I'm a little bummed that today doesn't really feel like Halloween (my favorite holiday). Our city does "Beggar's Night" so all trick-or-treating happens on Oct. 30. We had a blast handing out candy last night, but today doesn't feel very special...
CS/Q: Not that I can think of!
GTKY: what was your favourite hallowe'en cosume that you've ever worn? (pics if you want!) Awe man, this is tough! My dad was insanely creative and hand made every costume I had as a kid. I think my most favorite was when I was a monarch butterfly - he crafted the wings from coat hangers and orange tights. I actually still have the wings for a hopeful future kiddo costume!
@laurad75 My fingers are crossed so hard for you. Given that we're both LOR and AMA, I'm also very interested in your experience with IUI. XOXO to you today!
@Dilynne I had a PCP who blamed every issue I had on my weight. He was such a dick. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Definitely find someone better if you can. R/R: I've been trying to figure out what has been making my backpack smell nasty. I carry my lunch, planner, and snacks in it every day. I finally found something in one of the weird pockets I never use. After some puzzling over what it could be, I realized it used to be a Kraft Single, but now was a brown, nasty, stinky mess. I can't stop smelling it now.
GTKY: I don't dress up much, but I just remembered that last year at work, we had a thing where you dressed up as your favorite professional. I dressed up as OH, who is in construction. I wore one of his old hardhats and safety vests, with jeans, boots, and a polo. It was very easy and comfy, LOL.

@RunRestRepeat I hate when they switch Beggar's night to other nights! It takes away from that special feeling of Halloween.

@Ohemgee I’m not sure that it matters WHERE
you are keeping your thermometer as long as you keep it in the same place all
cycle long. (I keep mine on my nightstand.)
I’m back from a short bump
hiatus! See spoiler box in R/R for the dear diary!
Cycles/Month: 7/5
CD: 5
WAYDTGKU: BD EOD, temping, checking CM
and CP, PNVs, green tea, CoQ10, magnesium, limiting caffeine
R/R: I got EWCM last night and
today. Like copious amounts of it. Like way more than I think I’ve ever observed
for myself. This is waaaaay exciting for
me!
I took a short hiatus from TB last
week. I was having a tough time amid a
very wonky cycle. The whole thing
started last Sunday evening on the car ride home from my in-laws. It was the whole conversation of how hard it
is to countenance how God can bless a drug addict that is living on the street
with children yet the two of us who truly want children and can provide a good
home for them have yet to conceive. In
the middle of this, I had a cycle that was 15 days (yes, you read that right)
and was spotting throughout the entire time.
I was feeling very down and looking at the grad thread and seeing so
many people who had been trying for half the time that I have or less was
putting me in a really bad place. I called the doctor’s office about my last
cycle and was told that even though I’m not due for a PAP that she still likes
to do an annual pelvic and breast exam so I made that appointment and will
discuss my last cycle with her and when we should start seeking medical
assistance for TTC. Unfortunately, the
nurse that I spoke to seemed completely dismissive of the concerns I had about
my own body but I think the doctor will be much more attentive when I meet with
her. Finally, I realized that I was doing exactly
what I’ve told others not to do. I was
putting parts of my life on hold because I was thinking that I was going to be
KU any day now. I had started getting
back into running and then stopped because I read something that said starting
vigorous exercise could be bad while TTC.
I put aside healthy eating habits partially out of stress and partially
because it didn’t matter because I was totally going to be KTFU every single
cycle. So I’ve come back here because you are all
amazing women and I love the support that I get here. I may not be quite as active as I was and I
may go through short periods where I don’t post every day but I will most
likely still do some minimal lurking and cheering all of you on from the sidelines!
CS/Q: not much to see yet this cycle, just waiting for O in a few days
GTKY: I’ve never really dressed up as an adult and
I don’t remember most of my costumes as a kid.
I do remember one year my mom dressed up as a flapper for work. She made her own dress and everything!

WAYDTGKU: Starting (monitored w/ RE) Femara this cycle. This is the first cycle in like 2 years that I will not be temping. This is awesome. I'll still use OPKs if I don't use a trigger though.
R/R: I'm feeling hopeful that Femara will be what I needed. But it's also pretty disappointing when you look at the numbers. You would think being on a fertility drug like Femara raises your chances to be really high. It doesn't. Best case scenario I only have a 15% chance of it working this month. That's assuming every single thing goes perfectly. It's hard to not read that to be "there's a 85% chance this will not work".

@lulu1180 All the creepy internet hugs to you! I wondered where you had gone, but totally get your need to do so. I hope that you get some answers and a path forward. You've been missed around here!
@lulu1180 You aren't alone in your frustrations. I often have a hard time looking at the grad thread because most of the girls have been lucky within the first few months, and here I am twiddling my thumbs in this weird in between phase of its almost 11 months we've been TTC but its not yet been a year, so I shouldn't make my RE appointment, and I feel like my Gyn didn't take my concerns about abnormal cycles seriously and sort of brushed them off saying come back when it has been a year. So I completely understand your frustration! I felt like I needed a day break after a lot of the drama last week because that's not what I come here for. I came to connect to people about TTC and find out more about it. So I hope you can get that from the group too. Creepy internet hugs. Welcome back!

@purplg8r On the Mucinex, buy name brand. Lots of things it doesn't matter but when I've been using it for its intended purpose, it's way better than store brand. I would start taking it daily probably in the days when you have wet CM so that it's already in there working to help with EWCM. And if you do the get the cold, this may go without saying, but forego the Sudafed since it can dry you out. @KhRun17 I feel you on the darkness. It makes it so much harder to get up! @laurad75 Good luck at your IUI!!! @hartmich and @purplg8r I've decided that it's kind of nice to have a later O since this is the part of the cycle that's most optimistic. @JuneRoseRuby Make sure to check the fridge section where they have all the pre-cut fruit for pineapple. At the grocery store I go to I can buy a whole pineapple or one that has already had the outsides sliced off for the same price. So I just buy that core chunk, cut it into five and then pull out a slice each day to take to work. As for the makeup... I might get there but honestly, I wear so little of it (as in mascara a couple times a week) that I'm letting it slide for now. I will keep an eye out for those kids if I do switch! @sheknows6 Temping during AF is a personal thing. I don't feel like I get helpful data from it so I just skip and start up around CD 4 or 5. @ohemgee I keep it on my nightstand on top of my phone so when the alarm goes off, I can't forget to temp. @furbabymom2007 Yay! So happy that you have some good-looking follicles! @ahrains Good luck tomorrow morning! I hope it all goes smoothly and you treat yourself afterwards! @LuND Someone else I know mentioned that she would often get three lh surges a cycle with the first two being apparently just for fun and the third one was the one that meant business. @Dilynne You absolutely should report him. If not for you, so that maybe he will be better to the next person. He was absolutely completely out of line. How's your foot? @lulu1180 Welcome back.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance that he really was a giant dick.
@kiki75 My foot hurts like a mother today. When they were doing xrays I had to contort it weirdly. I should know by Wednesday what's up.
@lulu1180 I feel you completely. There was a grad thread recently where it seemed like literally everyone was pregnant in the first 3 months of trying and here we are over here, patiently waiting for some bloody miracle. Creepy internet hugs and know that if you (or anyone else) wants to vent, send me a PM and I will always respond with creepy internet hugs and internet tequila.
@RunRestRepeat Thank you! It's nice to know my absence was noticed.
@JuneRoseRuby@Dilynne Thanks ladies! I never thought I would be one to obsess over TTC like this and (obviously) never thought I would have to consider medical intervention to get pregnant. You ladies just help to show exactly why I came back. The support here is always so amazing and I would miss it if I had chosen not to come back. Fx so hard for everyone here that we all get BFPs soon!

@Aurora1973 The procedure was totally manageable and it felt similar to the HSG. On Saturday morning I went in for bw and an us. I had 5 follicles and one of them was a good mature size (21). I did the trigger Saturday night (way easier than I had anticipated) and scheduled the IUI for this afternoon. H dropped off his 'stuff' early this morning and went in later so I could take a half day from work. My acupuncture place is in the same building so I went in for a 20 min session right before and right after. Right now I feel a little crampy but nothing painful.
I know to keep my expectations in check but I'm hopeful this cycle. We will continue to HIO at least until I get the temp spike and it was recommended that we do not BD on Saturday or Sunday because an orgasm might mess up implantation (technical term).

@Kiki75 thanks for the advice! I *think* I'm starting to get watery CM (although I still struggle with it) so I'll go get some tomorrow!
@laurad75 that is crazy that an orgasm can mess up implantation. That had never crossed my mind
Littler nerdy science for you all. Well the reason for the male orgasm has always been obvious, but the reason behind the female orgasm has always been mysterious. Current science suggests that the female orgasm originally occurred to assist with ovulation. So now I currently think that an orgasm pops out an egg! Talk about BSC

I honestly hate sex/oral in TWW partly for this reason lol I tried googling before and it seems inconclusive for female orgasm. Since I don't orgasm from penetration it's not a huge deal for me since it seems intercourse is fine but I still worry cuz I'm super paranoid lol eta: some even say it's good because of increased blood flow to uterus and that progesterone somehow prevents uterine contractions?! I dunno, I'm going to keep looking lol (obviously medical interventions are different and I'd never ignore or imply someone should ignore medical advice, if that was unclear...just looking for my sanity ) https://www.fertilityafter40.com/can-i-have-sex--orgasm-during-implantation-or-during-the-ldquotwo-week-waitrdquo.html

Thanks for the input and good luck to everyone who had procedures today. I read and sent many love tits, but I am too tired to reply to others posts right now. I was crying my eyes out in my boss's office for an hour after work today. Part of it was her being disorganized and unfair and part of it was hormones. I get upset and cry way more easily than normal during TWW (still waiting on cross hairs) and combine that with occasional sleep deprivation / crappy sleep during this time. Probably a Monday Bitchfest post, but IDGAF right now. Maybe I'll explain tomorrow. I'm just hoping I'll end up being KU and able to blame this all on that.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Waiiiiit wait wait @laurad75 was it your RE who told you that about orgasming?? I don't believe an orgasm actually causes the uterus to contract or anything so I'm not sure how that could possibly be a problem. Anyone have an actual source on this? I am cautiously and respectfully calling bullshit on this.
@antoto it was the nurse who did my IUI not the doctor.
She didn't say 'absolutely don't have sex', it was more she suggested that to be super safe I skip sat/sun bc that when implantation would probably be and if an orgasm caused a contraction it could cause a problem. Gosh, I'm so sorry. If I knew it would stress everyone out I would have requested more specific details. Also, the only reason she mentioned it was because I asked if sex tonight/ tomorrow is ok (yes) which prompted the conversation. It's not like she handed me instructions that said don't have sex on certain days.

Big hugs to you!

GTKY: what was your favourite hallowe'en cosume that you've ever worn? (pics if you want!)
My grandma made me a princess costume when I was a child for Halloween. It had one of those cloth hats and everything. I was so in love with it I wore it all the time, even after Halloween.

@laurad75 Good luck with your IUI today!
@Ohemgee I’m not sure that it matters WHERE you are keeping your thermometer as long as you keep it in the same place all cycle long. (I keep mine on my nightstand.)
@Meg920 I love your Frappuccino!
@LuND I’m with you, I hate messenger/ group messages. People seem to have no common courtesy in situations like that.
@Dilynne Who doesn’t give kids candy at Halloween?
I’m back from a short bump hiatus! See spoiler box in R/R for the dear diary!
Cycles/Month: 7/5

WAYDTGKU: BD EOD, temping, checking CM and CP, PNVs, green tea, CoQ10, magnesium, limiting caffeine
R/R: I got EWCM last night and today. Like copious amounts of it. Like way more than I think I’ve ever observed for myself. This is waaaaay exciting for me!
I called the doctor’s office about my last cycle and was told that even though I’m not due for a PAP that she still likes to do an annual pelvic and breast exam so I made that appointment and will discuss my last cycle with her and when we should start seeking medical assistance for TTC. Unfortunately, the nurse that I spoke to seemed completely dismissive of the concerns I had about my own body but I think the doctor will be much more attentive when I meet with her.
Finally, I realized that I was doing exactly what I’ve told others not to do. I was putting parts of my life on hold because I was thinking that I was going to be KU any day now. I had started getting back into running and then stopped because I read something that said starting vigorous exercise could be bad while TTC. I put aside healthy eating habits partially out of stress and partially because it didn’t matter because I was totally going to be KTFU every single cycle.
So I’ve come back here because you are all amazing women and I love the support that I get here. I may not be quite as active as I was and I may go through short periods where I don’t post every day but I will most likely still do some minimal lurking and cheering all of you on from the sidelines!
CS/Q: not much to see yet this cycle, just waiting for O in a few days
GTKY: I’ve never really dressed up as an adult and I don’t remember most of my costumes as a kid.

@JuneRoseRuby @Dilynne Thanks ladies!

Littler nerdy science for you all. Well the reason for the male orgasm has always been obvious, but the reason behind the female orgasm has always been mysterious. Current science suggests that the female orgasm originally occurred to assist with ovulation. So now I currently think that an orgasm pops out an egg! Talk about BSC

but now I'm scared to orgasm during the TWW....
I honestly hate sex/oral in TWW partly for this reason lol I tried googling before and it seems inconclusive for female orgasm. Since I don't orgasm from penetration it's not a huge deal for me since it seems intercourse is fine but I still worry cuz I'm super paranoid lol
eta: some even say it's good because of increased blood flow to uterus and that progesterone somehow prevents uterine contractions?! I dunno, I'm going to keep looking lol (obviously medical interventions are different and I'd never ignore or imply someone should ignore medical advice, if that was unclear...just looking for my sanity )
