Advice Needed Beta 3.5 (Negative) 5 Positive Urine Tests

Hello all, so here's just a little bit about my journey. My husband and I have been trying to conceive baby number 2 for 20 months now. It's been a long journey and we just started some fertility testing. We found out he is just under normal for sperm count and I have a partially blocked tube. I had an HSG test this cycle and was told it can help us conceive. Well to my surprise, I got a few positive urine tests this week including this morning, but our Reproductive Endocrinologist gave me a blood test and it came back at 3.5 or negative since it's under 5. I am so lost, and really just beside myself. I have been tearful this evening because I feel confused since I've had so many positive tests. I mean, I didn't even need to use a flashlight or squint. Even my hubby saw it. I haven't lost complete hope yet, since my period isn't due until Thursday, but I'm sure a little worried. I had a tiny twinge of pink when I wiped earlier and still getting the positive tests. It's just baffling to me because I don't think it's implantation bleeding, but also not my period. I'm going to get a repeat BETA from our doc on Monday if I haven't started yet, and I am just looking for some advice or insight or anyone who has had this happen before too. Here is a photo of my positive test, I took a few cheapy ones and 4 FRER all positive.

I'm just looking for advice, anyone who has been in my situation. Sometimes it's nice to just have someone to talk to about these things especially since we are all trying to conceive. I am new here and this is my first post.

It is against TOU to either ask if you're pregnant (even in a roundabout way) or post a picture of a pregnancy test. Not to mention, we don't want to see anything that you peed on. Did you read any of the posts pinned at the top of the board before starting your own post? Did you lurk at all? If you had, you would have noticed the lack of individual posts in this board, we have daily and weekly threads and pretty much everything and anything can fit into one of those. If everyone made an individual thread for every question, the board would be overrun. While I'm sorry that you're having difficulty TTC, so are a lot of the women on this board and a post like this is very upsetting to those have a hard TTC day, week, month, year. If you want to stay around this community, I would recommend starting by reading the pinned posts and then lurk. A LOT!! The women here are amazing and supportive; but the thing is, in order to get support, you also need to give it. Creating your own thread thinking you are a speshul snoflayk is not supporting the other incredible women here. I (again) advise you to lurk, read the pinned threads, make an intro and then stick around and you might just find that you would love it here when you follow the rules and etiquette of the board!

Hi @LindsayRS ! This is a close-knit, established community and posts like this usually do not go over well here. Do yourself a favor and check out the newbie posts at the top of the board, and lurk more to get a feel for how this board works. Every woman on this board is at a different and unique place in her TTC journey. Even if someone has had a remotely similar situation, each persons body - and circumstances - are different.

I apologize for jumping the gun and posting, my intent was not to ask if I was pregnant, just for some advice. I have lurked a few websites and gotten some indirect information. However, this is the first website I've been on where the ladies were not kind. I enjoy baby center, I think I'll stick to that site. Thanks take care

Dirty lurker here but: the "girls above" are amazing ladies. They helped me get through some incredibly difficult times dealing with infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. I really do not believe you'll find a better group of ladies anywhere. And honestly I don't really like how you're saying they weren't kind. They asked you to follow the rules. That isn't unkind. They asked you to remove the picture of the pregnancy test you posted. That isn't unkind.

But if just looking for a community without rules where anything goes then yeah maybe BabyCenter is a better fit.

I have been in your position. I had a cycle where I had several positive tests. I could see them. My husband could see them. They were positive. I noticed the tests were getting lighter and with my RPL history I pretty much knew it was a chemical pregnancy. I called my RE to report it anyhow and they ordered a beta. The beta came back <2 confirming that I was definitely not pregnant at the time of the beta. My RE said that with my history he believes it was a chemical pregnancy. I think it was a chemical pregnancy. But I'll never know for sure. So I have been where you are and it's terrible.

I'm sorry for everything. I hope you're able to get your take-home baby soon.

I appreciate that, but I have never been treated this way as a new member. There are supportive ladies on those other sites as well, I've been a member of What to Expect and BabyCenter for a long time. I thought I would try the bump also, but it's just been terrible. I don't understand how anyone could jump on someone the way these ladies have, when they were new. I understand, I didn't know I had to read a bunch of things and lurk posts to get answers, I simply don't have time to do that. I don't spend a lot of time online, but it's been a long haul, and I needed to get some support from other women in my situation. I read reviews that the people were bossy and rude here and I didn't want to feed into that, and I wanted to try it anyways and I did. And wow.

I appreciate you, and I know not everyone is like that, but it's just insane how people jumped on me. I wasn't trying to get attention or say "Look at my test, HAHA" because I'm actually not pregnant and haven't been able to get that way. However, here's to hoping and I wish you all well regardless. Ok, so I'm reading this on the couch next to DH, and I must have said "She posted a picture of the pregnancy test?" out loud. DH replies with "I thought you weren't allowed to do that on your message board." Even he knows the rules.

OP, I get that you are new - I'm relatively new myself. But there is a post right at the top that says "newbies, read this first." If you had taken the two minutes required to read it, I don't think you would have made the mistakes you did and you would have found this to be an incredibly supportive community. Those "rude" ladies you mentioned have been so welcoming and supportive of me these last several weeks. We look out for each other, and don't take kindly to strangers coming in with drive by posts. You say you don't have time for it, but honestly, you get what you give around here.

But, it sounds like Baby Center might be a better place for you after all. I'll keep my snarky, gif-addicted, science loving ladies!

Normally I would snark but since this just happened to me I will be helpful. I had 5 positive hpts over a week time period. These were digital tests too. Then I started bleeding, I had a beta done and my result was a 3.5. So I was not pregnant. I think unfortunately you experienced a chemical pregnancy. It sucks and I'm sorry.

OP we were not rude, we were honest. You were the rude one thinking only of yourself and not the established community you were coming in to. We don't sugarcoat things here, but that doesn't mean these aren't the most amazing and supportive women. If you give an honest apology for your mistakes and rudeness you would be welcomed on the daily threads. You have to give support to get it!
