I met my hubs in college, but we didn't start dating until I was a junior (he was a year ahead, and just got back from a year living in Paris). We played on the same co-ed sports team, and our more-than-friendship started after a wild night that involved skinny dipping. Haha, such good memories. Been together 10 years, married for 3
My husband and I met through Match.com. He was the third person I met and after meeting him I stopped talking to anyone else on the site. That was 7 years ago and we have been married for 3 years. We have a 12 month old little boy!
My DH is also military (Navy) and we didn't even live together the year we got married (not deployed but finishing residency in the military in San Diego while I was finishing PA school in TX). We have moved a few times and are now living in Virginia Beach for the next 2-3 years.
We went to school together for a long time. Technically went to the same elementary school. We didn't actually talk until junior high when we became good friends. Started dating our sophomore year in high school and aside from a short break a few years ago, have been together ever since! All together, it has been 8 years. We have been married for almost 2 years.
Before SO and I were together he was an acquaintance of my ex boyfriend. He would always say hi to me and always seemed so interested in what I had going on in my life. My ex boyfriend was the worst boyfriend you can imagine. Lazy, didn't show up to work, then he became hooked on crack cocaine being gone for days at a time and only returning when he was all out of cash. While I slept he would steal all the money I would make waitressing and leave me so broke without any money to pay for my bills, rent or even for food. As much as I loved him I had to leave him. That was when my current boyfriend made his move and he saved me from all the mess that person had put me in. He took care of me and I was so grateful. It took some time but I was finally able to move on and grow to love him with all of my heart. He gave me my baby boy who just turned 1 this month and am now so happy and excited to be expecting our second child together.
These stories are all so wonderful- I love it! I may or may not have cried while reading them!
My husband and I met as part of a campus ministry at our college. 5 of my friends all had huge crushes on him at the same time (about a year before we started dating). I truly did not understand the big deal about him- which I told them and told him. However, months later we started hanging out more in a group with my BFF and her boyfriend. Eventually, we started to have feelings for each other. Got engaged at a Retreat with many friends from our ministry, got married 8 months later. Not a super exciting story, but he is pretty awesome and I adore him!
I met my husband in high school. We dated then, broke up for high school reasons, but stayed best friends. He moved to NC after high school, I got involved with another guy, but could never get my husband out of my mind. I ended up moving to NC and we started dating seven years ago today. We got engaged in 2013, married in 2014. The story is a lot more complicated than that, but I think the short version is good, too. I'm a lucky lady!
MH and I met on match.com. We first met up at our state fair where he didn't impress. His persistence eventually paid off, obviously. We have been together for 9 years and married for almost 6 (Nov).

We met in college through mutual friends. We were both on the rebound and he was preparing for a deployment to Iraq. I waited. We were together for 7 years before we got married in 2011.
I had a bunionectomy surgery that went bad. Resulted in me needing to get a total of 5 surgeries to get my foot to heal. I wound up losing my job while I was out on disability, broke up with my boyfriend (we wouldn't have worked out anyway), and basically just felt like my whole world was collapsing. Once I was healed I needed to get physical therapy. My husband was my therapist! When therapy was over he called me and asked me out. That was 6 years ago and we are celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary on October 5. We have a beautiful 14 month old baby boy and are thrilled to be blessed with another.
Love love love reading all these stories! I also want to ask what GTKY means??
Anyway, hubby and I went to high school together but didn't meet until about a week before graduation (our HS was about 3000 students, so it's easy not to cross paths with other people). He was definitely "popular" and well known, so I knew who he was, but our paths never crossed socially (I was definitely not well known). Anyway, we hit it off immediately and that was over 12 years ago! We just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in July.
Love these stories! We met in college and had a ton of mutual friends. We dated unofficially for a little while, but when the school year ended it fizzled. We stayed in contact via MySpace/Facebook over the years after college but didn't talk much. Then both of our best friends each encouraged us to try out Match... we both did and guess who got matched? Haha! After we got over the embarassment of not only finding someone we knew but also being matched with each other, we realized this was the second chance that no one ever gets! We started dating a month or so after the match and got married about a year later!
