This thread (sans awesome picture) has been posted on other BMBs and it looks like it's our turn ladies! What has happened that has made you realize in just a few weeks we'll be having babies?

For me it was Thursday when my coworker had her baby. She's 10 weeks ahead of me and everyone has compared our pregnancies since I got my BFP. Now that her little girl is born everyone is looking at me and asking if I'm nervous/ready/excited, I wasn't ready for the attention shift.

For me it was when the crib arrived. That's when I realized we don't have a nursery yet and, holy sh*t, this kid will be here in 10 weeks or less! Need to get a move on here!

When I washed the first load of baby clothes it was just all "whoa!" and then when my girlfriend had her baby last weekend and I went to visit her she said "this will be you very soon!" oh my lanta......

All of the crazy activity this weekend at L&D and the finalization of paperwork for the 11/28 C-section, for sure. It really put us in the moment of what the Big Day would be like. We are counting SINGLE DIGIT WEEKS ladies.

Also pulling together items for our overnight bags!

When my DH said yesterday that, after our shower next Sunday, we'll have a baby exactly 2 months later. Then he followed it up with the comment "unless he decides he wants to come through that glorious vagina of yours sooner than they want to cut him out"! I died in laughter.

The slightly painful braxton hicks. Totally normal but rather than just feeling like I want to be unpregnant, it sparked feelings of wanting baby girl to stay in as long as she needs. Like... oh yea... this isn't just a condition I'm in. I'm growing the body and brain that my child will have for the rest of her life!!!

When I was at the doctor the last time and they scheduled my glucose test, she mentioned that after that I would start the every other week appointments. No way!

this weekend.... DH finally finished the nursery!! I started getting all emotional and cried. She will be in it another 2 months!! 8 weeks to go!!

Seeing the 12 more Sundays until Christmas thing on FB and realizing I'll have a 2-ish week old by then! Now I feel like I need to get things NOW, but am still trying to hold out until after my showers (mid October and first of November). I have gotten a couple personal items for me though now..nursing tanks mostly.

This weekend as the nursery finally started filling up. We were gifted a ton of clothes. Crib is assembled. And travel system is put together.

I I showed the dog around the room and kept telling her "this is where your brothers going to sleep soon" over and over again. She could care less, but I needed to make myself believe it!

For me it was putting together the crib and glider last night (dresser gets done tonight, hopefully). Having furniture put up makes it way more real.

For my husband it was the realization that this baby is coming in 10ish weeks - not 4 months (for some reason he thought he had that long left). In his mind December means "Christmas" so he's expecting a Christmas baby - but the EDD is 12/8. I on the other hand have been drilling "thanksgiving" into my head so I'm not shocked if he's early.

We were at Ikea over the weekend and they had all the Christmas stuff out. For months, Christmas = baby for us, so that was crazy to see already.

My shower's not til November 5th and I'll be 35 weeks then and only have less than 4 weeks til we have a baby. Talking about that with FI and ordering the "essentials" really sank it in for us that this is happening!

After my appointment last week they will now be every other week. I think it will keep getting more real after next weekend when we take the birthing class and the weekend after is our shower. But even then the realization that any of us could have a baby at any time is a scary thought.

I also had a coworker who was 10 weeks ahead of me. And two friends who were 10-12 weeks ahead. All three babies arrived this past week and seeing the pictures on FB have been a huge reality check.
Still praying I go late so my IL's aren't here lol.

I thought I was a crazy lady for wanting to start packing my hospital bag but now you gals make me feel a little better.

The first one was at my appointment last week when I was told I wouldn't come in monthly anymore but every two-three weeks.

The chocolate milk I bought this morning also expires on my due date.... weird.

Not gonna lie, I'm still in some denial that there's a baby in there. I've looked at pictures of babies at mine's gestational age, and I'm like "that's not in there, no way." Haha. I think it's because I used to weigh a lot more than I did when I got pregnant, so it kind of just feels like I gained all the weight back and that it dances in my belly for me.

Hitting a 3rd trimester yesterday kind of jarred me some though. This has really been going faster than I expected. But when I saw Christmas trees up in Sam's yesterday, I thought, oh geez.

I had to be admitted for pre-term labor symptoms yesterday. They gave me fluids and a shot to stop the contractions. Thankfully, my water hadn't broken, and the cervix stayed closed. Turns out I had two infections, which were probably causing the symptoms. Doc and head nurse spent five minutes telling me how glad they were that I came in when I did. Doc doesn't think the incident will be repeated once I finish my round of antibiotics, and I have no restrictions.

BUT, when I went into L&D, I got the full treatment: gown, fetal heart monitor, contraction monitor, and IV pole. I heard our daughter's heartbeat for three hours and watched my contractions getting bigger and bigger and closer and closer together on the monitor. On the drive home, DH looked at me and said, "If we had lived in a different century, you might have had that baby tonight." Yeah, it definitely just got real in our household.

So good on you ladies who are already packing their hospital bags! Do it!

At my last appointment, at 28 weeks, when my doctor told me that I should plan to deliver at 38 weeks...and I scheduled the rest of my appointments through delivery......HOLY SHIT 10 weeks?!?! Now 9 weeks....my nursery is still a mess of just baby stuff everywhere, and only one crib not even completely put together.

@brittnic86 I love you girl, but I don't think we're making it to 38 weeks. Anything pas 34 I'll be thrilled.

@DiFazette gah why?!?!? I don't even think I've had BH yet lol. I have appointments at 32, 34, 36, 37, and 38 weeks scheduled right now. Apparently the girls are very comfortable, because they haven't moved positions in the last month. Baby B is transverse, and baby A is feet down, using baby B's feet as a pillow. If they don't move it's looking like a c-section for me. Also these are my first, aren't your first always late?! lol.

@brittnic86 My first was 4 days early. But I have never heard or met twins that can after 39 weeks. There just isn't enough room.

@Kate08Young yeah my doctor said that after 38 weeks with twins the placentas start to deteriorate. So she usually never lets them go past then. Said sometimes if things are still going good, she'll let them go to 39 weeks.

@brittnic86 according to a study I read recently nearly 60% of healthy di di twin pregnancies deliver between 36 and 38 weeks. I have some known issues from last pregnancy so I'm not in that 'healthy' category. Also - the moms I know who delivered recently went at 34 weeks with sudden onset pre-e and 33 weeks with natural labor progressions. May not be the case for you - but , don't get too comfy with that 38 number

@DiFazette Oh lord....

Yeah I literally haven't had ANY issues...so I'm hoping for the best. No weird things on ultrasounds (not yet anyway), no GD, not anemic, couple VERY light spotting occurrences but nothing my doctor was concerned about, good BP.

Hoping you can go as long as possible for your boys!

The number of work weeks left is officially single digit...and there's no way I can get everything done on my pre-baby list.

The nursery is 90% done.

I have 9 weekends until my predicted c section date (10 until due date).

We completed our target registry buying this weekend (I had Edd 2 weeks early).

The proposed CRA expires on my due date.

October 1st is SATURDAY!

What are you guys talking about? I'm not having another baby! I mean, my stomach is getting bigger and something is kicking me in vagina but my 2 year old is still sleeping in the nursery, no new baby clothes are washed and I haven't started planning my maternity leave.

I have another one. I just felt the baby move in two places at once - like he just did a BIG stretch. Freaking me out a bit because that means he's long enough to hit just below my ribs on the right side and my lower abdomen on the left side!

This - happened last week. I had a sharp pain in between the top of my pubic bone and my hip on the right side all day on Thursday. It was significantly worse when I was sitting down but not very noticeable while standing/walking. Then later in the day he stretched out - felt what I think was his head pushing into my hip and his feet up in my ribs on the other side.

And more generally speaking, being able to differentiate between his different body parts. I can feel his little feet when they push against me!

Other than that, watching birth videos in the childbirth class we're taking. I cry every time - it's a mix of fear and hormones. Like, in about 2 months I'm going to have a squishy little newborn on my chest! Holy shit!

Two things...
At my last appointment my MW said that we should schedule for 3 weeks out because we needed to split the difference bacause it starts every two week appointments soon... and then weekly after that! Wah??? And a reminder to remember to get my birth kit ordered and arrived by 36 weeks... How did that happen?

Then my episode of extreme cervix pain and pressure! Yikes!!!

Happened to me too! Felt Squish on both my left and right sides at the same time. Freaked me out a little. DH asked if I was sure there was just 1 in there...yes dear, I'm fairly certain there's only 1.

@karmba I'm pretty sure my little guy has been laying sideways for weeks. I usually feel him moving on the top right and bottom left at the same time. It's crazy to think they're big enough to reach that far!
