GTKY: What hilarious thing did you believe when you were a child?
I thought that that since your underarms were called armpits, the back of your knees were called knee pits. It is still a common term among my siblings.
sorry I missed the 1st couple check-ins! Introduce yourself if you haven't yet. Hey ladies! My name is Stephanie, I'm 29 and I'm living in the Nashville area. Had a M/C back in January at 8 weeks... really hoping this one sticks!
How far along are you? According to my LMP I am supposed to be 8w1d today, but I measured exactly 2 weeks behind at my last u/s. (Hoping that's because I ovulated later in my cycle). So going with the measurement, I am 6w 1d today!
How are you doing? I am terrified and excited at the same time. Terrified that this will end the same as before, excited that I still am pregnant. Hoping that I won't be as terrified once I hear the heartbeat.
When is your next appointment? Nov. 9th @ 1:50! Lol
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: The constant feeling of hunger and exhaustion is making me feel super lazy. Lol
GTKY: What hilarious thing did you believe when you were a child? My older cousin had me convinced that vampires were real- so for the longest time I would sleep with my covers all the way up to my chin... because you know they can't get you if your neck is covered! Lmao
@JAGinMI@halfthetree I agree. The recent losses on the board has been a bit of a wake up call that I am definitely not in the clear yet despite a good first US... really have my fingers crossed for all of us June 17' ladies.
Me: 28 DH: 30
Married 5/8/2011 TTC #1 since 9/2015 BFP #1 1/14/16, MC 3/23/16 BFP #2 9/21/2016, EDD 5/30/2017
I got mixed news at today's ultrasound. I should have been 7 weeks exactly based on FF's estimate from my chart. 6w6d if you go off my LMP/when we had sex. Got my positive at what I thought was 12dpo which is later than in any of my other pregnancies. But the baby only measured 6w2d. 4-5 days behind doesn't seem to terribly off but it's not reassuring. There was a 101 HB detected which is in normal range for 6w2d, but a bit slow if I'm where I thought I was and not strong enough to be majorly reassuring (if it had been 120's at least I think I'd feel better). I want to cry. I was hoping for better news.
@thankfully Sorry about your appt but that's great news you got to see/hear baby's heartbeat!! I do understand - we didn't get anything from our first ultrasound, second ultrasound got EDD that was 5 days off at least but still no heart beat yet ... it's hard but hang in there!!! You are still here and it sounds like maybe the dates are off! The great news is getting a heartbeat is a big step!!! Do you have another appt coming up? Thinking of you and FX for good news!
I have been quiet the past couple of days-just feeling off. Last night I had some spotting and that sent me into the immediate thought of loss. Called my doctor this morning and they squeezed me in this afternoon. They found a subchorionic hemorrhage, and I'm just hoping my body absorbs it. The great news is that, even though we could not see a babe, my sac was measuring perfectly with my first HCG results on October 3rd until now. Life is great and I'm ecstatic to see a yolk sac!
@HookEmNelson ahh so glad they were able to squeeze you in today! Spotting is so scary but glad they found a reason and your measuring right on time! Glad everything went well today - thinking of you this weekend for a calm, uneventful weekend!
Well ladies, I'm shocked and excited to say I'm back. We went in this afternoon for a follow up ultrasound to confirm that the sac was empty and immediately saw a baby measuring 7 weeks with a heart rate of 169. The doctor had given us a 5% chance of this not being a blighted ovum because my hcg levels were 55,500 and there was nothing there. I just ended up being about a week behind, so my new due date is June 13th. I've been lurking and rooting for everyone!

How far along are you? 6w6d
How are you doing? Quite frankly, I feel awful. Horrendous, unstoppable nausea from 7 am, when I wake up to pee, until I pass out from exhaustion. No foods sound good, everything makes me feel shitty, and I always think I'm about to puke. They also moved my due date back based on my ultrasound, which means my ticker moved back, too. 9 days extra is too many.
When is your next appointment? Mid November
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I feel sooo sick. I am planning on telling my coworkers tomorrow. Otherwise they're going to think I have a version of the flu and try to send me home. BUT I had a great transvaginal ultrasound with a healthy looking baby and heart.
GTKY: What hilarious thing did you believe when you were a child? I can't think of anything hilarious...
@MKRLTX - so happy for you! That must have been such a wonderful surprise.
@thankfully, I also am a few days off - early on, I think it's just so hard to tell what's going on. Hang in there! When is your next appointment?
@c1tym0m22 I had to do some research, because in successful pregnancies I've measure off by a day or two early on, but when I m/c I was off by more than a week and the dates made no sense at all. I'm 4-5 days off so right in the middle. The u/s was done at an imaging center so I haven't talked to my MW yet. My next appt is Nov 23 so I'm going to have to call and see what they think next week. Another scan in a week or two would probably make things clearer.
Maybe I was relying too much on my chart, which had me conceiving on O+1 (Clear temp shift and we didn't have sex the rest of the cycle so I know that date) but the chart EDD was based on actual O date. Since I tested + on the "later" side for me, 12DPO, and I know I had negative tests at 8DPO and 10DPO, a later implantation seems very possible. My previous pregnancies were + at 10, 10, 8, and 8DPO. I went off to search the literature and there is a journal article that found a baby's estimated gestational age is consistent with implantation rather than LMP or even conception date. I am hoping that this is the case rather than inaccurate measurements because the 101 HB lines up perfectly with the 6w2d baby they measured. Time will tell. I imagine anyone reading this brain dump would say I'm overthinking this like crazy and to just be happy there was a HB!
For anyone interested, the article is titled "Impact of ovulation and implantation timing on first-trimester crown-rump length and gestational age" in the journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Introduce yourself if you haven't yet. Hi. Long time lurker on many of these boards, but this thread is the first time I've felt comfortable posting. I'm so sorry we have all had losses in the past but grateful to have found such an understanding and supportive group of ladies! Early this year I had a MMC followed immediately by an ectopic. When we were ready again, went back to temping and trying and here we are. If Whenthis rainbow comes, it will be our first child.
How far along are you? By LMP, 6w 1d (I tend to O around CD 17)
How are you doing? Trying to keep PGAL brain at bay. I feel like I can't trust my body any more and every day I'm questioning whether my symptoms are dissipating or not. Oh and I caught a cold, so I can't be sure if my upset stomach and tiredness is from the cold or pregnancy. But I'm working on the mantra/affirmation that @yolandamunoz posted, I love it!
When is your next appointment? Ultrasound on 11/7
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Rave: had an early appointment (new doc) at 5w 3day. They were just going to review history and send me for labs, but husband convinced them to do an in office ultrasound. It was early and not the clearest image but doc said it looked in my uterus - which helped my ectopic fears a bit! Then did blood after and 2 days later too. Found out yesterday hCG is doubling appropriately. Also progesterone looks good.
Small rant: I wish my ultrasound was sooner (like sometime this week) or that they would keep following hCG closely. I know my hCG is doubling right, but I'm scared and I worry that despite the doubling, my numbers might be low. Plus I can't cleanly observe my symptoms BC of this cold and I'm afraid they're going away.
Positive Vibes: Grateful to have found this weekly check-in. I'm not sure if/when I'll post in other threads/boards, but I would love to call this check-in home. Hoping we all get our rainbows this time around!
GTKY: What hilarious thing did you believe when you were little? I used to believe the watermelon seed growing in your stomach thing.
Oh I'm glad it's helping you @kitty21436 actually someone else at PGAL posted it and I found it so very helpful. I try to read it daily. Here is the whole text:
Today I am pregnant and I love my baby.
I am pregnant until someone tells me otherwise.
My past does not dictate my future. A previous m/c does not mean I will have another m/c.
Just because something sad is happening to another poster, does not mean it will happen to you. We all know m/c and complications are not contagious!
Hope does not make bad things happen. You cannot jinx your pregnancy by creating a ticker, getting excited, or telling someone. Live in the positive!
There is nothing I can do to prevent a m/c from happening. Worrying yourself sick doesn't prevent a m/c. And if (God forbid) it were to happen again, I know I will survive

SO symptoms coming and going... has anyone had success calming the brain and enjoying the good days? I'm on day 3 of barely any nausea, breasts are a lot less tender and I'm just losing my mind I'm going for weekly betas at this point, no early ultrasound but thinking of asking for one in a week so that I can chill the f out

I have my days where the nausea is not as prominent, but the exhaustion and tender breasts have yet to leave me alone. My poor DH has not gotten any love in at least a week because I don't have the energy for it lol.
