My kids have been sick this week. Nothing too bad, mostly a fever and sore throat that is helped a lot by Advil/Tylenol. Yesterday was my turn to stay home all day and today is my husband's. So I clearly just went on my way to work to have a nice breakfast and a gourmet coffee. Now I'm sitting at my desk and bumping for a few minutes.
Also, keeping an almost-6 year old home from school is SO MUCH EASIER than a younger kid. There is light at the end of the tunnel if you're not there yet with older kids!
Me: 1979 * Husband: 1976 * Little girl: 2010 * Little guy: 2013 * MMC: 2016 * Last baby: EDD 2/11/17!
1. Today is my works give back day and instead of giving back I'm "working from home" and by working from home I'm getting a parental massage and buying frames at ikea for the nursery.
2. We have a fire stick that is cracked and that's how we watch all our tv. This morning instead of the American version of paw patrol it was the austrailian one and they all had on little austrailian hats and had accents and it made the show a lot cuter.
3. We cuddle on the couch and watch a tv show to help introduce ourselves to the day.
Yesterday I was pretty sick all day and actually did end up in the ER. At one point I had tried to eat an apple with peanut butter for the protein and ended up throwing up on the plate I was using. I ran to get rid of the plate at the sink, and dishes hadn't been done. While I was standing there I threw up again in the sink. When I felt a little bit better I did try to rinse everything off and down the drain as much as I could but I didn't have the energy to do the actual dishes by unloading the dishwasher and reloading. My husband very very rarely does the dishes so I was going to tell him to just stay away from the sink and I would take care of it.
Except last night while I was in the ER with my mom apparently he took it upon himself to do the dishes. So I came home I see that the dishwasher has been run and the sink is clear. And my mouth is zipped.

S/O from some UO's. My kids are 9.5 and turning 5 next week. We have never been on vacation with them without other family members because traveling with kids is such a hassle.
@16isourluckynumber so ours is cracked with a kodi app to stream anything but you can legally buy seasons through Amazon. They're like 25 a season or something
My FFFC is that when I first started posting on the board, I always got @PerraSucia and @spicyweiner confused because they both had pics of small dogs and I always had to check to make sure I tagged the right one. Sorry ladies. Lol

My FFFC: while I'm getting all the hand me downs from my best friend for baby girl, I still went and spent over 200$ today on clothes for her. Like I told my husband (who was appalled), I do appreciate hand me downs but I don't like everything I get and I wanna spoil her a bit too.

Being an Ariel fan myself I didn't mind seeing so many avatars but I can see how it'd get confusing. The various water/sea scapes confused me at one point.
@peachesnbean I'm also feeling inspired for a new avatar but no clue where to start... I was waiting for my damn username to change, but after countless attempts from theknot and messaging admins, it looks like I'm stuck.
@concreteangell nothing wrong with buying her some of her own things too! We've kept all our clothes from DS so we're pretty set in clothes for this new boy, but he's definitely getting his own cute outfits too!
My confession is my MIL keeps posting links to her "business" (think Scentsy, thirtyone, Tupperware) to my Facebook timeline even though she isn't speaking to me... so I keep deleting them.

I secretly love it when my husband has to work on Saturdays...because then I get the whole day to do whatever I want, even if that means vegging out on the couch for all 8 hours.
Since we're discussing avatars, sorry I still refuse to change my glacier pic! I don't care if it looks like the beach pics.
My FFFC is that this baby was made on the trip that photo is from... and also the fact that he was "made in Alaska" is 100% spurring me on in dressing him in tiny woodsman clothes and an outdoor themed nursery.
I tried to call it an Alaska nursery but DH thought that would be weird. I have no intentions of telling him that's why when he's older, so what's the harm?
@concreteangell I absolutely understand!! We've been collecting tons of hand me downs, but I still feel no shame in buying new things when the mood strikes. Some of the hand me downs...yeah not our style lol
@Amber_Waves I just had a huge light bulb moment with your avatar. Love it
My FFFC: Both me and H woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. As I walked into the kitchen to start breakfast I see all of the dishes still sitting in the sink from dinner. Even though H said he'd clean them before bed, somehow while I was showering and putting DS to bed, H didn't take care of it. This is one of my biggest pet peeves, and I hate waking up to a dirty kitchen. When I asked him what happened he snapped, " You can take care of them today. It's not like you do anything all day anyways". WTF?
So I've been writing down everything I've done all forking day(including 2yo meltdowns) on a list. It feels super petty, but IDGAF! I feel like my list seems childish and will just make him laugh, but seriously I'm feeling under appreciated. Our house is pretty damn clean 24/7, our son is clean and dressed, and I usually always take care of dinner. TF?!
@WinchesterGirl don't worry I started remember screen names and people's stories as opposed to avatars. Ps. If you're doing woodsy themed nursery, hobby lobby has a great section in their kids decor. That's my sons theme and I wish I would've gone to hobby lobby first!
@Amber_Waves oh my gosh I didn't realize that's what your avatar was, but it's completely perfect! And no I didn't think yours looked like a beach scene, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. Now that I see it in its full glory, don't ever change it, ever.
@kirstynikole LOL. Thank you. And a big ol' "OH HELL NO" to your husband. I also HATE waking up to dirty dishes. My husband does stuff like take his dirty glass from the tv room to the kitchen and then place it on the counter directly above the dishwasher. WHAT IS THAT?! I support you in your making of the list.
@Amber_Waves oh dear God the water glass... I so feel your pain!!!! I had to buy my H a designated cup for water, because if not he'd keep grabbing 4 different glasses and leaving them on different counters half full. I'm super neat so his random leaving this everywhere drives me batty. I'm glad someone else gets my dirty dishes issue!! If he laughs at the list I may explode though.
I don't know what a patronus is I read the first Harry Potter book back in the day, and have seen bits and pieces of some of the movies. But I Googled the definition...and then now-
@kirstynikole I am the water glass person. I will frequently find 3 on my bedside table, 1 on the dresser, plus maybe 1 on the counter or downstairs if we've watched a movie recently. They all have water in them. I usually round them up right after we start the dishwasher.
