  • September...whattttttt!?!?
  • Today is LO's DD!! But according to my appointment yesterday, we will probably still be prego until we induce next Wednesday!! Really wish she would come on her own though. FTM, and finally freaking out a little.
Havnt 'Officially' started maternity leave until LO is here, but only worked 1 day this week and don't have a chance again until she is here. So Yay! For a little bit of 'Me' time at home.
I'm a little worried how the dog will take to her.. We know she is Great with kids and family members babies. But a NEW LO that doesn't go away after and your or so... Hmm.
Seems like a long rant, Sorry all!
  • @SarahNH1 My dogs were fine at the beginning, but now that my almost two year old is obsessed with hugging and chasing, one of the dogs spends the entire day growling. I'm about to lose my mind! I hope yours is less annoying.

I've also on the crabby and not much to say.  I was very busy yesterday, pediatrician meet, ob, car loan fun, and it was H's birthday.

Joining the still breech team.  Had my 36w appointment yesterday and she said baby was still breech and was very unlikely to flip.  His birthday is now scheduled for Sept 21st (39+2).  I know people are trying to cheer me up but all they have done is irritate me. I've gotten 'don't worry he will flip' I cannot live in dream world he will flip, I'd love it but I'd be too crushed when the 21st rolls around and the c/s starts.  Then I've gotten from men 'oh, the c/s sound sooo much better'. Grr, still coming to terms with it.

I went to meet the ped and only talked with her for literally less than 30 seconds and the rest was with their insurance/office manager.  I didn't really like the vibe of the place and it was a bit dingy.  On to find another one.

H's birthday was so lack luster, I felt bad but not that bad as it was just about the same as mine. Sorry not sorry.
  • @jhems776 We use CMA, they have offices in FF (haven't been out there but maybe closer to you) and near us. I can FB you names of our favorite docs. Though there are likely great peds closer to you, too!
  • And happy dancing into September over here, too! Home stretch!
  • Ah! 6 days! How did this happen? Never thought I would get here. Looking through photos on my phone and came across the photo of the gift we gave to my parents to tell them and it seriously feel so Ike yesterday!

Spending my my last few days snuggled up with my DD. Feeling like she's totally going to hate us for adding another child to the family at this point.

    All the feels this month.

  • @jhems776. I'm with you in the breech club but I'm 38+4. I've tried some spinning babies moves plus handstands in the pool but I'm not convinced he has flipped. You still have time so definitely give them a try to get your munchkin to flip. Don't be discouraged mama!!!!
  • I got my son to flip from breech at 38w.  Anything is possible!  Just keep trying! :)

  • OMG OMG OMG IT'S SEPTEMBER. Maybe this will help lift me out of the funk that has kept me from posting more or less anything this week. I too had no change at my 38 week appointment which made me feel a little depressed (I think I also read this from @PSUBecky23 ), but hey, 12 days til due date. How bad could things be.

@Megan324 I think I am finally going to go get my feet did today. Forget the tip, I am going to need to buy that poor soul a drink. My feet are so dry they catch on my sheets... it's... just... no.

My random is dream related again - last night was the first night (I think) I actually had dreams where my baby was an infant. Typically I have just had dreams where I am very pregnant. He looked like I expect he will probably look and had the name we have chosen and everything, so I expect this was likely a prophecy of exactly who my child will be (in fact, some freaky-looking chick told me that in one of the dreams). So really, I have gotten to meet my child already and can rest easy. Excellent.

    Happy September, mamas <3

Yes, I have a 12 year old Maltese who isn't thrilled with our 2-year-old! Our lab loves him, though...probably because he leaves a trail of crumbs wherever he goes.

We had our parents bring a blanket from the hospital to the dogs the day before we came home. So when we brought him in, they recognized the smell and were instantly interested and not scared or aggressive at all. It was like they knew he was ours. They were both very loving and protective from the beginning.

Until he started trying to run them down with his car...then my Maltese wasn't so into him anymore!

  • @jhems776 don't be discouraged! Whatever will happen, will happen. We can't control everything but our reactions so it's good that you're working on making your peace with whichever outcome. If baby turns, great! If you end up with a cs, that's fine as well, all that matters is that baby will be here  <3

  • @marajay6 - any time I have event the slightest loose stool, I wonder if it could be the first sign of labor. I think it was the lovely @diagonalley who had a labor jump start with a big ol case of the runs? Ah, such a great story.

@Jhems776 - I'm sorry your baby is still breech! I think it would be tough to deal with and I'm sorry that it's still weighing on you.
  • It's getting harder to be in denial that I'm having a baby now that it's birth month - cue freaking out again!
Congrats to all the new babies born! I keep looking at them in disbelief that it'll be me too this month.

  • Pretty sure 39w plus a few days is a good time to start packing a hospital bag...right??

I've also officially moved into wearing my husbands sneakers after about 10am, because swelling.
  • Can't believe it is September already, which means I only have 2 days left in the office after today and will be working remote until baby girl arrives. Yay! I still have three weeks until my due date (9/23) but at least I can be uncomfortable at home and only around my dog instead of faking it at work. haha!
  • I'm finding it really hard to get excited for it being September when I still have 27 days to go and being FTM likely more...

  • Ok I'm putting this in Randoms just because I can't find the BTDT thread and I'm too lazy to keep looking.

I was recently offered a Roan Kortina Classic Pram for free, from a friend of the family. I already have the Britax B Agile which I love for our stroller, and we have limited space. As for a bassinet, I was planning on having baby probably sleep in the bassinet portion of the Pack n Play in our room before transitioning to crib. I just looked up the Roan though, and saw that it's pretty highly rated with a very high price point... which makes me feel like I should take it just because it's nice? I don't know though, I'm trying to avoid taking things that we don't need, especially things that will take up a lot of space. Does anyone have any experience with the Roan Kortina and is there any overwhelming reason why I should take it?
  • @SLou24 - It sounds really nice.. I'd probably take it but I like a lot of stuff, so I'm coming from the opposite angle as you. If it turns out that baby is really soothed by walks, it could be nice for the first couple months before MA freezes over to go out for a stroll and leave baby right in that bassinet to stay asleep for a nap inside.

I also had a few on my last board whose babies only could sleep in the stroller so the mom would push the stroller back and forth in the living room to get baby to nap.. might be a nice option to use for that?

  • @SLou24 I would take the stroller. I also have the B Agile and absolutely love it, but it does have some limits that caused me to buy a second stroller this time around. The B Agile is not so great in snow, on trails, or really any ungroomed terrain. Does the pram have bigger wheels that could fill in those potential gaps?
