  • oh and baby Agee. really a lot of them.
  • That's awesome, @mizzkbrat! And with October, you won't be miserable in the summer like we are now ;)

@ashleyp625 hahaha and you can talk about it here because you know they'll never look! Heck, you could even talk about it in the PLEASE READ FIRST thread, and they still wouldn't see it
    I know, right?!
because that's totally who I will want to share the deepest, darkest details of labor with in those uncomfortable moments- someone who has literally never said two words to me, or literally anyone else here! Weird.
  • Since we have several mamas delivering in the next few weeks (!), I was wondering- how do labor updates work? Do we put them in randoms? Make one really huge thread? Start a new thread for each person (that would get crazy, fast)? Just wondering...

We started a thread for each one in my last BMB.

  • People talking about new BMBs with subsequent pregnancies: this is my second BMB (August 13 being DS's). Honestly, 4-6 months after babes were born the board really thinned out and a lot of people left. By that point, many of us had made strong friendships outside of the board and the board itself lost it's appeal. I logged back in to TB after finding out I was pregnant with this one because everyone from my previous board is now in different stages in their life and I wanted to connect with people who are in the same stage as me right now. That is what my need is and this board right now fulfills it.

  • Ahhh i missed a lot overnight.

This is our first, DH jokes about wanting 6 or 7 kids (large families are the norm here) but I think we have settled on our little guy we are working to adopt, plus three (this one and later 2). We don't want them super spaced out but I think we've decided to wait to try again til this one is 18 months. Though our goal is to make a trip to the States sometime in the next 2 years as well so I don't really want to be uncomfortably pregnant for that. We'll have to see how things work out.

@bnsmith85 that made me laugh out loud. A tarp? hahaha Cuddling, you remember that? ha@bnsmith06

@Schell2013  my best friend here has two girls who are just like 15 months apart and it worked out for them that they are the best of friends.(they're currently 6 and 8) She feels super lucky because they don't have many friends here in TZ (and/or people are always leaving) so the fact that the girls get along so well is really a lifesaver. haha.

  • @mizzkbrat You are a goddess for that!
  • I get a good maternity leave from work but in order to qualify for it again I need to work exactly two years from my return to work date (likely early March 2017) before I can go out again. So if I had my way, I'd like to have another baby April 2019. Since I dealt with infertility I'm hesitant to wait too long to try again but I'm also glad for a break from pregnancy for 2.5 years haha. We'll see what the future holds!

Also @mizzkbrat you are amazing for volunteering to do that for your friend! Surrogacy is an amazing gift to someone else and idk that I'd be selfless enough to do it.
  • This is our first (we're both 29), I really want three kids but DH only wants two.  It's not so much that he doesn't want three, he's just an accountant who is very financially conservative and worries about how we'd pay for three.  But I'm not giving up on my dream yet!  Who knows how we'll both feel after one and then two.  I'd love to have kids who are about two years apart in age, I think that's about right.  Both DH and I were about three years apart from our siblings and felt like we had nothing in common.  We haven't really talked about birth control after baby yet, I'd love to just stick with NFP (and condoms when necessary).  I have no desire to be one hormonal BCP again.

  • @AllyTheKid I've never really been that into pizza rolls, but a couple years ago they had them one night for the youth group I helped with, and I was all "Where have you been all my life?!?!"

I got H to try them a few months ago. He was not "too keen" (as he likes to say) about them, so every time we go to the store and I ask if we can get some he says he wouldn't want them if I made them for dinner. So then what's the point. Ugh. Men.

But that picture reeeeeeeally has me craving some now!

  • @bamacoop I am not a pizza fan, but there is just SOMETHING about pizza rolls that is a complete game changer for me!
And Pfft, get them for yourself, those are anytime foodz!

  • @bamacoop I will never forget that jingle! Or the Rice-a-Roni jingle... "Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat, Oh oh oh oh"
  • A flavor that is sure to pleaseeee
  • This is *probably* going to be our only child. I would ideally like one more, but not sure if it's in the cards. I am 35, almost 36, and we will barely be able to afford daycare now, which means we would need to wait until this LO is school age before trying again. We had trouble TTC and I just don't think trying again at 40 is the smartest idea. However, I'm really saddened to think that our little girl won't have a sibling. I have one older sister, and I don't know what I would do without her, especially since we lost our mom when we were both pretty young. My sister doesn't have kids and my H is an only child, so our daughter won't even have cousins to grow up with. I'm so worried about her being lonely :/
  • Boo, I'm so late and missed so much yesterday.

This is our first and we want 3-4. Since we had to have help getting pregnant, we're just not going to prevent. We would be thrilled to get KOd naturally. Although after the "cervix check" I had last night and no sex for the past several weeks, I'm not thinking sex is in our future...

@bnsmith85 - we have a three bedroom and have been here about 5 years, but are already planning to move in the Spring if we can swing it. We need a bigger place, but really, we're moving because we have to have a pool. My parents and MIL have pools, but both are about 25 minutes from us. So really, that doesn't help when I want to just lounge. And our dogs love swimming.

  • I woke up to so many posts!  I've never had a pizza roll in my life.  Now I must go get one.

Ramen:  what kind are we talking about?  The packaged kind or the restaurant kind?

Also, need to make my way to F17 to see the drama
  • I wish that I had taken the day off work today. For the first time in weeks, I actually have some energy and all I really want to do today is NEST.
  • @annabenanna You've never had a Pizza Roll?!

DH really wants to buy this house just up the road from us (in our same neighborhood) that's up as a foreclosure. It's 5 BR and has a pool. He wants to buy that and rent out ours. If I weren't KU, I think we'd be making a purchase.

I did this today. Shh, don't tell. I'm getting so much done!
    jealous
  • I too now want pizza rolls, despite the inevitable 3rd degree mouth burns, mmm.

Just want to thank Hurricane Hermine for the 4 day weekend cause I was so over working this week! Luckily the storm wasn't bad either, so it's all good.
  • @annabenanna You've never had a Pizza Roll?!
NYOPE.  NYEVER.  What brand should I hunt down?
  • @annabenanna Just beware the super hot cheese coming out of the other end when you bite into one. My friend gave himself like a 2nd degree burn on his leg from dropping the cheese out of a pizza roll! He may or may not have been intoxicated buttttttt figured I'd warn you! And any of the other Pizza Roll newbies.
