So the shoulder pain I was whining about after Labor Day keeps coming back. Starting to think it may be gallbladder related since it has been accompanied by pain at the very top of my ribs on the right side. Don't think it is baby girl kicking the ribs, I'm only 27w and uterus isn't that high yet. Will ask the doc at my next apt later this week. Until then, any advice?
@KattyC I don't have my gallbladder anymore but have heard it is extremely common for it to become finicky during a pregnancy. I would think some of the same rules apply either way to try to avoid attacks until you know the exact issues: refrain from fatty and greasy foods, increase your fiber foods, drink plenty of fluids, and make sure to ask your doctor ASAP about how to proceed long term. Good luck!
@Kate08Young UGGGGHHHHH that sucks. I'm sorry. I hope this doesn't continue!!
@KattyC I can't remember what I ate for breakfast so remind me - where is this pain? Gas can often get trapped up near the shoulder blade in your back. It's something they warn about after cesarians. Sounds silly, but try some gas x if that's the area.
@DiFazette - the shoulder aches along the blade, doesn't get better with massage or stretching. Been happening for a few weeks now. The ribs hurt right below my right boob, not a constant pain, but severe when it happens. Thought it was my bra so I sized up and went underwire free but it didn't help. I had no idea gas could get trapped up there, that's crazy! I appreciate the tip, and hope that's all it is.
@Kate08Young, hang in there!! Hope you are getting some relief and feeling better.
@Kate08Young I'm sorry glad you are taking care of yourself and the babe though!
@BabyRobbinsAdventure yes, BH are making me stop and breathe! No biggie, it's normal for me. They are interesting though.
My stomach muscles still ache, and I've got 10 weeks to go. So I FINALLY ordered a Blanqi support thing. They look like they're exactly what I need! Fingers crossed. I'm sure I will look just as hot as the lady in the picture too. Haha
I woke up with an extremely sore spot in my right breast, along with stabbing nipple pain. I am hoping this isn't the start of a clogged duct or mastitis. no redness yet but i'm watching for it. going to have to go out and get therapearls tonight, although i'm not sure how much they will help since i'm obviously not lactating yet.
does anyone else have pain when they touch their belly over where baby is? like sometimes i'll press on her foot or knee or something hard and it actually hurts. I don't remember this but it's been a long time.
So I think I found a way to describe what it feels like when the boy is jammed all the way up against my left side and I try to lay on that side without just saying it feels weird. You know when you roll over in bed or something and the fabric of your shirt rolls up and it's just there putting pressure on your ribs/side? It's kind of like that. Then he kicks right where my side is laying on the bed. *Does not like.*
I am sooooo hyper sensitive right now that overnight I was convinced I was having contractions ...until I farted. Sigh. The next several weeks are going to be so much anxiety.
I had severe swollen feet and ankles last week... so cankles were definitely in the house. I even iced them at night, elevated as much as I could, stay hydrated, etc., and nothing helped. Nothing. Until... the compression nylons I ordered arrived. They're even the lowest mmGh (I think that's what it's called). I got them Friday night in the mail and put them on Saturday morning right after I showered, as we had pics that morning and debated on the boots I was going to wear as a result of the size of my feet. I was in agony. Lo and behold... my feet/ankles went back to somewhat normal size. I was excited. I also wore them Sunday night to a concert where I stood most of the time and woke up Monday morning with, again, somewhat normal sized feet. Maybe it was just a "you started the 3rd trimester" thing and my body was hating me for it? IDK... but it was awful. I hope the theme of smaller feet continues. Now if only I could find something for my face to thin that at, as that is bloated... at least in pics.
I have also been having more pressure in the lower portion of my belly lately. I think my uterus is stretching some, but also maybe baby doing stuff that is causing the pressure down below. IDK, but it's not fun. FTM... so I have no idea if this is normal or not. I figure if was something worse, it would be more painful. Just pressure.
My hair has been awful this pregnancy. It's so flat and doesn't take to any of my normal volumizing products (shampoo and mousse). It's so sad. I did get a couple inches chopped off last week that seems to have added some bounce, but I know it will lose that soon, too. I was hoping for some added thickness and just gorgeous hair... as it's fine. Nope, I guess not this time around. I'll have to watch what it does afterwards... and I hope loss is not part of it. I can't lose anymore!
