Re: UO Thursday 10/13

  • @Kacie209 Same with our hospital, and yeah, if I need a break, I have no problem having the nursery take him for a little bit. I think it's really sad if someone shames someone else for making that choice.

  • FFFC: I plan to use the nursery at least once a day. They still bring the baby in to feed so that's like a 2 hour break. Middle of the night...you bet my brand spanking new baby will spend one stretch in there. I'll be having a c section and have no shame that I need to recover too.

Dd1 spent quite a bit of time in there. She was under jaundice lights 24 hours a day. We could only hold her 10 minutes an hour, every other one for feeding. She was tested every hour because of how severe her jaundice was. So at night, we sent her to the nursery (except for feeding) and kept her in room during the day. Sometimes DH went with her, other times he slept. Part of the reason she was in the nursery was because I had a terrible labor then emergency c section and I wasn't stable for 24 hours. I tried to get her out her bassinet about 3 hours post c section and fell (luckily before I picked her up). After that I wasn't allowed out of bed for 24 hours. So we used the nursery...bad circumstances led to more use than I planned. But things happen.
