I'm so ready for bed but I got a major cleaning bug when I got home from work and my sheets are in the dryer. I may have to repost this in the "why my pregnant self is crying" thread if they don't finish soon.
@ibabyloveb87 Yep, sometimes I will open the door to the nursery and just stare in for awhile lol. I'm so thrilled with how it turned out, especially considering that we didn't break the bank on it. I'm so excited for Monday when the crib mattress is supposed to arrive. Even though we won't need it for months, I think it'll just make everything look more complete and I can't wait to put the adorable sheet on it! We also still need a diaper change pad, and that's the last thing needed to really complete the nursery. It looks so real now, I can hardly believe it!!
@Blonde1817 I am just waiting on my chair (Monday) and the changing table (sometime next week) to be delivered! Soooo exciting! He won't be in there for a couple of months, but we may just go hang out for fun

I used to spend a LOT of time hanging out with DS's nursery before he was born. Same as all of you - it was so peaceful in there and I was so proud of how it turned out.
Fast forward to baby #2, and so far we've only painted his room, and bought decor that is still sitting in the closet. DS's new big boy furniture will arrive on Wednesday, then we can move the nursery furniture to nursery and start in there. But, I'm sure I'll be too tired because DS is going to be adjusting to a big boy bed (read: he'll be up 10 times a night crying for Mommy).
@f47 LO might surprise you with the transition! Our little guy did a lot better when we put him in a big boy bed and he was very excited about it! I mean, he gets out and comes into our bed in the middle of the night, but he did that in the toddler bed!
I I feel like the big bed is more comfortable for them!
@kmolleltz Did you feel the earthquake where you are? Everyone ok?
I had to google it to know what you were talking about... plenty far away here. Seeing that at least 3 died in northwest Tanzania. Supposedly it was a 5.7 which is quite large for here.

I'm glad you guys didn't feel it. I saw 5.7 and knowing nothing is built to withstand that, my heart dropped.

@mrscorker I cant even imagine the destruction that could happen here where I live in we had an earthquake epicentered here....
We are at the base of a dormant volcano (more than 100 yrs) but there are experts who believe it is due to erupt again... and there are currently no tremor or erupt sensors set up. Last year there was a huge forest fire on the side of the mountain near the top that people freaked out it was erupting. It was crazy.
@mrscorker yeah Meru. Last I heard at least they didnt. There has been lots of talk over the last few years but I don't think anyone has actually done anything about it.

My son is the same! He is 2 and he loves his big boy bed. Same deal, if he wakes up he just comes out and comes straight to our room but that is rare!
I think some of y'all were talking about the group b strep test awhile ago, but it was a day were I was lurking cause things were crazy. And I didn't know what group b strep was, so it all went over my head. But can someone explain to me what it means if I tested positive?
I was in L&D Thursday and they decided to test me since I was there. I knew nothing about it because my OB said we'd do it at my next appt and I planned to ask her about it then, but I let them do the test so my OB would have the results before. Well the results came in my patient portal this morning and it was positive.
It's the weekend, so my OBs office is closed, and my next appt isn't until Thursday. But I refuse to google anything, so can someone clue me in on what this all means so I don't panic over the next day and a half?? Lol
@krzyriver I have no experience but from what I've seen around TB it's not a big deal and just means they'll administer antibiotics during delivery. I'm sure there's more to it but I don't think it's cause for alarm.

@krzyriver definetly don't panic. It's no big deal. It's a bacteria that we sometime develop. If you are positive there is a 20% chance that it could pass to baby. That can be prevented by using IV antibiotics during labor. Definetly do your reaearch and talk to your doctor about what's best for you and your baby but don't let it worry you.
@krzyriver Echoing what PPs have said. Just means you'll get some penicillin when you go to L&D. I haven't gotten my results back yet! Should get them Tuesday at my appointment.

@krzyriver Not a big deal at all! Group B is just part of your natural flora but it was found to be not good for the baby so they just wipe it out with antibiotics before delivery. Then they'll grow back.
@annabenanna I plan on working until I can work no more! I'm not dilated and my Dr (who works in the same hospital) has not said anything yet. My coworkers are very very helpful and don't let me lift patients so it's still safe at least.
@kmolleltz Glad you're area is safe, but that is concerning about the no sensors. I wonder how scientists determine that a volcano is due to erupt.
@MRSCORKER@NicholeL16@ibabyloveb87@OrangeEv Thank you ladies, you are the best! I felt like such a SS asking that cause I KNOW we've talked about it, but it's so hard for me to Bump on mobile that I couldn't even search for it.
I'm really starting to hate these online patient portals. They send me stuff that means nothing to me and then I panic cause I'm a natural worrier.
@krzyriver - Just want to make sure you know one important thing about testing positive for GBS: if your water breaks at home (or wherever/not the L&D room) then you need to go to L&D asap. No laboring at home or anything. This is so they can get you the antibiotics before baby comes - and I believe the goal is to give you 2 bags of antibiotics before delivery. Testing GBS positive also (generally) means no at-home birth.
@orangeev Thanks. I'm not really sure either except that I heard it's because previously this volcano had erupted every 100 years and now it's been like 107? Not totally sure though.
I suppose I'm a lurker now bc I dropped off the bump but just came by to check in on you @kmolleltz and so glad to hear you're safe! Sending positive thoughts to the recovery teams.
@OrangeEv it depends what type of volcano it is, proximity to people etc but some ways of monitoring for activity include seismically (e.g. looking at tremors which may indicate magma movement), satellite monitoring for surface shape changes or chemical analysis of vents/fumaroles.
@NoraAurora Oh man, no laboring at home at all? That sucks a little. But thank you! My doc is out of town so I'm seeing someone else at this week's appt. Idk if they would have thought to tell me that or if they would've assumed my doc already told me.

@ammetko04 & @serenaxo84 I hope you're right. He's moving from his crib to a twin loft bed. But, he's made comments about wanting to stay in his crib when I've asked him about a big boy bed.
I'm hoping his new Lightning McQueen bedding will mean he's excited. He LOVES Cars.
I I don't want him in our bed, so that will be a challenge if/when he comes in our room. But, I know however he reacts it's only temporary. It's just that I need my sleep while I can get it! Haha
Has/Is anyone getting an otteroo or a floatie like it for there baby? I kind of want to buy one just because the video always make it seem like the babies are having a blast.

The fact that she (@allythekid) hasn't even popped on at all (last online 9/7 at 2:48pm), I'm REALLY hoping that it's just her phone died and she hasn't been able to get a new one yet and her husband refused to let her download the app or go to the website using his phone. Was someone her labor partner and did they exchange phone numbers or anything?
Completely random question totally unrelated to anything on the board, but has anyone ever ordered from Boden? I somehow got on their catalogue mailing list and they seem to have some cute clothes (for me and for baby/toddler), but I'm hesitant to order because I have no idea of the quality.

I am definitely an anxiety ridden person and to me the notion of 'no news is good news' is crazy. I've been thinking about her all day and really hoping something hasn't happened and (like you said) her phone is dead or she's so deep in cuddles and loving that she hasn't logged back in. But I thought she recently said that her other Lo had breathing issues after coming early...
@Piperella and @maf9866 I've been thinking about her on and off all day today too. I got to see a friend's 1-month-old for the first time today and I know she said she got swamped with the new baby and her toddler and she didn't communicate that much. I'm hoping that's the case with Ally too.
@ashleyp625: @Kaessi said in another thread today (or yesterday?) that they hadn't yet exchanged numbers, so she has no way of getting in contact. I've also been so concerned.

@ignoscemihi i love Boden! I love their baby stuff!!! I think quality is on par with Hanna Andersson... Wash well don't shrink. A lot of my Boden clothes from DS1 are in perfect condition for the new baby. I have coats, snow suits, swim suits, tops, bottoms, sweatshirts and sweaters.
They do sell Boden at Nordstrom- if you are close to one you can check out the clothes in store. Some of our favorite Boden purchases! My post got all messed up!
@krzyriver you've gotten a ton of good advice already. I tested positive for strep B as well. My doctor always jokes that I'm such a boring patient so I said "well here I am trying to spice things up for you!" And he said "this? Still boring...1 in 3 pregnant people test positive for strep B" They gave me a week long rx for antibiotics, and said I will have an IV bag of antibiotics during labor. I can still deliver vaginally but be prepared they won't release myself or baby for 48 hours of testing. They want to make sure I didn't pass it along to the baby, but it's a very rare chance that happens since I'll be on antibiotics.
