@SparkySunDevil : That actually IS pretty cool! For how long did you live there? Do you have an appreciation of the great outdoors nowadays or do you kind of despise Mother Nature for certain things?
My interesting fact is that I can say hello and good bye in Russian, French, Spanish, Hmong, German, Vienamese, Chinese, and Hebrew. I try to learn it in all of my students' languages as a way to help them feel comfortable as I greet them each day.

@sparkysundevil That is pretty awesome! I finally got to see Yosemite a couple years ago when I was like 7 months pregnant. Soooo glad I did it because I don't think I would have ever seen it otherwise, or at least not for a long time.
Mine is I can wiggle my ears without moving any other parts of my face. I remember a particular bumpie commented that it was an irrational fear? Whoever that was, I'll try not to do it around you!
This is sort of 'family related,' but it's my go-to tidbit about myself... I was adopted and have met and formed a relationship with my birth mother (who has two children now).
I grew up in Yosemite National Park. My dad was a National Park Ranger. That's the one thing I have that people are always like "whoa! thats so cool!"
Very cool! Did you have any fun/scary experiences with wildlife?
Well, yes....
i used to chase bears for fun. Like, I would hop on my bike and chase them out of the campgrounds haha. People think I'm nuts. I miss it!! My dad has been featured in National Geographic several times. He had a bear named for him. Her name is/was DeeDee. (Dans Dilemma). She was his problem child.
Someone asked if I have an appreciation for the great outdoors....I sure do!! I love being outside. I married into a family of hunters....we love to camp, hunt, fish, etc. I love spending my time out in the wilderness.
@KMD1106 that is a very cool idea. We don't have a huge amount of diversity in our community but we frequently have foreign exchange students. I would have loved to learn a little Norwegian.
@pshaortao that was me with the irrational fear. I actually cringed when I read that. Lol
I'm very boring in my little suburban life. The best I can do is....I've flown, literally, around the globe.
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
@KMD1106 I spent a summer teaching in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand right after I started teaching high school here. I left going east, through the east coast and France. I came home going through Japan and the West Coast. So...all the way around!
@RainyDays86 I can't burp either! It can be so frustrating. I've needed to burp for the last 3 weeks and spent 1/2 an hour in my office the other day trying to learn how off the Internet. I also found some interesting threads involving ppl with the same issue seeking a medical reason.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot yes! I've been on some of those same threads after my husband refused to believe that it was a real thing. But there are dozens of us! Dozens! (Arrested Development reference anyone?)
I was the first female wrestler to complete a season back in my middle school days. I was a purple belt and student martial arts instructor in high school. And I used to play the full drum set. I'm now not nearly as cool and those that didn't know me back in the day are totally floored, as those things are just totally not me anymore!

I was on Azteca TV in Mexico. They were doing a segment on people vacationing in Mexico over the holidays. I also had a minor role in a medical ethics video that was distributed to hospitals nationwide. Lastly I made the callbacks round for the Biggest Loser season 3, but didn't make it past that round.
@pshaortao I can wiggle my ears, too! I've been able to do it from a really early age. (Sorry, @JonesBaby0624!)
I don't know how interesting this is but the inside half of my Left eyebrow is pigmentless (my hair is naturally dark brown and these hairs are stark white). I noticed that it randomly wan't normal anymore one day in 8th grade and still have no clue why it's that way. I even tried to dye it with Just For Men in middle school because it embarrassed me, as did everything at that age. Now, I really like it and think it makes my face slightly more interesting to look at haha.
I used to be on a bowling league and I have a perfect score of 300. I have a fancy diamond ring they give out for it and a windbreaker they give out for it. I also had a 740 series that night and that means a really good night especially for a women. We play 3 games a night so it was 300 and 2 200 plus games. I also got a fancy wind breaker for that lol I used to imagine a night where I would wear my ring and my two windbreakers and come in to play and take them off all obnoxious like but I never did...
My little party tid bit about myself is I joke I was a Sports Illustrated centerfold. I cheerleaded for the UConn women's basketball team when I was in college and traveled with them to post season games (NCAA tournament). My senior year they won in St. Louis, and they always have a special Sports Illustrated for the winners, and the centerfold picture was the second after they won, and some of the cheerleaders, including myself were in the picture. My family, and my boyfriends family at the time bought so many, I still have a copy. I also got a National Championship ring from it, which I wore for years.
I also met Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio when I was ten, which was right after Titanic and Saving Private Ryan came out. My dad works for Francis Ford Coppola, and they were at his house looking at a script when we stopped by. We have pictures, and my smile is 3/4 of my face.
@KMD1106 - I think that I was about 23 when we met. For a long time, I had the idea that I didn't want to meet her, because I didn't want my (very) low expectations to be met. (Like if she was a crackhead or something...I was happy not knowing.)
When we met, her kids were youngish and - as she put it - still thought that you had to be married BEFORE you had a baby. Therefore, I was just introduced as a friend. I have seen them a handful of times and send gifts for holidays when I remember to. Eight(ish) years later, my identity has still not been revealed. This is a little strange to me, but it's not my place to spill the beans!
She was only 14 when she had me, and it was a very hush-hush situation with her family. She was sent away to have me, came home to find her family had moved to a new house, and has two siblings who don't even know she had a baby back then. Her parents never mentioned it after she got home. : /
My interesting fact is just about the most random thing ever. I don't even know how I discovered this, but I was very young. Anyway, as a child I could fit my whole fist in my mouth. Like almost to my wrist. Apparently I still can. Haha guess I've always had a big mouth.
I'm from Alaska. I don't find this overly interesting, but people I meet typically do. I had a Bonsai Tree in my locker in the 9th grade, just because.
Re: GTKY: Interesting Fact
My interesting fact is that I can only wink one eye (my left eye) and also I can't burp (never have, it just doesn't work).
