  • @maamawaabangi I agree. A few friends with almost 2 year Old twins still take them out everywhere in just a onsie. I equate it to taking them out in their undies.

  • @maamawaabangi what about if they have leg warmers with the onesies? Totally my going home outfit for my twin girls lol.

  • @allicat89 Yes! We got one of those fridges! A huge one to fit our family and weve had to fix the freezer due to our kids using it to knee up on to reach things and the one door with the flap that's suppose to flip back won't anymore, so you have to open both doors no matter what! It's not that old! So Sad!

Due December 27th with baby #7

  • @maamawaabangi I feel the same way about socks. Unless it's a hot day, why are those toes not covered!

@brittnic86 - disagree. but too tired to argue why (edited because phrasing was confusing.)
    @cgss11 - truth about zulilly
@kate08young - YES. I am so sick of seeing people here in sweatshirts/jackets holding their babes in t-shirts.

@cgss11 I like zulily but I think it's bogus that shipping isn't free.

@allicat89 I'm with you on the fridges.  I thought I'd love a freezer on the bottom but it's awful!  We've had things fall behind it and get stuck, huge hassle!

@slartybartfast 3D ultrasounds are creepy but for some reason I'm ok with them for my baby only because it's MY alien baby and not someone else's.

My UO - I hate onions in all forms.  I was kind of hoping that pregnancy would expand my taste buds - but no still totally disgusting to me.  I'll cook with them for flavor but pick them out and not actually eat them lol.  Kind of boring, but it's all I've got today.

  • @maamawaabangi - Our door with the flap broke too! It isn't even three years old! These fridges are clearly designed by people who never have to use fridges.

@karmba- I'm the same way with onions. I love the flavor they give to dishes, but at the end of every meal, there is always an uneaten onion pile on one side of my plate.
  • I loved our 3D ultrasound! Mostly because of how obvious it is that Rhett takes after me. I really thought he would look just like FI but nope, he is all mama. :)

This might be a UO: FI kind of let me go crazy in Ulta for my birthday yesterday and I got these teeth whitening strips... They suck! I mean they work but I hate having them in my mouth for 30 minutes, they make me nauseous and I'm already having a hard time with that. :(

I dislike Starbucks.  I like coffee.  The fall PSL cult following confuses me.  I can have a cup of good coffee without fake flavoring and 14 teaspoons of sugar.  And I can certainly pay less than $6 for it.  If you love it that's cool, I just know people who get an overflavored, sugary coffee at least once per day.  That's almost $200/month!!

I love me some pumpkin anything. That being said, when I was back home this weekend visiting family we stopped by a mom and pop coffee house. They make their own version of a PSL so I thought I'd try it out. It was $8, for the small. WHAT?!

  • I've only gotten 1 3D ultrasound and that was at 19 weeks. I'd like one for where I am now to see Squish's features better. I wanna know who they take after!

Onsies...I live in FL. Safe to say this kid will live in their diaper and onsies once summer hits. Especially if they take after daddy and sweat all the time.

@brittnic86 medical for sure. If it is legalized, tax the hell out of it and help pay off our debt.

Onions are evil. Evil I say. And I miss them. They are one of the things that aggravate my IBS so I steer clear of them.

My UO - I collect dolls and have never found them to be creepy. Heck, my collection was in my bedroom growing up on display and I had at least 20 on display.

  • @Austenista My baby will probably rarely wear socks. I keep forgetting that's even a thing. I only own 3 pairs of socks and only wear them if we go hiking. I hate having my feet confined! I wear sandals all year except for maybe 2 or 3 winter weeks. Then it's uggs, sockless. Maybe those are my unpopular opinions. I'll stick up my uggs just to avoid socks  :p

Aside from his church clothes (his suit requires it, they are literally sewn onto the end of the pants) L has worn socks a total of 3 times now, and we live in Idaho. Since he is starting to walk everywhere, he has a pair if boots and will wear socks with them but otherwise he rips them off.

For the first year, he was always carried or in s car seat when outside-he hates grass. During the winter he was always covered with the carseat cover and a blanket. Never needed anything else.

  • @Kate08Young @tinattt23 I guess that's my unpopular opinion then, but I'll stand by it. My grandmother (who raised me) had a serious problem with it and it bothered her. She didn't even like us as older kids to be barefoot. Hence, I will probably keep Eaton's feet covered some way some how because I will always hear her voice in my head saying, "shame on you" if I don't. :)

  • Baby socks all the way! My DD always had socks on. I think she was a unicorn though because she never took them off....until she was about 2. Now shoes and socks come off super fast! But as a baby she never took them off and I never lost a single one! Unicorn powers!

  • I can't help but think when I see a baby in only a onesie... "Where is that baby's pants?" To me, onesies are not an outfit... but to each their own!  :D
    I'm glad someone said that.

I can't stand to not wear socks, not sure why. But my DDs are just like their dad, they ALL take their socks off as soon as they get home. Socks everywhere... but then their feet get cold and they wonder why.

  • Here's mine... when I walk into the grocery store, or mall, or craft store, or anyplace in the fall that smells like 'cinnamon-spice-pumpkin-caramel-spice-apple-pie-andashitloadofspice' .... I want to murder the smell. It makes me want to puke, I have to hold my breath until we pass it. Or I'm gagging. I refuse to walk anywhere near the Yankee Candle Co this time of year.
For 4 years when I was a teenager I worked at a hippie, craft store and we sold large quantities of essential and fragrance oils, and I've come to really dislike a lot of fragrance, man-made smells. The fall season smells always got me the worst. Which is funny, because I love the food- apple
pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice bread, I love the real things, it's just those fake candle smells... Evil spice smells...

  • I have so many thoughts on baby clothes! My DS was an August baby and he lived in just onesies for a month! I got about 5 comments from strangers about him not having socks while he was in his stroller. Why the F does a newborn need socks, especially when its 90 degrees outside, let alone pants! But like everyone says, to each their own.
My DH just brought up that we probably need to buy this baby some socks since it'll be zero degrees and it made me realize, dressing this newborn will be a whole new animal when we need to go outside! Dang it!
  • @slartybartfast +1 for hating the way 3D ultrasounds look. I'm just going to hold out the 9-12 weeks to see the real baby! We already blew the surprise on sex, so I'm looking forward to the surprise on what she looks like :)

@brittnic86 preach it girl. I don't smoke, but I know plenty of people that do and I think its ridiculous to have people go to jail over a substance that's so much less harmful than alcohol. And the taxes we could get!! Yay! They are voting in MA this year and they keep talking about it here in CT. CT has a huge debt problem even though we already have one of the highest sales/income combined tax ratios in the country. That doesn't even count property taxes - which are also very high.

ONSIES - I don't know how I feel about this yet. I guess I don't understand the point of pants if the baby is warm enough. It seems like something else to clean if you are just hanging around the house. I can understand if you are going outside in the winter, but its a baby - it will be judged on how its dressed the rest of his/her life - let them have time to just be a baby :)

  • Speaking of jail time @leksiL, it blows my mind that someone will be put in jail for years because of the weeds, but a rapist can get out in months. Rapists typically have repetitive behavior. I hate hate hate reading those stories.

We got the French door fridge a year ago and I do like it. We got the extra deep one so I think it's the space that I'm enjoying the most. Freezer location = ehhhh not so much.

  • We have a freezer on the bottom and I love it except all the good things go there. I can't buy frozen treats anymore because I can't keep the kids out. If we have popsicles it's a battle literally all day long with them helping themselves to one after the other.
  • We got a french door fridge when we bought our house in May. I've loved it so far - the space is great -  but didn't think about children pulling the bottom drawers open. uh-oh! I have thought about getting an extra chest freezer to put in the garage though.

  • @leksiL @brittnic86 @temmetime I live in the wonderful state of WA, where it is legal. I haven't  personally taken advantage of that for about a year, but a lot of my friends do- including teacher friends. I'm sure the rest of the country will follow suit soon!

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • @yellingbanana @leksiL @temmetime yup yup yup. The tax dollars from it are incredible, the amount of money spent putting people in jail for it is insane, and people do get longer than rapists...which I don't even have words for. And I agree, alcohol is more harmful. In Oregon we've seen drunk driving and crimes rates go way down. Taking it off the streets and regulating it makes it harder for kids to get it. It's silly. I hope the rest of the country gets with it!

  • I don't judge babies that wear onesies without pants. Or their moms. Sometimes I don't like pants either. Thank goodness for leggings :)  but also, aren't onesies with pants sort of redundant? Now I have two steps to get to the diaper change!  Plus snaps! Yeah I know the shirts roll up hence the onesie. And it's the perfect set up for a newbie "things dads do". I guarantee one new dad here will put the onesie on over the pants:

My UO is that I don't understand freezer meals for postpartum.  I have so much more time with a newborn while on maternity leave! some of my best gourmet creations have been while on maternity leave when I actually have time to meal plan!  Of course it's different if you just had surgery but even then, I don't know, I guess I looked pathetic enough after my c/s that people brought me a ton of food.  I plan on making and freezing nothing!
  • @zubenescamali we utilize freezer meals year round, not just post partum. We both work full time and have a 2 year old plus this new one coming. It's a big overall sanity saver for me when I can just pop something in the oven and that's it.

Post partum last time I noticed I was never hungry. Never thought about cooking until DH was grumpy and I was over tired. It didn't go so well. That's why we started freezer meals. I would literally go all day without eating...and not realize it until DH asked me when he got home from work. I'm hoping between needing to feed a 2 year old and having already prepped meals this time will be easier.
