I just called my OB to make my 6 week PP appointment and it's scheduled for the 29th. I also spoke to the on-call doctor to ask about getting back to yoga and pilates and she said no! I can't believe it, those are relatively low-impact activities, and I could always sit out certain parts if necessary. I am so disappointed, I really miss going and there is even a yoga class where I can bring my baby. They are worried about me popping a stitch (I had a 2nd degree tear, two stitches, no pain there any more at this point). Looks like walking is just about all I can do for now, better get some good podcasts/audiobooks to keep it interesting.
I went back to CrossFit yesterday at almost 3 weeks PP. besides being sore as hell today it felt really good to move around. I went really light on the weights compared to what I was doing during my pregnancy. I also moved slower than I normally would. I love feeling normal again!
Started tracking calories yesterday, I miss snacking already!! Hoping that my supply doesn't drop, I know you have to find the balance when breastfeeding. i didn't realize just how much I was eating though, probably good to start tracking now otherwise I'd be getting into some bad habits! It will be nice when I can start exercising some again. I'm 4 weeks pp today, so soon!
@KMeredith82 that's exactly what I need to do. I've been eating healthier (pregnancy made me do bad things)but I still think I'm snacking way too much! My weight loss has kind of stopped this week and I still have 20lbs to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. Breastfeeding makes me so hungry and it's hard to balance.
@kmeredith82 I need to do the same. @shawnalynn83 I'm in the same situation. Breastfeeding makes me ravenous and I always reach for carbs. My weight loss has stopped and I may have added back a pound or two. I'm hoping to fill the house with healthier snack options this weekend.
Did my first work out last night (other than walking) after my pp appt. All went well other than the butterfly stretch. As a former gymnast I was used to being flexible but yikes... my nether regions were sore doing that one! Lol I'm sore today but feeling good!
@shawnalynn83 and @lwc1112 completely agree that breastfeeding makes me so hungry! I've been trying to find more filing and healthy snacks. Today I ate a smaller lunch so that I could have an extra snack and that seemed to work a little better, that way I could eat something every few hours. I'm tracking with my fitness pal and adding in 500 extra calories for breastfeeding, so I'm also trying to convince myself that 500 calories is a good amount of "extra" so I should be happy with that!
My DH has already been tracking with MPF so that certainly helps. One of my best friends has also recently lost a good amount of weight so I'm trying to use her for inspiration. I'm overweight to begin with so I want to make sure my weight is moving in the right direction.
I had zero appetite while pregnant, so now with my appetite back plus some from bf I've been enjoying my snacks a little too much. I was so tired of not feeling like eating and not enjoying it that I'm giving myself until my pp appt before I start tracking my eatting or cutting down on anything. Only 3 more weeks left
We are going to our first baby and me yoga class in about t-5 mins. I wanted to time this class with Avery's sleep schedule but this one is on my boob right now sucking away.
I am sooo nervous, unlike my usual self...to be in a room full of other fellow moms and their babies.
Avery is a grunter so I fear that she will disrupt the class or something!! Ahhh wish me luck!
@AliKay20 it's awesome that you went! I really want to do something like that, but I've been procrastinating...
I have been putting this off since 3 wks ago when I've hit my 6 wk PP. The hardest step is actually getting my ass to the yoga studio. Much like the gym. Ha! Moms were so nice & laid back. I had to nurse A to stop her from crying! Instructor taught us how to massage our babies. During class, I thought how fun it would be if all our August mamas took a class like this together!
Anyone else struggling to get a workout in because you are exhausted?
After a good sleep night I feel like I can conquer the world. After a bad sleep night I struggle to get anything done, and I've been having a lot of bad sleep nights lately.
Re: PP Fitness
but I can't get past browsing for a cute one piece.

I am sore. So sore. This was nothing compared to high intensity cardio I signed up for on Saturday...I am screwed!!
