I've seen a few of you are hungry since you are breastfeeding but does anyone have a lack of appetite? I can go from the time I eat breakfast to dinner without anything in between and still am producing plenty of milk. Does anyone have suggestions on how to increase my appetite?
I didn't have much of an appetite (and I think it affected my supply) but then I started working out again and I think that kicked my metabolism up, I ate a ton yesterday, definitely more than I probably should have but given my concerns about supply and given how little I was eating before I think it was a good thing.
I did, I got cleared 1 month 2 days PP c-section (also cleared for sex at same appt), started working out 3 days later. Feeling good, albeit sore from normal muscle pain! My supply definitely went up this week, not sure if it's because we're sleeping better, I'm eating more, pumping more worked, LO had a growth spurt, or what.
We have that too sometimes @Gymmonkey. I think when they have a strong suck, it can tug at the ducts and kind of hurt from the back (totally a guess, but that's what it feels like to me). I'll usually just change the way I'm supporting/holding my breast tissue, and that helps. If it's a latch problem, you could try breaking her latch and see if it improves when she's reattached?
Just recently my LO when he eats sometimes will pull away from my nipple when eating and kick and starts to cry so I will have to give him a bottle any ideas as to why he would do that? He will do it once or twice a day.. other than that he eats great! Just want to make sure he is getting enough.
My LO will sometimes do that if he has to burp. Otherwise could it be that he thinks the milk is flowing too slow or too fast? If it seems to happen in the evening, he could be getting frustrated that the milk is flowing more slowly, as that's generally when supply is the lowest.
