@WinchesterGirl love your hair like that! I usually buy throw pillows at Kohls or Target. Homegoods is also a good place to look since their selection is always changing. Some places change absurd amounts for a pillow so I'm still searching but I'm also debating making my own. I'll probably decide after I see what I can get on sale for Black Friday
@WinchesterGirl I think it looks really nice in that pic! I can't help if you want something different though bc my hair won't hold a curl to save my life.
@WinchesterGirl I think your hair looks so pretty like that! When I wear mine curly I usually run a product called "Hawaiian silky miracle worker 14 in 1" while it's still wet and it keeps away frizz and maintains and adds texture to curl without the sticky crunchy feeling gels and mousse give. I got mine from a local beauty supply place but I just checked and they have it on Amazon for about $10. It's a big bottle and it has lasted me a long time. Plus it smells really good lol
@homemake happy birthday! I hope you enjoy your day!

Thanks for all the pillow suggestions!! I've got some online shopping to do later!
@LivingLaVidaGinger Thank you! I will try that. My hair gets insanely frizzy if I just leave it, so I pretty much never leave it curly. I mostly end up with it in a ponytail, and other times I just straighten it.
Happy birthday @homemake! @WinchesterGirl Your hair is beautiful. I have naturally curly hair too, but my texture is different so I think what I do would be crazy for you. It includes brushing out before washing, then using a mountain of conditioner, then combing while conditioning, then rinsing carefully and not touching. Then drying with a t shirt. Then blow drying with diffuser with head hanging upside down. I use products called Deva Curl. Finally having to pineapple it at night. All of this and it still mostly looks like tumbleweed settled over my head.
Happy birthday @homemake hope youre enjoying your day!
@WinchesterGirl i am so jealous of your hair! I have ridiculously straight hair that even when i spend hours curling it, it will fall flat within an hour.

I'm taking a break for a second from the other thread lol... I have no experience with curly hair mine requires a ton of hairspray or a super awesome curler to even consider holding for 15 minutes lol but have you curly haired ladies tried to put oil in your hair? Like as it's 1/2 dry like yours @WinchesterGirl putting just a smidgen of argon oil?? My daughters hair is super long and thick, I put it in her hair right after she gets out if the shower, and it makes her hair amazingly soft and shiny. It won't get frizzy for days. (Yup, I don't try washing her hair more than once a week because I keep it pulled into braids most of the time. I can't wait until she can wash her hair all by herself!!) But anyway it's the greatest thing I've ever found and I think it would do wonders on curly hair... then just scrunch in or spray whatever product you need to make it hold??
@winchestergirl you can see my curls in some of the HBDB posts. I don't use product normally but when I went to get a haircut the last time my hairdresser was super into curls and told me about deva curl which I think @foxrosy mentioned also. I've never tried it but I'd say it's worth a shot. She also told me to do a similar kind of regimen to rosy's with the diffuser. She did it to my hair at the time and it looked pretty freakin awesome. Also she told me that when I get a haircut I need to have someone cut it for my curls. That will affect the curl bounce and volume and all of that. I literally took none of her advice and I just go to sleep with it wet in a bun and wake up lucky most days that it looks presentable. So. Either approach you could try?
@gretchypoo the cake came out super delicious...way too decadent, but pretty satisfied. Thanks for asking!
Now im waiting for my kid to wake up so we can drive to the big city for birthday fun.
@WinchesterGirl your hair is gorgeous! I agree with @kswiger06 I have curly hair myself and I put a mix of coconut/argon/almond oil in my hair after I shower. Disclaimer: I have pretty dry hair though, so it doesn't look greasy. Just sets the curl and I don't have to wash it for 4-5 more days.
Happy birthday @homemake , I hope it's a great one.
@WinchesterGirl I have curly hair and I just put it up all the time. I don't have time to try and defrizz and style. When I do feel frisky I use redkin gel- it's in a round green container.
Thanks @foxrosy! I will try that too. Does the Deva curl make your hair crunchy like gel? I have tried plain gel before, but I still get frizzy spots and then I don't love the crunchy hair thing.
@kswiger06 I loooove argon oil! I use it on my ends after I straighten and to catch flyaways around my part. I didn't think about trying it for curl purposes, though!
@GlitterDragon My hair is drier also, and I can go 4+ days without oil buildup. How much do you apply, and do you do it while it's still wet? Because I never blow-dry all this hair... it gets giant and looks like a lion's mane.
H and I were going to drive to the mountains (about 30 mins from our house) to a corn maze because we are children. But tourists also want to see mountain foliage and traffic is backed up for three hours. So now we can't do fun fall shit today.
I am also suffering from corn maze frustration @LivingLaVidaGinger. Today was our last free day to go and it is closed for bad weather. Very disappointing.
@WinchesterGirl I apply a quarter sized amount of oil while it's wet and then brush it out afterward. I don't actually own a hairdryer because my hair just turns into a frizz ball when I use one. I wash it at night and then let it air dry. It sounds like we have the same hair probs
@GlitterDragon I definitely use oil in my hair too. @WinchesterGirl I use the No Poo Shampoo and conditioner then follow with Deva Curl gel. Never makes my hair crunchy. I hate crunchy hair.
