Check out a mybrestfriend nursing pillow if you haven't already. I imagine it would be pretty helpful after a c section.

Backing up the my brest friend pillow. I got the twin one for obvious reasons but it wraps around your back and fully supports the babe.
@NicholeL16, it would be fine as far as your abdomen, but engorged breasts are no joke. It was about 5 months before I could comfortably lay on my stomach all night without leaking everywhere or ending up in a lot of pain.

unfortunately for us tummy sleepers, once your milk comes in you still won't be comfortable on your tummy for awhile. Possibly not even until you've weaned and you don't want to ignore the discomfort because mastitis.

I just got mine and can't wait to use it. Haha, the things that excite me these days. I always used a Boppy before and it killed my back. Obviously I haven't used this one yet but it looks like it's going to be a whole lot better!

I bought a couple of those Kushies Waterproof Changing Pads... Love them. But I'm confused. One side is printed & soft fabric, the other side is sorta shiny and very waterproof. Am supposed to lay baby on the printed side or the waterproof side? It just seems like the shiny/waterproof side could wipe clean easily whereas the soft/printed side would not.

The nice side up, shiny side down! the shiny stuff is what makes it not leak through!

Do they need washed frequently?
That will strictly depend on how often your babe pukes, poops, or your boobs leak on it and it gets smelly. My second baby was a horrible puker so I didn't use my pillow cause I hated washing the cover every second day, cause yes they are a pain to get on and off.

@sjo_thetwins - yeah, unfortunately like @Schell2013 said- they may or may not require frequent washing. If you have a big spitter then maybe throw a little blanket over it? My poor DS had so many heel sticks from being jaundiced that we had blood on ours. And spit....and probably anything else you can think of. Babies.
Kushies are so great. We still have 5 or 6 from DS. They went far to save the changing pad covers in the early days.
This might be extra duh bc I'm trying to figure out when to set my next alarm while super sleep deprived.....do they feed every so many hours based on time between feedings or time feedings began? Like if she eats from 5-5:45 then she should eat at latest (if letting no more than 3 hours pass) beginning at 8 or 8:45??
@UponAStar16 it's based on when the feeding began, but you'll adjust once you get to know your baby's eating habits. So at first, it'll be feed 5 to 5:45, feed again at 8, then again at 11.

I was afraid of that. When I got it I thought how in the hell would I get this back on if I needed to wash it?
@Kaessi I'm going to guess it's personal preference because I only have 1 set of sheets for my own bed (I'm a take off, wash, put back on type of person), so for the baby I have 2. My go-to, and a back up for when they leak at night I can quickly change the bed and put them back in and do the wash in the morning. I also have 3 bassinet sheets, 1 came with it and I could only buy in packs of 2.

my friend recommended using 2 waterproof pads - one fitted on your mattress and one that lays on top so you don't have to totally strip it, but I think I might just do what you did
@kaessi we have three regular woven sheets and two jersey sheets (they're a little warmer for winter), but you probably only really need two or three. We've definitely had nights when we needed to change the sheets twice, so maybe three just to be safe.
@Kaessi I am thinking I want 4 total. Right now I only have ONE (seriously) but he won't be in his crib until January. I have 2 bassinet sheets and would like one more. It might be overkill but I would rather not be pushing it if we have a bad night.

@Kaessi we have 5 sheets and 4 waterproof covers as well as the mattress in a plastic covering. Sure hope that's enough.
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
I have 5 sheets and 2 mattress protectors. Five sheets is more than enough but they were all gifts and as a FTM I just kept them all. 3 or 4 would be plenty.
I need advice with arrangement of car seats. We will have a booster seat (just the bottom part) for our nephew who is always with us, my dd's car seat (convertible in one car and a booster seat with the back on in the other) and the infant seat and then the baby's car seat and base.
Should I put the baby in the middle or the baby behind passenger and my nephews booster in the middle?
@maf9866 the safest place for a car seat is the middle, so most experts recommend putting the youngest in the center. It's probably a little more inconvenient to get the seat in and out, but since your nephew's seat is just a booster, it sounds like it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Just wanted to say that I've read it can increase the risk of SIDS to have layers in the crib and that it's safest to simply have the firm mattress and one fitted sheet. Most mattresses are waterproof also so a waterproof cover wouldn't be necessary in such a case. I haven't looked into it much but I did just want to add those two cents.

I've heard this too because I thought layering the sheets was genius. I do have a waterproof mattress pad though under the single sheet.

I never felt like I had enough sheets with DS. I now have his old ones plus my MIL found 5 more at various yard sales for us and I might finally feel like it's enough
I have two crib sheets- it's what I had for DS and it worked out fine! I also have 3 spares from DS that I can use for emergency. My co sleeper has two sheets as well.
How is everyone organizing their clothes/drawers? I've hung his sleepers and nicer shirts/sweaters. In his drawers I have onesies and then there are the cute sets from carter's. Idk if I should just stack them, or put them in there by outfits. I'm probably overthinking this... but would love some advice and to find out what others have done

Kushies are so great. We still have 5 or 6 from DS. They went far to save the changing pad covers in the early days.
