To those who are having trouble with restless leg and leg cramps, talk to your doc/midwife about a magnesium supplement. It made a world of difference for me!
To piggy back on this - someone glorious here suggested taking magnesium for constipation. It has worked wonders! (Doc approved)
LO has wedged some part of himself right in between the top of my pubic bone and hip bone and it HURTS.I'm doing crazy stretches in my office trying to get him to move - I'm sure my staff think I'm bananas.
Somehow between the end of 1st tri and now I forgot how bad the fatigue was. It's back w a vengeance!! It's Friday, I'm home alone w no one bothering me, I should be doing 100 diff things around the house but instead I feel like I'm about to fall asleep face first into my salad. Holy cats.
so I got the charley horse from hell this morning. every day, I wake up around 4am and my left calf muscle feels tight so I instinctively straighten my leg out and flex my foot to try to stretch it, and it usually hurts for a second, then it lets go. well this morning, it started spasming to the point that I was thrashing in bed, woke up DH, and it wouldn't let up for 3 minutes. like I literally couldn't unflex it, it was completely stuck like that. holy sh!t that hurt. I've been limping all day and now feel like I pulled a muscle. I took a magnesium pill and ate a banana. wishful thinking probably. this better not be the new normal.
@zubenescamali I haven't gotten bad ones this pregnancy but 3 nights before my wedding I got one like you described. I couldn't walk without a limp for about a week and my leg was obviously swollen that whole time. Massage helped a tiny bit but it was sooooooooo painful. I'm glad my wedding dress was long but the limping looked a bit funny!
@zubenescamali I had one that bad a few weeks ago. My right leg locked up for 5 minutes. I was screaming and crying in pain and DH is freaking out because I couldn't tell him what was wrong. I limped for 4 days. It was not cool. That's when we agreed there needs to be Gatorade in the house for the rest of this pregnancy. No leg cramps since.

Baby trying to tunnel it's way out through my cervix (at least it's picked the right exit)! It's no freaking joke though! Seriously painful (like labor bad, but not labor). Even my hips/legs hurt from it! If it's still hurting tomorrow I'm going to go get it checked out.
@maamawaabangi I think I've been feeling the same! I felt enormous pressure really low, like on my cervix, but no pain like you described. Is this normal? As a FTM I have no idea what's normal or not. And I've had a miscarriage before so of course every weird feeling just scares the crap out of me. I feel him kicking really low all the time too, it's like he just likes to hang out the farthest down he can go.
@maamawaabangi I felt pain in my cervix from dd2, she was head down and always had her hands in her face. She would stretch her hands into my cervix, and randomly punch. It ached from her violent actions! But yours sounds more serious, and I'm not going to lie, you have a little more experience than me. It could be your pelvic girdle pain, I've read about it https://www.babycentre.co.uk/a546492/pelvic-pain-spd
New symptom from me....butt pressure. Not sure if I'm full of poo as others have mentioned or baby is just pressing up against the back of my uterus closer to my butt? Is that even a thing? Either way, when I sit to go to the bathroom I often feel it and sometimes I have to like, get up off the seat because it hurts.
@sourlemon@phoenix870509 somehow knowing both of you have experienced leg cramps that bad makes me feel better. I'm icing it and going to try to get in more electrolytes. thanks!

@SmashJam I have experienced that very same feeling too. Not sure if that's possible but it seems like it could be. My list of doc/nurse questions is ever-growing, sigh.
Interesting super duper sucks symptom: DH and I had sex Thursday. I guess it was pretty good...because I believe it led to intense lower uterine pain ALL DAY yesterday. Like I couldn't stand straight and was literally crying trying to stand up/ roll over / do anything. I can't think of any reason besides the sex for this. And it's about 75% better today. So it was like an extremely sore muscle. DH almost dragged to the hospital at 8pm he was so worried. I guess I'll have to break it to him it probably was sex and maybe I need to go back on pelvic rest (self prescribed this time).
One symptom I'm not complaining about is my hair. For whatever reason since I've been pregnant it's been staying cleaner for longer. I have always had to wash it daily regardless of the time of day it was washed. Since I've been pregnant I can easily wash it and let it be the next day too. So nice (I'll be forever jealous of those of you who can go 2-3 days). I know pregnancy can do things to your hair, my sister's mom's hair went curly with pregnancy and never went back to straight. I'm hoping this cleaner hair thing is the case for me. Constant hair washing has been a pain since puberty.
I had super straight thin blonde hair until my 12th birthday. Then overnight (it seemed) I hit puberty got acne, braces, and an afro. I literally had an afro. One night at family dinner, my grandma said "don't worry, it will probably change again when you get pregnant". I was 12! 12! It's actually one of the funny stories we always tell about her, especially after she passed last year.
Fyi: I hit "unpuberty" when I was 20 and my hair calmed down a bit. It stayed thick and somewhat curly but not anything that requires an afro pick like as a teen. It got thicker during my first pregnancy and I had the post pregnancy hair loss...but it just went back to normal. This pregnancy I haven't even noticed a change.
@sourlemon oh geez, I'm laughing at 12 year old you contemplating pregnancy as relief for unwieldy hair. smh. My grease mop has calmed down too with age, I used to not be able to even touch it or allow anyone else to touch it or it would be disgusting. I've not noticed that my hair is particularly thicker with pregnancy and it's always been pretty fine to begin with so I'm kind of nervous about what it will look like if I have postpartum fall out.
My paternal grandmother went bald like a man when she was younger and has worn a hairpiece the rest of her life. None of us know why she went bald, but my sister and I have always been low-key worried it was something hereditary. She worked as a nurse before she married and always did color and perms and things to her hair and so I've always hoped it was exposure to something in the 50's-60's that caused it and nothing we could inherit.
@Austenista my hair is the same way! It's always been super oily and I can only stretch a wash one day with dry shampoo. During pregnancy it's been a lot better and looks decent the second day. It's been move wavy, but I'm not sure if that's pregnancy related or just how my hair is because I've completely stopped blow drying haha.
@sourlemon not hair related, but the other muscle-cramp-ache thing after sex, that happened to me a few weeks ago. I just ended up going to sleep, and it was mostly better the next day. I think it's our muscles just on overload. Idk...
@yellingbanana it was horrible yesterday (day after sex) but definitely getting better today. I actually made breakfast and have done cleaning. But I can tell I'm already getting sore again just from that little bit of work. Yesterday I cried just rolling over. I might just be done with sex. Only 10 weeks plus 8-12 after birth lol.
I've felt a definite change in movement the past few days. Before it was kicks/punches and small movements. Now it feels like this child is constantly doing flips and my entire stomach moves. It's such a weird sensation.
Yeah, not my pelvis... All in the cervix. It's better today and I think must have been some crazy maneuver the baby was doing and it was hurting until I got it moved away from my cervix. But I'm still taking it easy and watching myself for any thing like blood or mucus. I had a lot of the warning signs for preterm labor, but I think that's because it was so painful that it made my uterus irritable for a time.
Any BTDT moms have increased boob size this pregnancy? I'm fitting into my PP bra after DS1 right now and I can't imagine it will fit in 2 months.
YUP! I'm up a cup size + and chest size - which is more uncomfortable. I don't have to leave the house and go anywhere fancy too often so I wear stretchy nursing bras most of the time. I refuse to spend more money right now because I already bought new bras this pregnancy that I've now outgrown.
My hair hasn't changed in pregnancy, but about 18 months ago it started getting very wavy. Weirdest thing ever, and I still can't figure out how to style it well, so I'm stuck straightening it all the time now. I used to be able to sleep on it wet and wake up to it being stick straight.
Not a BTDT mom but yes to the increased boobage! Went from a 36DD to a 40F. And just starting third tri at 29 weeks. So I know the boobs will only get bigger, especially once my milk comes in. My mom was a 40J with my little brother so I'm not too surprised.
@ashleaf2018 my mom has boobs like that, and she has compared hers to gallon jugs after I was born. My whole life I was terrified it would happen to mine at puberty and then a little concerned about it when I got pregnant. So far nilch, nada. Still wearing my regular bras.
Thinking of those sizes makes me hurt for your back, shoulders, and neck. Big hugs.

Welcome to the club! I started this round at a 38j and am currently a 42k. I hope my milk comes like last time, and just firms everything up. Otherwise I will require a reduction just to be able to stand up- or a butt implant

I'm on the small titty committee....I'm lucky to fill a B when not pregnant! I actually filled it last time when my milk came in but they went down fast. This time I'm filling a B already...we shall see if it gets up to C this time. I think I bought my nursing bras in a C cup but they are obviously too big. As the only comfy (non wired) bras I have, I'm wearing them anyways. Wishful thinking I think.
Little bit of a long story, but I'm 4'11" and I used to weigh around 100-120 lbs. Then I got Nexplanon birth control, huge mistake. It works well for some people but I had a bad reaction to it and gained 80 pounds in less than 6 months. Pre pregnancy I was 195 lbs. My boobs have always been 36DD no matter how much I weighed though. With the MS I've had I lost weight and got down as low as 170 lbs. I didn't expect my boobs to change that much just because they never have even with the massive weight gain I had. I technically haven't gained any weight this pregnancy but my boobs have just ballooned.
On the boob convo, I got some extenders for the backs of my normal bras so I could wear them for 'special occasions'- I usually wear a nursing bra otherwise cause they're more comfortable. I was 34ddd pre pregnancy and I'm afraid to even get fitted now. Just give me sports bras or nursing bras! Or no bra! I don't wanna be restrained!!
Oh boobs. Always a surprise! This is baby #3, and I've got bras that range in size between 34B - 36DD. Right now I'm on 34D, and they reached that faster with each pregnancy. Then when my milk comes in, they're 36DD.

That's amazing! Im impressed at that range!!! For real... I only go up 1 cup size... 34B normally to 34C.
I'm also usually a 34E or F, depending on the bra, but have only needed the band extenders so far. I have a short torso so my rib cage started expanding a while ago. I'm sure the girls will be massive once my milk comes in...I'm kind of scared.

Yup. my boobs have been all over the board over 8 years and 3 pregnancies. I've gone from 34C to 36D up to 32H briefly back down to a deflated 32C now up to 32DDD. I'm a little horrified about the post-BF deflation that will happen this time. Each time they've gone down a little further
