After a frozen egg cycle that we never got to even transfer I'm finally coming back to the boards as we will be starting our 3 Fresh cycle. It is my last one within my warranty program at my IVF clinic. So here's to hoping it all works out
My retrieval date is actually 11/1. But I figured I'd join for Oct anyway lol My whole schedule is funky this time around. My Doctor wanted to try a different protocol that was a longer stim cycle so we can try to get more eggs.
We have been low in the egg count Cycle #1: 5 retrieved - 3 fertilized Cycle #2: 7 retrieved- 7 fertilized
Anyone else do a cycle like this? She called it the SHER Protocol
Here is my calendar (that I know of right now)
Estrace 9/11 - 9/24 Birth Control 9/25 - 10/9
Lupron 10/5 - 10/14
Endo Scratching & Baseline US 10/12
GA 10/15
Estradiol Valerate 10/15 & 10/18
Normal stims - 10/22 - ??
Retrieval 11/1

HI Ladies,I'm finally home from my transfer and officially PUPO. Things apparently went well. The had to put me under for the transfer as well. But, I had 2 awesome embabies transferred. One AA quality, one AB quality both got to expanded Blastocyst stage, which is what she wanted. She seemed very happy with the outcome considering where I was 9 months ago.
@Hoping4Success & @Hopeful_mom - I had 43 follicles at my baseline scan before starting stims. Wednesday will be my first US since then... hoping to see some nice big ones!
My E2 from this morning went up to 534. They're keeping me on the same doses for the next 2 days until my US on Wednesday.

@Jsmorrissey - Congrats on being PUPO!! My trial transfer and both of my IUIs were AWEFUL. I'm glad they put you under so you weren't super stressed. My REs plan is just have me take some Xanax before my ET... not that that'll help with the pain, just make me not care as much, I guess.

@Hopeful_mom I'm so sorry this IVF didn't work out, FX for IUI. Infertility is really tough on relationships, make sure you look after each other and stay strong as a couple.
@byrneme Congratulations, one is all it takes. Enjoy the break for your body while you wait.
@derrian welcome to this board but sorry you need to be here, wow that is a long protocol!
AFM (as for me) Based on bloods today I'm not triggering tonight, have to wait till tomorrow and do ER on Friday. Which at least means I have a few days to recover but I'm so ready to get these eggs out - feeling so bloated and crappy!
Well ladies i triggered last night my er is tommorow i woke up with a headache thanks to pragnyl ive been fine all through stims until today ugh er is tommorow early am
@Hoping4Success - that sucks about the headache!! has your RE said you can take tylenol to help it? i've seen on here some doctors are fine with it while others try to not tell us to take any...
@Monica54321 - I'm so going to be stalking you through your cycle! sorry if that sounded creeper-ish at all...lol. i've always had 35-45 follicles at previous day 3/baseline ultrasounds, so i'll be curious to see how many eggs you have retrieved, etc...(my infertility issue is more on the genetic side than the "production" side)...so i've been wondering about how my RE might have to adjust my meds and/or do a lupron trigger and prepare/plan for possible ohss if we end up with so many mature follicles and eggs retrieved...
@caseyw8784 yes i just spoke to my nurse and she said only Tylenol nothing else so i just took it and will ice it and go back to sleep get some rest before my retrieval tomm in the am
Just got back from day 5 us and my RE was happy if not cautiously optimistic. 10 follicles in each side. Biggest at 14mm. She had me take Ganirelix right then and to continue Follistim. Depending on e2 level, probably dec. Dose for tomorrow. I should probably be more worried about ohss, but I'm so excited they cooperated that I'm celebrating this win. @Hoping4Success feel better! Good luck and fx for successful retrieval. I'm prone to headaches too, and know these hormone headaches are brutal :-(

@JESSABER0414 thank you yes i used to get them alot during my cycles but accupunture helped but of course the trigger shot set it off i spoke to my nurse she said its from the trigger and i can take only tylenol so i did and resting today before tommorow er
I've had terrible headaches since starting stims, as well. Tylenol helps some, but not much. I'm ready to be DONE with stimming, for sure.
As far as monitoring goes, I feel like I've had fewer ultrasounds than most people... here's what I've had for monitoring... what about the rest of you all?
cd3 (before starting stims) - Ultrasound & E2
cd7 (after 3 days of stims) - E2
cd9 (after 5 days of stims) - E2
cd11 (after 7 days of stims) - Ultrasound & E2 (tomorrow!)
7 days of stimming with no ultrasounds seem fishy to anyone else? Or am I just getting too antsy?!

@Monica54321 i was on stims for 11 days no once a headache only bloating, break out and really exhausted no headaches i had to do my regular stims last night took a double dose of ganaralix and then the trigger nothing was new but the teigger and and extra dose or ganaralix i emailed my nurse she said its from the trigger shot as far as ultrasounds i went in every 2 days when i started stim well the first night i started was a friday and went in on tuesday but from there on every other day for bloodwork and ultrasound
@monica54321 - Thanks! They usually give transfer patients valium, but apparently that would not have been strong enough for me HAHA! I had an US and BW almost every other day after I started my stims. They really need to keep track of your estradiol level and see how your follies are responding. All RE's are different as well as our protocols, but I definitely wouldn't be afraid to pose the question to them. How do they know how you are responding and how big your follies are if they aren't doing US's.
@lamaricelita88 - Wasn't your transfer supposed to be yesterday as well?? Am I totally off??? My apologies, it gets so hard to keep up with everyone.
@hoping4success - I also got headaches on the stims. The only thing I was allowed to take was Tylenol. Acupuncture helped too! Hang in there. If you're anything like me, I would much prefer cramps over a headache. Excited about tomorrow for you!!!
@nellin keep us posted on Friday's ER!!! you're getting close!
@derrian - Welcome, and sorry you find yourself here!!!
@jessaber0414 - Grow grow grow!!! Keep us posted on ER
@Jsmorrissey yes id take any side effects but headaches i cant deal with them for sure my fsce has broken out so bad doesnt bother me the headache does ur right anything im relaxing today i see my accupunturist today as well
@Monica54321 wow that is some count very excited to see you continue on! JESSABER0414 wow that sounds super too, way to go ovaries, hope the all continue to mature at the same time! Nellin thanks so much I do appreciate it, this is really so hard! And he does not make this any easier and its sad and frustrating at the same time. I just feel like hes never as disappointed as he already has kids if that makes sense. How is your follie count what are you looking at? Sorry you're not feeling great but you're on your way so that's awesome!!! Its funny I felt more bloated after I was done stemming, go figure. derrian best of luck on your upcoming cycle! byrneme congrats hope u have a great transfer! Hoping4Success best of luck tomorrow!
UPDATE - I changed my status to IUI on our spread sheet I know i should be happy I at least get to try that...but we'll see if it actually happens. Was suppose to do one this morning and another emergency screwed that up SO we shall aim for tomorrow morning and see what happens. I do have an okish frozen sample that I will use if I can't do fresh. I shall say fx I don't need IVF after right!

@Joslynj11 That is so frustrating about the insurance! I hope you are able to have a relaxing couple months in the mean time, but also that things work out so you can start again soon!
Hopeful_mom So sorry to hear the results were poor for IVF this time, but fx for a successful IUI!
@BabyBuckWay Really hoping your dr. is wrong and that the numbers keep on rising!!
@PCOSat25 I listened to some of the circle + bloom program during my last IUI and liked it, I'm planning to listen to it more during my IVF cycle. It was very relaxing during a stressful time. I was able to download it onto my phone, but I have an android and not sure if it's different with iPhone.
@derrian Welcome back to the boards and hoping the new protocol gives great results!
@Jsmorrissey Glad to hear the transfer went well, best of luck!!!
Still just waiting for AF. I have a question though, our plan is to do retrieval this upcoming cycle, freeze any embryos, and then do a FET the cycle after. So would I just put FET on the spreadsheet? Right now I have it as IVF/FET.

Well, I'm gonna have to step away from this thread. Still going forward with an ER from my sister in October, but no FET plans for me any time soon.
I took a HPT yesterday randomly (because I am nuts and because I have been waiting eons for an actual period after my failed FET in July), and it was positive.
Went to the clinic today for a Hcg level, and it was 119,644. Have an US scheduled for tomorrow, but all things point toward me being about 8 weeks pregnant. We are beyond shocked and won't believe it until the US tomorrow.
Wishing each of you the very best of luck with your IVF and FETs! I appreciate the kind words of support I got from my posts earlier in the thread.

So I just spoke to a genetic counselor from the lab that would be doing the PGD testing on our embryos and got a lot of answers. Unfortunately they're not the "right" kind of genetic counselors who would be able to advise on if we only wanted to transfer girl embryos back, and the risks that they would have even as a carrier, let alone a full mutation...so I'll be making that phone call tomorrow or Friday.
The genetics lab did say that I'm basically SOL if I can't get any samples from biological family members. Even my half-sister, who has been AWESOME with getting tested (not her fault that her doctor's lab kept contaminating the tests and kept having to get them redone...ugh!)...they said they can't use her sample since she has a different father than I do, and the lab wouldn't be able to tell which X chromosome came from him or from our biological mother...so, crap.
Glimmer of hope - the counselor did mention that they've done another kind of test where they actually try to count the number of repeats in each embryo (standard testing will just tell you which embryos have the affected chromosome, but not if it's a carrier or a full mutation...) so I asked if that might be a viable option for us. She needs to speak to her boss (who had that case and who is out of the country right now but will be back next week) to get more details, BUT...she said it would be much more expensive...like, $1,000+ PER EMBRYO. Oy. Our insurance is covering this PGD testing, luckily, but i have no idea whether or not they would cover something like this! She said she would call me back by the middle of next week to update me on if this test is possible without my bio mom's sample.
Lots to talk about with DH...speaking with her again brought back in force all the feelings and reasons why we didn't NOT want to do PGD...so if I had to choose right now, if that newer test is available to us, we will probably be waiting to do an ivf cycle so we can be sure that we don't pass on the mutation...
@caseyw8784 Wow what an update from you girlie. I have you in my heart and I hope you and your Hubby are able to come to a decision that you are both happy with. Praying for you girlie.

So, an update for me... Had our US today, and they confirmed that I am 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant, with an EDD of 5/6/17. We saw the little embryo and yolk sac, and could see the heartbeat at 131bpm!! I have another US on 10/3, then an appt with a regular OB/GYN on 10/7 to get started with her and to get screening for Downs, etc.
My RE told us to buy a lottery ticket, and that this is definitely NOT the embryo they implanted. We are devout atheists, but if we weren't I would definitely call this a miracle pregnancy!
Thanks for all the well wishes and support! I wish you all the very smoothest of journeys from here on out.

As far as monitoring goes, I feel like I've had fewer ultrasounds than most people... here's what I've had for monitoring... what about the rest of you all?
- cd3 (before starting stims) - Ultrasound & E2
- cd7 (after 3 days of stims) - E2
- cd9 (after 5 days of stims) - E2
- cd11 (after 7 days of stims) - Ultrasound & E2 (tomorrow!)
7 days of stimming with no ultrasounds seem fishy to anyone else? Or am I just getting too antsy?!Diagnosed with unexplained infertility
IUI #1- April '16 - BFN
IUI #2 - May '16 - BFN
IVF Fresh Xfer #1 (1 blastocyst) - Sept '16 - BFN
FET #2 - 11/8/16 (2 blastocysts) - Beta on 11/18
4 more blastocysts on ice
Thank you ladies!

Hopeful_mom So sorry to hear the results were poor for IVF this time, but fx for a successful IUI!
@BabyBuckWay Really hoping your dr. is wrong and that the numbers keep on rising!!
@Hoping4Success Best of luck with your retrieval tomorrow!

Chemo killed my ovaries (along with a BRCA1 mutation, which causes DOR)

@Hopeful_mom Men deal with tough stuff differently to us, and I know that my partner feels like he needs to be the strong optimistic one who supports me. Men don't have much of a role in infertility treatments other than to support us.
@nellin good luck with your trigger and retrieval!
@mandasand & @derrian congrats on getting a protocol

@PNW12RN - such an amazing story!!! I am beyond ecstatic for you. Dying to know how the US went?
@hoping4success - YAYAY!!! Keep us posted!
