Re: September FET Buddies!

  • @C-k - that's awesome that you're at a 9 without drugs!!!! If only the rest of us could achieve that, lol. Good to hear about the progesterone though

@Elyse1384 - whooooooo boy that would put me right through the friggin roof!!!! How effin hard is it to put through some routine paperwork?! I really hope that gets expedited and you can still transfer this month
  • Good morning.  I am excited to report my wacky dreams of the night.  Aside from the one where I was flying an elephant (like the one in the ride) over a pond of alligators, I also dreamt I was throwing grapes into a bunch of water fountains.  Lol not quite the baby taped on the belly, but undoubtedly as meaningful!

Here's to one more day of waiting! Hope everyone has an amazing Friday and linings keep growing and embies keep sticking!

  • Wow I was not at a computer or phone most of yesterday and there has been a lot to catch up on this morning.
I totally agree with everyone about FET's being way different. I only get 1 apt for b/w and us. I asked about this before I was kinda pissy with the doc about it. He said on a FET he only needs to check the lining not all the follicles and stuff. Even after a BFN I don't go back in until my mid check they just tell me when to start meds and when I need to come in.
We have 1 doctor (Dr. J) his home base is in Indianapolis (2hrs away) he comes to my clinic once a week I only see him if I absolutely beg to see him or if its retrieval or transfer time. We have 2 Nurse practitioners that do all the talking but they always check with Dr J first on decisions. Then there are 2 ultrasound techs sometimes they call me about blood test results and to answer my dumb nervousness questions.
As far as restrictions I've been told bed rest for 24hrs light duty the 24 hrs after that then back to normal with no baths, swimming or sex and no lifting over 25 lbs until Beta @FatPony I have twin 3yr olds at home that weigh about 32lbs each. I was told since it's a normal thing for me to pick them up that it's ok just try not to do it a lot and not both at the same time.

  • I am happy to report I survived night 1 of PIO!

Regarding my suppositories... I have to say, if you ever have a choice of which type you receive... Get the ones without the applicator!! They are so much easier because they are capsules and easily slide up.  The discharge isn't nearly as bad either. The other pills were chalky and rough, and the discharge was terrible!

  • ahhh the accounting department of my Doc just called. My insurance covers as many FET's as I need but do not cover the freezing or thawing of embryo's. Our plan this round was to thaw 2 watch them and then if one is really good then transfer it and refreeze the other if both are eh then transfer both. I knew that it was $800 to freeze the 11 embroyos when I had my ER so a few weeks ago I called to see what the price would be for only 1. I finally just got a call back it's another $800. She said it's $800 per batch and then after a year the storage fee is $400 so I already have 2 batched frozen. So now the question is do we thaw 2 and possibly dispose of 1 or pay another $800 to freeze it???? I'm waiting for a call from the doc now.

  • I had my lining check today and I'm at 8.7.  The nurse also called and said my estrogen is good (482) and progesterone is low.  She said everything is perfect and I've been given the go ahead to start PIO tomorrow, along with medrol and low dose aspirin.

Is 8.7 good for lining?  Google seems to want to freak me out, as I keep finding studies that recommend you be over 9 for an FET.  The nurse assured me that women get pregnant with a lining of 5, but that doesn't mean my chances are high.  I know I need to chill, but I've been having an anxious/hopeless day

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I think anything over 8 is fantastic! At least that's what my doctor says. I'm holding onto hope that your nurse is right that women with a lining of 5 get pregnant b/c that's basically me! Yay for starting the PIO tomorrow, it's not "THAT BAD" but still isn't fun - you'll do great!

@thucks I think it's so stupid that insurance covers FET but not the unthawing/freezing that goes with it! Mine doesn't cover that either, but will cover the assisted hatching, which my RE does with all FETs - so strange. That's a tough question about the thawing/freezing, hopefully your doctor will have some guidance and good advice!

OMG, my transfer is MONDAY! @wifeinraleigh28 I feel like this month is flying! There are a lot of us transferring next week already! (P.S., my parents and brothers wedding anniversaries are both on 09/16, hoping that is a good day for you too!)

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I second what PP said.  My clinic is very happy with anything over 8!

  • @Worldtravler0522 I was thinking the same thing. Don't google.... I was just getting on my mom about that yesterday when we were at the heart doctor. She made the comment that she will be on webMD all weekend researching her pace maker surgery on monday. DON"T do that it just makes things worse.
BTW I almost had a mini heart attack myself when they said they would schedule her surgery for next week I panicked because she doesn't know we were back at this again I was so scared they would schedule it on friday transfer day.

ditto! I had a failed one in February and this time knowing the embryos were healthy and that's all we had will crush me. Ugh lets try to think positive. Do you feel any different? I felt bloated first two days, then pulled out my back and was in pain all night and the bloatedness went away which makes me worry.

  • Yes, about 24 hrs after transfer I was bending down and suddenly felt nauseous. It happened the last transfer, with my cp too. I got nausea and exhausted the day after the transfer. I've been pregnant before and can never forget what morning sickness felt like. So I was like 'uh huhhhhh'. I got symptoms almost immediately; it was weird but maybe bc we transferred 2 embryos? This time I just had that one nauseous moment, and now I feel fine. I felt fine during the 2ww with my first pregnancy, but maybe I had some brief nausea and didn't recognize what it meant? Idk, just trying to avoid symptom spotting. I feel bloated too! But I think it's bc I haven't been running.

Try not to worry. The bloated feeling could mean literally anything. You did not lose a pregnancy bc of your back. There's nothing else you can do, it's all up to the embryo now.
  • @FatPony thanks I needed that! Have a great weekend.

  • I also love this group :kissing_heart: Thank you everyone for easing my mind about my uterine lining!  Haha.

Well, I not only survived my first PIO shot, I didn't even feel it.  Not sure if the Synera patch just did a really good job of numbing me or what, but at one point I said "Is it in, because I don't feel anything!"  Hubs made it clear he doesn't like me uttering that sentence   But all I felt was a little bit of pressure when he was pushing the medicine through and that was it!

  • Thanks! No news yet. Tech said they normally do the calls around 1, but it could be sooner or later...uggh.  I have two cups of pee on the sink.  Still can't decide to test or not.  Thinking I will just wait for the call.  The tech taking my blood said either way, I won't believe it so I may just wait - the truth is in the serum. Lol.  That is actually what she said.

i am exhausted snuggled in bed, because I haven't been able to sleep! I can hear the dog on the dining room table downstairs and I don't even care! Lord know what she is eating!

  • I just keep crying.  Totally sucks.  They were trying to have me make a blood test appointment and I was sobbing, finally I just said do I really have to do this right now.  Can I just get off the phone?

I tried to to call back, but I get the answer service.  I decided I am just going to show at 7am on Monday.  Get the blood test over with.  I don't want to wait till Tuesday or Wednesday to stop taking these meds...it is such an awful thought to take it for nothing.

i guess on a little nicer note, I took the dog out and just sat on the grass.  A couple minutes later it starting raining. Just light drops.  It was sunny out. Both my parents passed away when I was young and in some way I felt that they were crying with me. Honestly, I give you ladies credit who have been through this multiple times. It really feels like someone gutted out my heart.
