@AliKay20 your experience confirmed that I def need a new pediatrician. He didn't ask any of that stuff and didn't even give me info on the vaccine that DS got. Thanks for sharing! Now to find someone new... unfortunately I have to drive 20+ min for the next nearest ped as my immediate area primarily uses family practice.
Sorry to hear that! Does he at least give you a hand out on the vaccinations?!
My ped always reviews baby's growth trend and percentile. Asks how baby is doing and we discuss a lot of these from our questions. Then she examines baby's breathing, eyes, etc. and does her analysis followed by any vaccines (given by RN/MA) baby is getting at that appt.
My experience, of course, will vary from other ped experiences but if you don't think your ped is communicating enough, I'd def seek other peds available to you. Best of luck, mama!
@AliKay20 nope!! No handouts, nothing. I had to ask what side effects to even look for. And I wasn't asked any of those questions at all. He spent maybe 5 minutes with me. I was induced early so meeting with peds was one of the things that never happened before baby so I just went with the one nearby that saw us in the hospital but I'll be making phone calls tomorrow!

He sounds no bueno! What impressed me with our ped was that she always asks how I am doing before asking about baby. The office makes me fill out a questionnaire on how I feel lately. I didn't expect it from the peds office as my OB office did it for my postpartum check up. Maybe this is pretty standard or maybe it's just getting to be but I thought I'd share what made me feel good about choosing our ped. She was very personable which I liked and found important when choosing a pediatrician. Good luck!!!!
@AliKay20 thanks for the input!! I appreciate it! Hopefully I'll have some luck! Mama's health is important for baby's health so that's awesome they do that!
