  • Has anyone ever suggested breaking the TWW and WTO threads into east coast and west coast versions?

By the time I get home from work everyone on the west coast is getting ready for bed and it makes it harder to participate.

Wait... what?  The west coast is the one that's behind on time.  Did you mean people on the east coast?

Also I think splitting it up wouldn't really solve anything?  Everyone just participates whenever they can.
  • @antoto - Sorry typo!! I meant east coast.
  • @antoto Thanks for clarifying - reading this discussion today has certainly helped me understand better how the board got to this point as well as some of the pros/cons of its structure for all the different women using it. It's also just interesting to think about some of the unintended consequences of the "rules" (namely, a potentially cold or unwelcoming culture as you pointed out). I hope I didn't offend at all - just wanted to offer my perspective on how much support I feel from this community (when in real life I feel pretty isolated in it all). But it sounds like there are other ways this board has been structured (or not!) that have worked well for others. Maybe my perspective was the UO of the day... Thanks again and sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding on my part.

  • @megzb510 thank you!   Good luck to you too!!!! Is this your first IVF round?
my Chicago RE is dr. Randy Morris (his office is called "IVF1").   I'm so nervous going to a new RE.   I saw Dr. Morris for an entire year while I went through my testing, monitored cycles, 3 IUIs, and finally IVF so it's very strange to be essentially starting over with a new RE
@tripledaggerWed95976 oh he has an office not far from where I live! I know it's hard to start over with a new doc when you are used to an old one. So are they shipping your frozen blastocyst?

  • @megzb510 omg do you live near his Naperville office? Because that's where I lived, that's actually the office I saw him at- I always just say Chicago because a lot of people who aren't from the area don't know where Naperville is. I lived on Washington and Bauer about 5 min from his Naperville office!
we actually are not shipping the embryo, I'm doing all of the stuff leading up to the transfer with the California RE and then flying out to Illinois for the week just to do the transfer.    And then I will do my beta and and follow up with the California RE.    It's going to be a little bit crazy lol!!
  • Oh wow that's close! I live in Joliet and actually delivered DS at Edward!

That's awesome that you can coordinate the transfer with prepping in California and then come to IL for the transfer. When is your transfer? Mine is 11/14. Are you going to rest in IL on the day of the transfer?

  • @megzb510 I delivered my son at Edward too!!! Such a small world!!
if all goes as planned my transfer will be early next year, we don't have an official date set yet.    I'm starting with the new RE now because I'm going to have to spread everything out because we can't afford to pay for everything all at once, we have to space things out as much as we possibly can.
we plan on flying out the day before the transfer and getting a good night sleep and then we will spend the next few days after the transfer just relaxing and then we will fly back.

thats SO exciting your transfer is coming up in a couple weeks!!!!!! How many embryos do u have? Or r u doing fresh transfer?
  • @megzb510 how exciting!!! My fingers and crossed for u!!!! Those numbers are fabulous! We only ended up with 4 fertilized, but luckily 2 made it to AA grade 5 day blasts.
I mobile bump, do u know am I able to receive PMs? I've never tried to PM before.   Hopefully I can because I would LOVE to know the outcome of your IVF!!! There's nothing better in my mind than IVF success stories!

**snip** I'm totally fine with women dressing up in skimpy stuff. I just wish that there were costumes for women that weren't skimpy. I don't want to be a slutty unicorn. I just want to be a unicorn. I really wish that there were better costume options for little girls. Especially since a good portion of the country is pretty dang cold by Halloween. I remember having snow for Halloween a number of times. Little dresses just aren't going to cut it for them.
    I love you.
  • Sorry guys, I feel off yesterday so I am late to the game. Not sure if you want to continue talking about this...

What if we added testing/diagnosis etc. stuff to the WTO/TWW threads? Would that encourage those who are going through that to participate more? Personally, I have gone through all the testing and found myself lurking hard on the TTGP IF weekly threads to learn. When we start out, no one knows how long we will be here or how long it will take to get KU. And I totally get what it feels like to see all your friends leave and be discouraged about continuing to post here. I almost threw in the towel last month. If that was part of the WTO/TWW culture, people who end up seeing an RE would have a better expectation of what that process is like. Thoughts?
  • @Saralee797 Hahaha. I actually had a unicorn costume when I was little that my mom made. It even had sparkly silver shoe covers and gloves. It was awesome.

  • @kiki75 I wish I had a picture but I was also a unicorn in preschool and my mom (graphic designer) painted my face and made the whole costume. It was epic. It was a drapey white dress and a cone on a headband with pompom streamers! Sounds like we had awesome moms.
  • @kiki75 @Saralee797 Target has a unicorn onesie. I may or may not have one.

  • I'm super late to the game, because I pretty much only lurk and post maybe once a week, if that. I echo what all my TTGPU friends have said. I don't have any ill feelings toward the board. RE:Board organization, for goodness sake, do what ya'll want. It's not "our" board anymore. We were here for a while and most moved on for various reasons. Board organization was never a reason we left anyway, though I will say, several of us were still participating here and there when the organization thread came up. But really, you guys do what you want, but please don't expect a mass conversion back. Almost everyone is KU by now (which is wonderful!) and most of us that aren't just can't do this anymore. It's nothing against the people here or the board. It's just... IF/RPL SUCKS. And we don't really "belong" here. Change the board as you see fit. It's really okay. But, just do it already. The constant talking about it is exhausting.

  • @Saralee797 I appreciate my mom more and more as I get older. Lots of things I kind of just thought, "Oh, thanks." as a kid and now that I see it as an adult...it's amazing.
