Re: Mommy Fails & Wins
Mom fail: I walked around with spit up all over my arm yesterday and had no idea (it was a significant amount).
It's unreal how much you don't bother to look in the mirror or manage your own appearance when your a new mom. About the most I can manage is clean underwear and brush my teeth these days.
DD: Aug '16
10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks.
10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery

Not to jinx it, and I know not every day will be this way, but I'm so thankful that my first day has gone so smoothly. Makes me feel so much more confident.
Mom Win: Took DD to her 2 month check up today...
#priorities
Fail: last week I had something scheduled almost everyday, and it forced me to get out and about. I felt guilty for taking LO so many places so I haven't been doing much this week... The result has been me watching way too much Netflix and sitting on the couch and now I just feel lazy. I think I need to find a reason to get out of the house tomorrow.
We decided that she needed to start putting herself to slee again so one night at bedtime we laid her down and every time she would get up and come crying at her door banging on it. It probably took 45 minutes of her crying and us laying her back down but she finally went to sleep. It only took that one night though, sometimes she still fusses a little but not long. I was honestly expecting it to get worse once baby got here but it's actually made things better.
I am a firm believer in cry it out. Especially now that she's older and knows that she can cry to get what she wants. Not everyone agrees with it but it's worked for us!
win: I am purging my house. That means clothes, toys, etc. everything we don't use. I will feel glorious by the end of the day.
Fail: We stayed out later than DDs usual nap time and now she's decided not to take a nap at all. She's played in her crib for an hour now. She'll be a mess by the time DH gets home.
So I did what any extremely sleep deprived parent would do: I took a picture then licked ot off. Wins are what you make them.
Edited for a lot of spelling....a lot.
Mom win: After we lost our first baby at 9 weeks last September, we didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl so since we were doing a fox themed nursery, we decided to name that LO "Fox". When we were waiting to find out we were pregnant again, we started suddenly seeing foxes everywhere and then found out we were expecting this LO. We also saw a fox picture in the hospital while we were waiting to find out if we could take our second LO, Oliver, home from the nicu. We went ahead with the fox nursery for Oliver, and I purposely put the fox decal right above his crib along with secretly putting the name Fox behind the crib post as a way to symbolize that decal as our angel watching over Oliver.
Well every time I put Oliver in his crib for a little while during the day, he just stares at the fox and has now started to smile and talk to it. I have put him down crying and found him smiling seconds later while gazing at the fox on the wall, and it just makes my heart explode with happiness.
