• Because I slept like crap'ola once again and today is my only day off... I picked up OT for tomorrow, not sure what I was thinking, and I'm working the holiday. Good money to be made so I just keep telling myself that. But I'm hoping after grocery shopping and running arrands, I can come home and do nothing the rest of the day.

• @sportiegrl1213 maybe a nap during resting time? Sometimes I find I sleep better during a nap than at night

• Because we've had birth announcements coming in!!! I can't believe we will be posting our own soon!

• @annabenanna @AllyTheKid Can I ask the doc next time if it's okay to turn around and not look at the scale while I'm being weighed? Just reached the 'beyond caring' stage and would prefer to be happily in the dark about my weight rather than feeling sad/guilty...
• @jennielu I've been doing that since day one. I turn around and tell the nurse not to tell me what it says and asked the doctor to just let me know if it's becoming a problem. I have no idea what I weigh or what I've gained and I give zero f***s at this point.

• Aaaand, our home ac is out. Yay weekends!
• @SpaceBurger wow.... Seriously impressed! How did you manage that?! I almost can't even reach anymore...
• Hahahah well @Kittens22 let's just say I still look more like Nev Schulman than the bikini model I was going for
• @SpaceBurger LOL. well still amazing either way!

My doctor told me that they're doing the vaginal swab thing at my next visit, my first time baring all this pregnancy... I will probably have a crying post for this thread surely thereafter...
• Yesterday I cried because I was soo tired, because my other half didn't automatically tell me I looked nice when I was wearing a new top that I showed off to him.. Because I'm first one of my friends to have a baby and I was convinced it would change dynamics of the group lol... And then finally because I forgot to buy milk and we needed it..
All ridiculous reasons lol and today I feel non emotional at all :) hormones eh!
• Just laying around with FI yesterday, I cried because I am scared that our relationship will never be the same once the baby is born.
• @mizzkbrat I just read something about the strain having a baby/child will be on a marriage. Scares me as well. I don't want to resent my DH, that's my only fear. Obviously our relationship will be different but I hope it will still be a good relationship.

• @mizzkbrat aww that made me :( hubby jokes about our relationship and I tell him it's so messed up that of course we'll make it because it's not practical or perfect by any means.

• @AllyTheKid this made me so sad too! I wonder if they can do something so that doesn't kill the bees, especially because honey bees are endangered (unless they lifted that.)

I mentioned to a co-worker today that I was thinking about asking off for a half day on Friday and all day on Monday because I have family coming into town for my baby shower. She says that she doesn't think our boss would tell me no, but basically tells me that I really shouldn't ask because I'm about to be off for 8 weeks and our boss is concerned about how that will impact our year-end numbers. It really hurt my feelings because I've only taken off 4 days this entire year and she takes off all the time. Now I feel guilty for bringing it up and angry at the same time. My maternity leave is not a vacation, and this day and a half was going to be the last time I have to myself for a very long time.

ETA: I do realize that my leave will have an impact on the larger team, and I'm incredibly grateful to have a maternity leave at all. But I felt like my co-worker's comments were indicative of a double standard.
• Because my cervix feels like it's being stabbed with a cattle prod, my legs are cramping, I'm too huge to find a comfortable position in bed, FI is asleep but I can't fall asleep, this is the 3rd time I've gotten up to pee in the last hour, and to top it all off my right nipple started leaking out of nowhere...

On a more positive note, @amye102485 nailed it. Seeing your man be a father can be such a huge turn on, especially when he does subtle fatherly things that he doesn't even realize he's doing.
• @amye102485 you nailed it. DH is such an amazing father I never knew how much more attractive it would make him!

@SpaceBurger, you win LOL

My reason for crying: DS started kindergarten last week and when we went to the midwife appt yesterday she said "where is your sidekick?!" Aaaannnd triggered all the tears. I feel like my right arm is missing without him home with me.

• Thanks ladies, I know it will be ok and we will work through it. He's my rock.
• @LizaKate1213 Poor momma! I was the same way when my daughter started a couple of weeks ago. You get used to it really quickly! We are on week three and although I still miss her, seeing how much she loves school makes me feel ok about it.

• I just had a mini breakdown because I'm so tired yet everything aches and I can't get comfortable enough to sleep. It doesn't help that I'm sick but I just want the aching to stop.

• @LauraPCOS really hope you feel better soon!! I'm with you on the aches and pains. At least you're 2 weeks ahead of me. These aches and pains just started last night for me after doing too much. Now I can't get these cramps to go away and I just want to crawl under my desk and nap!!! I spoke too soon when I said I was doing well LOL

• Thanks, @amye102485! He used to go to daycare full time, but I went to work part time about 3 years ago so he only went to daycare or preschool on days I was working so when I was home, he was too. This morning was rough, he was begging to stay home with me. He loves school but is accustomed to being able to sleep in so mornings have been a bit difficult!

• My pregnant self has been crying for most of the last 20 hours since I learned my virtually symptomless, low-risk pregnancy has been reclassified as very high risk. Due to an old sports injury and the fact that I let my then-coach bully me into injuring myself further.
They HAVE to do a c-section, and most likely under full anesthesia, which is not only dangerous to the baby, but means I will miss the first (and most important) hours of his life.
This was completely unexpected and I'm blaming myself right now, which of course is only making it worse.

• @books&icecream oh my gosh!!!! I'm so sorry, that's awful to find out...so late in the game too. Wow. Maybe, just maybe things will turn out and they won't have to put you under??
• @books&icecream that's so awful! I'm so sorry.

• @books&icecream I'm so sorry, but don't blame yourself. Is there a chance that they won't have to put you under full anesthesia?
• @books&icecream I'm so sorry, it's definitely not your fault. I'm hoping things work out and they won't have to put you fully under.

I cried with my favorite midwife from the group yesterday when I told her MFM didn't put me on insulin which means I can continue care with them.
• @books&icecream I'm so sorry that you got that news. I'm sure everything will be fine!

• @books&icecream I'm so sorry! Hopefully the docs know best and are just trying to keep you and LO safe. Something similar happened to a co-worker of mine who found out when she was prego with her first that a random childhood illness made it more likely for her to have complications during labor. She delivered her two awesome sons with c sections.
• @books&icecream I'm so sorry to hear about this. I'd be so angry with that coach. Sending you lots of hugs <3
• @books&icecream, I am so sorry to hear this! Wishing you all the best and crossing all of my fingers and toes that things go better than expected for you. <3

• @books&icecream sorry to hear that, but don't blame yourself! It sucks being this late in the game, but now you know and can prepare, and I know everything will go well!

Thanks, everyone!! I'm still kind of in shock but I agree that I am so glad I at least have 4 weeks to prepare myself, as well as my DH, who is now going to be responsible for all skin-to-skin/bonding/initial care.
I *could* be awake IF I manage to keep my phobia of needles and needle-like objects in check. There will be at least four in a short period of time: IV, catheter, local anesthetic on back, and epidural. According to previous experience, 3/4 would induce panic and they made it VERY clear that they will intubate at the first sign of a panic attack. I'm meeting with a voice therapist to practice relaxation breathing to get me through that but I have to be prepared for the very real possibility that they will knock me out.
