We just got back from a trip visiting family. My dad made a BOMB breakfast every morning so today my mouth is sad with my peanut butter toast.

I am HUNGRY today. No amount of food can satisfy me. I am trying to choose healthy things to tide me over until lunch, ate an apple, ate some pineapple, had a green smoothie. Stomach still rumbling. About to wave the white flag and go to the gourmet grilled cheese place for lunch...
I have a midwife apt this afternoon, she scheduled a pap test and I'm all kinds of nervous and weird. I've given birth before so you'd think it would be a breeze but I just don't wanna.... Like at all.
Also pregnancy brain over here overlapped my pap test with DD's dance class..... Hmmmmm reason to postpone the apt?... Jk.
we had our big ultrasound yesterday. I was so nervous, way more nervous than with my 5 yr old daughter. I cried when they said what we were having, DH had a huge smile. I'm so excited !!! and nervous! A BOY!
Dh goes to work today and our daughter was so upset this morning before school I'm used to it but two weeks seems like a lifetime to her I'm sure
I was in the Drs office today for my weekly progesterone shot and when I checked out the nurse I regularly see asked me if I was having twins as the paperwork for the blood work I had done last week was based on me being pregnant with twins. I was like um not that I'm aware of. She said oh it must be a mistake...... She didn't think I was having twins. I said well I guess we will find out for sure at the anatomy scan in a couple weeks. That was so weird! And a little concerning....

Today a coworker patted my stomach and said "You're really starting to pop out!" ....surprisingly enough, it didn't bother me at all. I was just excited that someone recognized my belly as a baby bump and not just flab!
My brother and his wife announced their pregnancy his morning. This is their rainbow baby, so they waited until the 20-week AS to make sure the baby was healthy before announcing. That means they are due the same week I am! I am super excited!

Thanks ladies! I originally wanted the gender reveal photos to be of my daughter holding the pumpkin but once we got to the shoot she wanted absolutely nothing to do with getting in front of the camera. We got one photo of her with DH and I with her hands on my belly but she had her eyes shut so she looks like she's praying haha. But the photos turned out pretty good considering! Perks of becoming friends with my previous boss from when we worked at a photography studio together. I found a coupon for $50 for a pregnancy pillow.. after I ordered mine. But I did find some coupons for babylegs and I can't wait to order them, I loved them with my daughter. Made keeping her in just a onesie warmer and for easy diaper changes.
Anyone feeling like an alien, being pregnant? I don't feel motherly and human. I feel like I've turned into an alien with a pod and this is all very weird. Maybe because I'm a new mother of the "geriatric" kind.
Totally understand how you're feeling @nicklesb!! I've had at least three people in the last week ask (basically) "does it seem real?" I keep saying "nope! Maybe when I'm showing more, or when I can feel movement, but right now, it just feels like I can't have a glass of wine." LOL.
@RunBooRun I'm jealous!!! I hope you guys have time to take a trip to Estes Park and RMNP. It's so beautiful! Especially right now!
@AverageAsh My dad always makes awesome breakfast when we stay with him too! It makes it even harder to leave lol I am not the kind of person to wake up early and make yummy breakfast, I love sleep too much!
@librarymom917 I love your picture!!! And what a great name
@korpisar I would have literally peed my pants! Don't spring questions like that on a lady who is 18 weeks pregnant! My mind would be racing until the next scan! Ahh
@liepertsm My boss said the same thing to me today and I think my smile was a mile wide! Yes, yes I am, it's not just too many tacos, there is a real baby in there!!!!
So weird pregnant lady irrational thought of the day: I feel guilty at the end of the day when DS finally goes down and I plop down in the recliner. Not that I don't deserve the break (kid's killing my back and belly) but last pregnancy I was so conscious about good posture and using a yoga ball to help with uterine alignment and all that hoohah and this time around I just want to put my feet up. I get so worried that I'm jacking up my pelvis or something and baby will be breach or I won't be able to get her out or something. I'm headed off the deep end guys...
@jenny0228 That's been me all week! I'm so worried about my weight gain (I just let the doc weigh me at my monthly appointments and am trying not to add anxiety to my life by doing so at home), but don't want to ignore the hunger either... I am growing another entire human inside, after all. Ugh.
My random for the week is just to complain about how much of an idiot I feel. I knew that I needed to sign up for classes at the hospital (like the childbirth, breastfeeding, baby care, etc. courses) but in the movies, women are alway enormous by the time they go in for those. My mental image was that it's a 3rd trimester thing. Nope. I called to inquire and they were like "you should have signed up by the third month to take in your fourth month!! You're late! Some of the classes are full until January." AAAAAAH I DON'T KNOW THINGS, SOMEBODY GIVE ME A CHECKLIST DAMMIT

@EnglishTeacherMama if it makes you feel any better I didn't take any classes last time. I found books and birth stories enough to get me to feel prepared. Of course, if it's going to make you feel better definitely do it. Just wanted to give you some reassurance that at not point in my labor did I think "God I wish I took a class!"
@EnglishTeacherMama I, like @Gators&BoSox didn't take a single class with my first and I felt prepared as you can be! I watched a couple YouTube birth videos read Ina Maes guide to childbirth and felt it was enough for me. Especially the breast feeding class... I personally felt there was no need to study and practice something that you can't really experience till baby arrives! It's at least 50% of their work too.
like gators said! Not to tell you to skip: but to assure you they aren't all necessary! but hope you can get a space in the classes you really want to be in!!
@EnglishTeacherMama That doesn't even make sense! Even if you were in your third month right now, you'd be SOL because they're full until January, lol. And that's by no means too late anyway to take a birth/prep class when you're due in March! Anyway, you are not at all dumb. I'd be feeling just as foolish, but realistically, you're hardly a procrastinator! That said, I'm now feeling a tad paranoid and will be looking into classes soon, since I was going to put that off until later..
@EnglishTeacherMama Don't fret. We didn't take classes until I was in the 3rd tri. To me it made sense to take a class closer to the due date so I didn't forget anything. The classes I took were helpful since they were at the hospital where I delivered and it helped me feel prepared for what to expect at that particular hospital. Don't let someone make you feel bad, you have plenty of time!
@Gators&BoSox @kjd291@kiyamurph@dubcompanion Thank you, ladies!! That does make me feel better. I think it was just the shock of her reaction that made me scared. I like to feel over-prepared for things, not scrambling!
I think I at least want to take the childbirth classes because, even though I can read and watch videos, my husband wouldn't necessarily prepare for anything like that. So this way he can come along and learn the breathing/calming/coaching stuff that he definitely does not know now.
And I am due in "March" but March 1st, so my head has definitely translated it to February... eek.

@EnglishTeacherMama I was late signing up with my first too! Ended up just taking one 8 hour class on a Saturday, and I agree with a PP, I liked it because we had a hospital tour and I knew what to expect at my particular hospital. I had nightmares from the videos though Also found out while I was at this class that I was already supposed to pre register with the hospital - something my ob forgot to tell me. So I was late doing that too, but everything was ready to go by the time DD arrived
It is SO nice to feel as prepared as possible for baby. I'm a huge planner/type A personality. I tried to remind myself last time around that there are those stories you hear of women who literally don't realize they are having a baby till they get to the hospital: not registered? They can't turn you away! No car seat? : someone will go grab one day of. No baby shower? Throw a sip and see post baby. No clothes? Wrap them in a warm blanket. Hahah ; )
for some reason this helped me feel better about my life.
@EnglishTeacherMama Check to see if they have any online options! We opted for the online childbirth class through our hospital because DH's schedule is so crazy. It was super helpful!

Definitely this! I have a general idea of when my c-section will be, so I'm trying to plan out maternity leave, but then I remember this kid can do WTF they want and WHAT IF IT WANTS TO COME EARLY. I'll have to remind myself of the stuff you mentioned lol. Plus, even if it's a girl, she could definitely wear all of DS's clothes that are upstairs in storage.

Some days I really sit and wonder how my daughter is so amazing. She slept through the night by 8 wks, was potty trained before 2, has the best manners, eats fruits and vegetables, gets good grades, and could take care of me if I was sick. If someone asks me how I sleep trained or potty trained I wouldn't know what to tell them. This makes me a little anxious sometimes to do it all over again as they will be 9 years apart. I feel like a new mom all over again. I was so young before (had her at 21) I just winged it and I truly don't know how I raised this little person so well. Hoping I have the same luck this time around.
Went in for my regular prenatal appointment today and doc was having a hard time keeping the heartbeat on doppler, so I went for a quick sono, which turned into my anatomy scan! DH wasn't there because our scan was supposed to be next Friday. So that super sucked, but everything looked great! Placenta hanging out up front, which explains my lack of feeling movement and trouble finding the heartbeat. But everything measured close to 19 weeks (measured 9 oz!) and I have the sex in an envelope on the fridge. Taking every ounce of self-restraint I have not to open until DH gets home.

@datalover13 I have a placenta that is anterior too so makes me feel better that I know now that there is a reason I haven't felt much movement yet. Have fun finding out the sex later tonight with your DH!
