What # child will this be for you? This will be my 2nd - 5 year old son - 4th pregnancy
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? I'm doing alright. Thankful he's 5, and I feel comfortable napping while he destroys my house with all of the small toys scattered everywhere.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? I'm just dealing with PGAL brain and I am hyper aware of how I think I should feel. Definitely need to remember that every pregnancy is different.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? Date night with my hubs or girlfriends.
What # child will this be for you? 3rd (love to see all the 3rd timers)
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? Fine. I'm a parent who believes kids need to learn how to entertain themselves. I play some but like to see how they develop and problem solve by themselves. Plus, I nanny other kids that come over during the day so they entertain each other.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? Im tired earlier than usual, and sore boobs.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? I have a great group of friends that I get together with at least once a month. We almost always have one or two monthly events planned (not to mention some spontaneous nights) and travel some. We just got back from a 3 day get a way last weekend. I also read, run, and shop! And I LOVE wine!
How have you told children previously about your pregnancy or how do you plan to do it this time?
My boys are 3.5 yo and I was thinking of taking them to an ultrasound around Christmas time so they can see the baby and we may even find out the sex of the baby as well...
I didn't do any extra u/s with my first pregnancy but I think kids sometimes connect to things they can actually see/hear vs. just being told.
This is baby #4. I don't feel pregnant yet but this is the first pregnancy with breast pain. However I am still BFing my 1yr old. I enjoy laying on the couch and watching bravo And drinking wine.

@pghctwife@babytuck15I feel you on the reading. I have a book on my nightstand for like a year at a time now. I remember the days when I was going through a book a week! When I get bummed about that, I just remind myself that the days are long but the years are short and before I know it, I will be able to read as much as I want again. I just went on a girl's trip a few weeks ago, though, and I read a WHOLE BOOK in 4 days!!! It was amazing.
@jendink I don't know how you do it, working with kids all day being pregnant. I mean, I know that you just do because it's not like you can just quit now. But your exhaustion level at the end of the day has got to be ooc. I feel for you.

@michaela0704 we had a loss at 10w last time and found out when we went for our first u/s. We hadn't told our kids yet and that was THEE best decision. It was hard to not tell them over the weeks but I was so glad that we didn't have to break their little hearts. So, this time we will definitely wait until the first u/s (I will be 9w) and then decide. I am inclined to wait until Christmas as long as my belly isn't way too obvious. Maybe hang an extra stocking on Christmas eve and put some baby things in it like pacifiers and bibs and see how long it takes them to figure it out?

What # child will this be for you? This is number two!
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? I am doing okay. The biggest symptom I seem to have (both with this pregnancy and the last) is the utter exhaustion. I feel like I was hit by a bus and by about 2:00 PM I am usually convinced that there is no way I can make it through the rest of the day. I have a very busy, SPIRITED 14 month old who is hard for anyone to keep up with, but i don't get to spend as much time with him as I'd like due to work, etc. so I try to take advantage of the time I do get and have been able to put the exhaustion aside for the 2 hours I get to spend with him at night.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? It seems like I was having more symptoms by this point last time but maybe I just don't have a good recollection of the exact timing of everything last time. I'm a bit anxious because my doctor won't see me til I am about 10 weeks due to having a healthy pregnancy with no complications before. It seems like such a long time to wait without any testing to ensure that the pregnancy is viable in the first place.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? I coach high school volleyball, which is my favorite hobby, but we also like to play other sports together and my husband and I are part of a pretty large social group that remain very close and we enjoy getting in some "sans kid" time with them to play drinking/board games, etc.
@michaela0704, last time around we told DD1 pretty much immediately and talked with her a lot about it, took her to u/s, ect. She soooo didn't get what it all meant until DD2 arrived. (DD1was 3.5yo at the time.)
We haven't told either of the girls, yet. DD1 will totally understand and be thrilled but have no idea how long 9 months is; I'm not sure when we're going to tell her. I'm sure we can't put it off too long before someone talks about it in front of her. I assume DD2 is going to have no idea what's going on and will only copy the reactions of her big sister until the baby is actually here, at which point I expect her to flip her shit. (And not necessarily in a good way.)

This is us too. DD1 (10) and DD2 (6) understand what's happening, DD3 (2.5) gives no fucks and will likely flip shit when baby is here.
We've told them already, they cared for .5 seconds and we've moved on. I took DD1/DD2 to the u/s for DD3 and they didn't care as much as I had hoped, in fairness though I don't really see or understand what I'm looking at during u/s either.
Haha DD flips her shit when I even try to pick up my nephew, so I can't wait for her to realize she has to share me 24/7. I was an older sibling too and I DID NOT CARE FOR my sister being born, at all. It's going to be a fun time. DD will be just shy of 2 when #2 is born, so there's really no reason to even tell her what is going on, she won't understand any of it. My only goals are (1) to get her to fully wean before the third tri, and (2) to get her out of the nursery and into her big girl bed in her big girl bedroom sometime in May so that she doesn't immediately associate her move with the baby taking over her old bedroom. Might be nice to at least get started on potty training too...DH and SIL are 2 years and 3 days apart, so MIL had DH completely potty trained two months before SIL was born...and then he regressed whenever MIL was breastfeeding SIL and would sit in a corner and poop in his pants while staring at her. Which sounds hilarious from the outside, but I'm sure MIL wanted to kill him.
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? So far I haven't really had any real morning sickenss or any other symptoms besides sore boobs, but I'm still super early.

Oh yes, it is possible ....I never had any symptoms at all that I was aware of , until the day I saw my belly move; I was clueless. I was also I wasn't very in tune with my body. I lost about 60 pounds with M and my belly didn't really pop until about 35 weeks. No one even would have guessed and no one could tell including me. Glad I am more knowledgeable these days ...
**~Future Mama to my June "Sprout"~** EDD- 06/13/2017 **Stinkerbelle-8-27-10 * Mr.P's 2nd Mama 7-27-07**
My son will turn two in February and I doubt he'll really understand anything we tell him, but I'll probably buy him some books about being a big brother and start talking to him about it a little later into the pregnancy. I also want to move him into his new room and new bed around his second birthday. I'm not even thinking about potty training until he shows more signs of being ready, whenever that might be. TBH I would have liked them to be closer to 3 years apart for these types of logistical reasons, but you can't time these things exactly the way you want them!
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? I am exhausted! Functioning on very early dinner and bedtimes right now.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? The exhaustion, but I suppose I can blame that on the toddler. I also feel like the nausea started sooner but maybe I'm mis-remembering.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? Anything crafty. Binge watching Netflix with hubby. Wine with friends.

That is so crazy!! I can't imagine the shock! Is it not uncommon for you to go so long without periods, too? My period is like clockwork so I think that's also why it is so hard for me to imagine.

What # child will this be for you? baby #2! DD just turned 1 on the 12th.
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? Not so great- I'm a casual nurse so I work on call, mostly doing night shifts from 7pm-7am so that we don't need to find childcare short notice (husband has her overnight while I work, I have her during the day when he works) and I'm exhausted. First tri fatigue and morning sickness on top of working 4x 12hour night shifts a week are kicking my butt. Netflix has been my babysitter for the last couple weeks and I feel pretty terrible about it, but I just can't keep up right now! I just got off of maternity leave in August and need to gain my 600 hours to qualify for mat leave again. I'm almost halfway there so I'm picking up as many shifts as I can no matter how I'm feeling! At least DD doesn't mind the Netflix. I try to get her out to a playgroup once a week at least and do something fun everyday. She loves when I read her stories so we're on the rocking chair flipping through books for a good chunk of our day which is perfect.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? nope- had terrible morning sickness when I was pregnant with DD from 6-25 weeks! The only difference now is that I can't take a nap whenever I feel like it!
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? reading, painting furniture!
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? my son is a very active 14 month old, so far I've been very tired this pregnancy but not so bad
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? dealing with nausea; having insomnia early on; craving sweets instead of salty food like last pregnancy
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? date nights
Last time we told the kids (really just Henry who was 3) fairly early... just kinda told him. He wasn't too much of a telling riskthen, and I don't think a big thing would have resonated.
this time h is 5.5 and Isaac is almost 4. We aren't telling yet, I'd like to wait until we are ready to make it public because they'd may do it for us. I haven't decided how yet
some food for thought. First, most u/s don't allow kids in. Whihc I think is a good thing, and here's why:
*TW* When I was in 3rd grade my mom was pregnant with a baby sister. She brought me to her appt just after 20w... 24 or so. No hb on hte Doppler, u/s and babyhad passed. I actually do not remember any of that dayand blocked it out completely (other events surrounding her death I remember vividly). I know it sounds like a lovely thing to help your kids connect but I'd encourage you not to. I guess I was kinda messed up for a while from it.
I took my oldest to a routine appt late in my pregnancy last time when I was at a point where I felt the baby moving and kicking constantly so I wasn't worried about my son being there when we learned of a loss.
What # child will this be for you? #3, though fourth pregnancy, I was a surrogate the first time around.
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? I'm exhausted. I keep up with them fine until they go to bed at 7:15, then I'm pretty much useless.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? Nothing majorly different but the round ligament pain seems to have started earlier and is more painful.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? I don't know that I have a hobby these days, but I do enjoy playing cards or games.
@Jendink, I can't imagine spending the day with a bunch of four year olds, pregnant or not. I'm forever grateful for people like you that can handle it because it means my kids get great teachers.
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? My husband is a SAHD and is great at it, and has definitely been picking up my slack! The nausea is intense and I just have no energy.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? Lots more nausea. Some days a lot worse than others.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? Going to the movies with DH and out for a nice (quiet) dinner. Do those exist after kids?
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? Keeping up, only at the cost of my home, half gutted & now on hold bathroom reno (still havn't been able to pick out my tiles, vanity, etc), and & my social life. What social life?
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? The back pain was a killer, still there but I think I've become "used" to it
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? movie & dinner date w/ the hubs, HAha @MotherHen you took the words right out of my mouth
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children?

This is #2
I'm exhausted but still managing. She's not walking yet so for now I just crawl with her or lay on the floor while she crawls all over me. Nervous for when she starts walking to try to keep up with her.
Symptoms aren't too bad this time or maybe I'm too busy to notice. Having a hard time falling asleep even though I'm exhausted.
I feel like its been been ages since I've done anything sans kid but I love going to the beach. Which hasn't happened in over a year!
@Praying41 , I'm nervous about keeping up with my little one when she starts walking, too! But I'm also looking forward to it because my back is killing me from sitting/laying on the floor all day.

GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby?
date nights
this time h is 5.5 and Isaac is almost 4. We aren't telling yet, I'd like to wait until we are ready to make it public because they'd may do it for us. I haven't decided how yet
@michaela0704
some food for thought. First, most u/s don't allow kids in. Whihc I think is a good thing, and here's why:
*TW*
When I was in 3rd grade my mom was pregnant with a baby sister.
11/18/16 missed m/c 9w1
08/03/17 no hb 8w
How are you doing - keeping up with the other child/children? I'm exhausted. I keep up with them fine until they go to bed at 7:15, then I'm pretty much useless.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far?
Nothing majorly different but the round ligament pain seems to have started earlier and is more painful.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? I don't know that I have a hobby these days, but I do enjoy playing cards or games.
What # child will this be for you? 2

It's still early so exhaustion hasn't hit full force yet.
Anything majorly different this pregnancy so far? Everything the same except that at this point in my last pregnancy I didn't know I was pregnant.
GTKY - Whats your favorite sans kids hobby? I play semi-competitive dodgeball
