Petty Problem Saturday! 9/10/16

Re: Petty Problem Saturday! 9/10/16

  • My petty problem is that my friend invited me to an event at Sephora where they're going to reveal many of the new holiday collections that will be released soon for Christmas and whatnot. I'm excited but I also don't really want to buy anything because I have so many eyeshadow pallets already. But then some of the collections are so pretty. I'll update you guys on my glaring dilemma later  :D

  • My toddler has decided that 4:30 am is the perfect time to wake up.  Every morning.  Sometimes he goes back to sleep.  Sometimes he does not.

This. I am so sick of it.
  • The struggle is real........if I want to stay in bed and be lazy or if I want to get up and get my day started.

  • My youngest has a nasty cold and slept with me half the night. She coughed so hard she barfed and now I'm grossed out hoping I don't catch her cooties.

  • One more for the super tired train. My toddler decided he had to go poop at 5 this morning and needed help cleaning his bottom. Of coarse after all that he did not want to go back to sleep.

  • Add one to the toddler crazy train. My DD took a nice long nap yesterday and I went up to get her as soon as I saw her move on the monitor. Literally in that three minutes she took off her pants and diaper and peed EVERYWHERE. Let's just say her Minnie didn't fair too well. Ugh gross.

  • I have a chiropractor appointment this morning since he was out Thursday during my regular time. It will relieve some lower back and neck stress, but there are SO many people in here. I'm going to be here all morning.
  • I had an hour and a half sleeping streak and then CVS called to refill my prescription that I've told them for the last three months is on mail order. If I could have reached through the phone and erased my number for them, I would have!

  • This is the first weekend in 3 weeks we haven't been moving, working on the house remodel and had people in town helping with all that and of course I've got  a cold! My fever from yesterday is gone but all the mucus and congestion is here in full effect. So much for time with husband and friends!
  • All my nerdy nail talk in the FFFC board has me wanting to paint my nails, but I'm to impatient to sea with painting my right hand and I don't trust anyone else to do it for me. Lol

Between my molar teething toddler and this 10 week old puppy... Oh, and getting our house ready to be put up for sale, I'm fluffing exhausted.

  • @Michi1382 mine has been bad too at night. Just the youngest one. She has been coming out of her room in the night and been horrible to put to bed. I don't know what happened to the kids that would sleep anywhere. I've actually resorted to setting up our play pen in her room so she can't get out (thankfully she is short and can't climb out) and she knows she is stuck in it. But good grief kid. 2 year olds are NOT fun.  :|

  • Everybody's making me so excited for parenthood!

My petty problem is that my nails are growing like the dickens. I have no idea how I'm going to clip my toenails. they may just grow forever
  • @jennielu you deserve a pedicure. :)
  • Haha thanks @mrszoess. Maybe @krzyriver can hook me up :)
  • @jennielu Bring me some spicy chicken and you've got yourself a deal!  ;)

Thats my other petty problem. I'm craving all the spicy foods right now, but everything in the house is mild cause my stomach couldn't handle it!

  • My clothes dryer decided to die today without any signs it was wearing out.  My husband has checked every switch and fuse except the motor and they are all fine.  Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new one.  I was looking forward to enjoying this payday and picking up some postpartum things for myself, the hubs, and my son but now that's all going to a new dryer.

Hah!  It's really not that bad most of the time.  I'm sure this awake at 4 a.m. thing is just a phase.  At least I hope it is.
  • @UFJen I feel your pain! I'm sick too.  It started all on Tuesday with a fever and pains, which are thankfully gone, but now I'm left with all the crappy symptoms that seem to refuse to go away! Are you taking anything for your cold or are you just trying to ride it out?

Add to the sick kid band wagon and my petty problem: I hate the smell of Vicks (hate hate hate hate it) but my dd freaks out when we suggest putting it on her. Last night and tonight she really needed it and I got fed up with the labored breathing and coughing (note: she did also take a 100% natural honey medicine for coughing but she needed the added help) so I ended up slathering it on my chest and having her snuggle up to me. It instantly had her taking deeper breathes but it's so terrible for me: my eyes water and I can barely breathe!

I feel like it's super petty because I'm not the one who has been sick for a week now and it made her feel better but blah I can't wait to clean it off of me!!
  • My petty problem is like usual I have a ton of stuff I want to get done today, but didn't use any of my time yesterday to do anything on the list. Instead, I binge watched Catfish and crocheted. I guess the upside is now the baby blanket is done.
  • I feeling super sorry for myself today. I feel like all I've done this week is sit at home by myself and it's starting to get really lonely and boring. H has to work today I just want a day off with him :(

Lol, I keep telling myself I'm gonna get back on. First, I said I would reactivate after my baby shower but that was 3 weeks ago. Now I'm tentatively saying by my birthday which is Saturday. I'll def be back on before LO comes because I have friends/family out of town who will want updates.

  • @LauraPCOS ugh I'm sorry you are sick too! I took Tylenol when I had a fever Friday, but other than that I'm just hydrating and riding it out. I feel the mucus breaking up because I have a cough now, but it sucks to just sit and wait to feel better.
  • @UFJen ya I did the same, Tyenol to break the fever but just riding it out - though I have an OB appt tomorrow I might ask if there is something I can take cause we're reaching the week mark.  If you have the same bug I have, be prepared for the symptoms to change.  Mine went from fever/pain->cough/sore throat->sneezing/coughing fit->stuffy nose

  • @gatorMom2014 It was great for a few days but then I started getting lonely and cabin fever kicked in. It's just so hot and I'm so uncomfortable so while I wanna go out, I don't at the same time.

  • @LauraPCOS @UFJen I had something similar three times this pregnancy (ugh), last time just a few weeks ago. One thing that helped me a ton was doing a saline flush of my nose. Netti pots never worked well for me but I started using NeilMed Sinus Rinse. It basically is a bottle vs pot that helps shoot the solution up your nose much much easier. It provided much needed relief and you can do it up to 6 times a day.

  • @socks2819 I was using hydrasense the nasal spray thing with eucalyptus but I found (and maybe unrelated) but it left me feeling like I had to sneeze but the sneeze never truly came.  I'm hoping that the cold is on its way out but I've always had a crappy immune system and things would turn into infections which I'm hoping isn't the case here :/ OH one thing that has seriously helped though it hot showers, especially before bed.  I would take 2 Tyenol then jump into the shower and let the hot water hit my chest then back and repeat, then dry off and go right to bed.

  • @LauraPCOS I have had those exact sneezy feelings! It sucks being sick. Best wishes for a quick recovery.Hot tea and hot showers were my best friend too!

  • YES to hot tea and hot showers! I hope you ladies start feeling better! I'm scared for the first time I get sick with a child.
@MRSCORKER I 100% feel you on the being bored and alone thing. I am often at home all day and it's this awful feeling of wanting to do so much and nothing at all. And counting the hours until your husband gets home.
