bummed. I ordered a shirt from Amazon (skeleton with skeleton baby inside) and it arrived today, but the printing is messed up. It was my plan to wear it to school/work Monday to show my students... and when trick-or-treating with my nephew. I guess I still will wear it, but I'm bummed. I got it from Amazon and they said they'd send me an new one free of charge, but it won't get here until Tuesday/Wednesday.
