My confession is that sometimes when I'm having a hard TTC day, I will read a novel or watch a movie about evil children (think Damien in The Omen) to make myself think it isn't that bad not to have a baby after all.
@JDW0325 and @adirat I hate GOT too--like, with a passion, also in a large part because of objectification (but yeah, I heard that isn't as bad as it used to be and I knew I hated it i the 1st episode and stopped then). MH watches it too, which is fine as long as I don't have to sit through it pretending to be entertained.
@spk112 I hate football too, along with most other spectator sports. Luckily, I married more of a car guy who never makes me sit through sports.
My FFFC is that lately I have been really into shows about surviving in the wilderness with no supplies (except Naked and Afraid because it's too gimmicky). It's become a minor obsession thankfully shared by MH. Also I don't like New Girl (sorry and no offense to folks who do but it's just not doing it for me).
My FFFC is I can't stand DH's cousin because I think she's lacks ALL common sense, maturity, etc. I have her on FB just so when I am having a bad day, I can go look at her page for some good laughs and face palms.

@vflux33 I don't know if I can ever forgive you for not liking New Girl!
H is going to be gone next week and while I will miss him, I am excited to not be nagged for a week (I'm a *tad* messier than he is). And to eat all the terrible things I'm afraid he would judge me for, like homemade queso for dinner. Every night.

I was looking for a specific queso gif of a kid licking the bowl then crying when it's all gone, but I couldn't find it
Every once in a while I make a crockpot of homemade queso and it's the best day ever.
My FFFC: I love Toddlers and Tiaras. It's the best show to watch and then yell at people for making dumb choices. In real life I try very hard to not be judgemental of others' parenting decisions.
@hartmich and @SaphireSweetie88 Can I join the New Girl buddy club? I just started it a few weeks ago and already watched all 5 seasons on Netflix. I love it!
@berg I am with you on The Walking Dead. DH and I watched the first few seasons and then just couldn't deal with it anymore. None of the characters are likable IMHO.
I guess maybe my FFFC could be that I love GoT and football (college only). But I will also say that I do not see the obsession with The Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise and whatever other spin offs there are. It is nothing but a bunch of bitchy women fighting over some guy that they don't even know. I could just never get into it.
Edit: I just had chips and queso at lunch and I most definitely hate myself LOL
Fun fact: I was out with a friend at a Tex-Mex restaurant and I ordered queso and she says "Oh, you'll miss that the most," and I said "Miss what? Queso?" She says "Yeah, you can't have queso when you get pregnant because no soft cheeses." And I died a little inside. BUT she was wrong because you better believe I researched that. As long as the cheese is pasteurized before you melt it, it's fine. AND I'm pretty sure Velveeta is so pasteurized you could leave it in a warm, damp room and it would still be fine in a month. Moral of the story: I was a little scared, but everything is fine, because queso.

2 cans of chili magic starter beans, a crap ton of Mexican shredded cheese, a block of cream cheese, small container of sour cream, a pinch of
sriracha sauce, and a squeeze of lime. DELICIOUS
edit- forgot the sour cream!
You will all be happy to know that I did extensive cheese research during my first pregnancy and can now share that with you today. If you are buying cheese in the US, 98% of what you can buy is pasteurized. Yes, you can go to a specialty place and find like legit French Brie that is unpasteurized, but you're not going to see much of that at like the Trader Joe's or whatever. In a vast vast majority of cases, you are absolutely fine to eat ALL OF THE CHEESE YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON. I very much doubt that most Mexican restaurants in this country are importing queso fresco, unless they are super fancy places, and I think queso fresco is generally pasteurized anyway...so proceed.
In other news, I legitimately had no idea I was supposed to avoid hot dogs while pregnant, and I had to have had like a hundred turkey dogs during that time. I know now that it's not specifically hot dogs, it's the nitrates that you're supposed to eat only in moderation, but I truly was eating like 4 hotdogs a week. Oops.
@vflux33 I should have put in an unpopular opinion yesterday that I plan to ignore most "pregnancy food" advice since it all seems to be baseless. So yeah I get that. You gotta do you. People will pry cheese from my cold dead hands if I am lucky enough to get pregnant soon.
I actually do not think it's safe generally to eat unpasteurized products unless you know the source, which I living in the NYC suburbs obviously do not. But if I lived on a farm I would feel differently I'm sure.
That said, "Ancient cultures didn't do/have X and that's why we have fertility issues" is not a legitimate claim for anything since literally everything we experience now is so different, and we don't actually know much about ancient cultures' fertility since we don't have good records (and so many women died during childbirth). I read something similar about technology and how you shouldn't use cell phones because the existence of cell phones kills all sperm, which appears true in a localized way (keeping your cell phone in your pocket next to your testicles seems to decrease sperm count) but is certainly not true to the point this person was making about how all cell phones should be destroyed.
The world of TTC is crazy. I'll join you for that wine.
