Wow I am so glad that sleep regression at this age is normal. I am sorry you ladies are going through the same thing, it sucks!!! Q used to soothe himself to sleep and if he woke up in the middle of the night he could soothe himself then, but now we have to go in there multiple times a night. Last night we were up from 2-430 and the night before that was the worst night ever!! We didn't even get to sleep until 330 am

For those of you that eased my anxiety about flying, thank you!! We made it through the first flight with no issues. Q was happy looking at all the new stuff in the airport then fell asleep the minute we got on the plane. I nursed him during take off and landing to make sure his ears were ok and he is totally fine. He didn't fuss once!! He hates the travel crib though so that isn't fun, and our schedule is totally thrown off here, but other than that I would call it a win! Flying with infant = not as tragic as I thought it would be

Anyone have any suggestions for clearing congestion at the back of the throat? I got a lot of the gunk out of his nose with the bulb, but he still catches on mucus when he breathes and it makes him cough. Just not sure how to clear stuff back there.

Have you tried a cool mist humidifier/sitting in a steamy bathroom? What about letting him sleep on an incline? You could also rhythmically pat on his back to help break it up. Then when he coughs maybe he wouldn't cough? Just throwing some stuff out there. Hope you find something that helps!

So I went to pick Camille up from daycare just now and right when the lady handed her to me she kissed her on the forehead. I'm sooooo annoyed and I think it's inappropriate to be kissing other people's kids as a daycare provider. Also, germs. Am I overreacting??

@winnie1122 So this totally happened to LO about a month ago. I ended up taking her to the emergency room because she kept choking on it. They were kind enough to take it out for me. Basically you have to release the bulb super slowly to allow the suction to get as far as possible. They did it there and got so much mucus out within in two tries. It took me a few tries to get it just right, plus they squirm and cry the entire time, but eventually I became a pro. Good luck!

@winnie1122 Im so glad you brought this up , Im going through the same thing. Ive tried everything and nothing seems to work out for her , Saline Drops , bulb , humidifier , steamy bathroom , someone did mention to me a Nosefrida it seems to work really well for some moms , think Ill check it out tomorrow .

@Heathereaddy Im not okay with kisses from anyone besides Dad and big brother , not even close relatives or friends , so in my opinion thats a NO NO , I would just let them know that it bothers you , its your baby after all.

@heathereaddy Let them know what you are comfortable with! When I used to be a nanny, I developed a really deep bond with the child I watched. It is hard not to show affection to children! But, it is your child and if it makes you uncomfortable, let them know. My baby is being watched by my sister in law once a week and I want them to get close. I'm happy knowing she is loved when she is there, but she is also family so it is different.

I found some lumps on LO, one on the back of her head toward to neck and one on the neck toward the side. I've looked it up and since they are rubbery and move around when I move them it seems to be swollen lymp nodes. I called the nurse and she said just to keep an eye on them and on LO for signs of sickness. She didn't sound worried at all. So far LO seems just fine besides some extra fussiness but nothing crazy. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?

thanks ladies! I'm fine with them showing some affection but kissing my LO just doesn't sit well. If she were family it might be different but she's not and my baby has only been there a month so I don't expect any deep bonds to have formed yet. She's an older lady with grandkids so I'm sure it's just habit but I'm not ok with that. I do kinda feel bad saying don't kiss my child though.

Those of you with sleep issues- could your LO be hitting leap 3? AJ went through his a few days ago and had 3-4 days of being up Every. Single. Hour. Now he's through it and we've had 3 nights of two 4-5 hour stretches. ::fingers crossed this continues::

Id definitely tell her you're uncomfortable with kissing. Since you asked for opinions though...I wouldn't be upset about it. Then again now that he has his vaccines, I'm the "go outside in the mud, let the dog lick him, expect everything to go in his mouth" kinda mom. =/

Anyone else with a big baby? Mine is about to outgrow size small halo sleep sacks and I see they don't make the swaddling ones in size medium?!? Wtf ahhh he's not ready to have arms out and be unswaddled yet he's only two months old

@john5111- DD2 is wearing size 3-6 month clothes. We are swaddling her arms in in the Miracle Blanket.

On the topic of sleep issues- my DD has had some sleep regression issues lately (will be 14 weeks tomorrow) and I had suspicions that she was starting to cut teeth and last night confirmed it. Her gums are bumpy and the one spot where she chomps on her thumb all day you can see white through her gums (and again, it is bumpy) at that same spot and she is a constant drool bucket. She was super fussy last night so I gave her some Tylenol and she slept so much better! It seems so early for this!

@DachshundMomma I couldn't agree more, it feels like time has flown since last October. People keep saying for me to enjoy K while he's so young and I just brushed it off because he's tiny but now I'm starting to understand it!
We're due to start leap 3 soon and nothing seems to much different so far, his sleep is fantastic at the minute so I'm soaking up as much sleep as possible. We have his developmental check tomorrow to see how he's getting on. He hasn't had many blisters or breaks in the skin up until this weekend, we had his baptism and a lot of people were holding him. So we have to keep an eye on that.
Just to add, I hate how busy I'm getting, I rarely get a chance to check TB and it's so annoying. It's crazy how there were so many regulars and now there's hardly anyone. Raising babies takes a lot of time and effort!

I'm doing some very preliminary research.

How much would you be willing to pay, could afford to pay, or find reasonable, to have someone on a weekly/monthly/bi weekly basis to cook your dinners. Or breakfasts? Or whatever you specifically needed.

The amount, style of meals, and preferences, would be totally custom done to fit each family's individual needs/wants. It could be freezer meals, prepped and ready to cook, fully cooked and waiting, or a combo.

The amount would not include the groceries.

I'm playing around with an approachable meal service for real families, with real budgets. So busy family's can commit time to sit with each other around the table for a meal together. But don't have the time, energy, or interest to be in the kitchen, but also don't want to eat out or order in all the time.

I just spent the last 15 minutes arguing with BF about increasing K's feed. We had his development check today and his weight went from the 91st centile at birth to the 50th at 10.5 weeks. The way he's sleeping at the minute has him missing two feeds (We let him sleep through the night for a good routine) so I told BF that we needed to increase his feed another oz to keep his weight up. He just couldn't understand and kept arguing about it. I nearly punched him.

Our LO went from like the 90% to 60% at her 8 week check up. Doc said it was normal for her to level off on her growth though. Both DH and I are on the smaller side so I didn't think she was going to be huge forever

She is missing a feeding or two also because she is sleeping through the night. I'm interested to see how our 4 month check up goes.

@lf93 how is your LO after eating? Still fussing or content? If he's content (and your dr wasn't concerned about this drop off) I would think he's okay where he's at. It depends on what you guys and your dr think is best, of course.

@LF93 not to poke the bear but I wouldn't worry about increasing his formula unless he is indicating hunger. At our four month appointment today Elliott dropped to the 33rd percentile for weight. My doctor wasn't concerned at all. He said 50th percentile is of course great but it's normal for them to drop in percentile as they grow at this age. Elliott is in the 90th percentile for height so we know where the calories are going.

@LDSJM123 I don't know a specific dollar amount I could suggest, though if you are targeting on-a-budget families I would think about how you can fit the entire service (groceries included) into reasonable cost brackets depending on what and how often they would use it. I would be more likely to consider it if it felt like I was actually saving money by doing it, if that makes sense. Which I think would probably actually be the case even with labor costs for most people since grocery/food budgets are easily blown on restaurants and junk food when time is tight. I think it's a great idea, but I personally would have to feel like it was a justifiable cost if I'm not in a place of affording a lot of extras in my budget. I know stuff like Blue Apron is pretty popular, and that is not cheap, so obviously people are willing to pay for the time saving aspect. Maybe use their prices to help you set yours?

@LDSJM123 I feel that a large portion of my paycheck goes to groceries. Then some of those groceries go to waste. I've recently seen commercials for things like Plated which bundles recipes together and then sends you a box where you then make the meals. That would be even better if someone else were cooking it! You would have to make it affordable though. I'd say it would depend on the type of meal, how many nights a week and the ingredients. Sounds great to me.

LO slept from 8pm to 5am for the first time. Of course, I woke up at 2:30am like usual and had the hardest time going back to sleep. Hopefully this will be her new thing. I miss sleep.

@theshannondee Okay I feel a bit better after reading that. I was probably over reacting a little bit ha! But I wont admit that to himself. I'll wait until his next check and mention it to my own doctor and see does she think we need to increase his feed yet. He seems quite happy the majority of the time when it comes to feeding but the past few days he's been drinking every bottle and been looking for more. Might just be the start of leap 3 though.

@babycakesday Our LO also slept from 8:30-5! It was a nice night. I hope it continues.

@LF93 Adalynn is only in the 21st percentile and our doctor didn't even mention it! Then again, we're at high altitude and it's normal for people to have smaller babies up here. As long as they're growing well and gaining weight, I don't think there's any reason at all to worry.

Our peanut is in the 10th percentile. She was 9.8 lbs at her 2 month appointment. As mentioned, as long as he isn't showing hunger signs, I wouldn't be too cute concerned. @LF93

@LF93 my LO will let us know as soon as she even starts to feel hungry however not all babies are like that. Agreed though that as long as there are no hunger signs you should be fine. My pedi said that she once had a patient that never cried so the parents didn't know he was hungry and he ended up on IVs. You can always watch for signs of dehydration like dry lips/tongue, less elasticity in skin, decrease or absence of tears, decrease in wet diapers to eliminate that possibility.

I am terrible at posting now guys. I've missed everybody (and a lot of the snark/gifs. Needing more of both in my life). @LDSJM123 I love that idea. For me, the hardest thing is HEALTHY meal planning. I'd probably be willing to pay $100(for labor and groceries) biweekly just for someone to do my meal planning and grocery shop for me. I wouldn't need anyone to cook for me since I enjoy that aspect, it's just harder to do everything else!

ETA if the recipes are anything like what you gram, I'm down

Is anyone else experiencing severe hip and knee pain? It's worse now than it was when I was pregnant. Even if I walk a short distance I spend the rest of the day waddling like an old lady.

I'm wondering if it's a calcium issue?? My teeth have also been extremely painful and I've started calcium supplements to try and combat that.
