My strongest craving lately is freshly made french fries....yummmmy! But I am doing my best to balance that with salads, yogurt, and fresh fruit/vegetables. Also, hot decaf black tea with honey has been hitting the spot too. That started when I got a bad head cold, and it is still on my must-drink list It really helps this on and off sore throat and my allergies too. Thinking about what I would like right now....NACHOS. I haven't had them in a while....and boy does that sounds good....I am still very into cheese....preferably monterey jack cheese blocks (the yellow and white one) that I can slice up and eat or melt on stuff like baked potatoes
I want extra butter popcorn so bad. But I seem to have misplaced my popcorn. I swear I put it in the pantry but I've searched had my DH search the house high and low but the popcorn is NOWHERE. NOWHERE. It's driving me crazy because I just know that I put it in the pantry but it isn't there......
Anything salty or sour. Pickles, some deli meat, low fat string cheese, salads, and I crave super sour lemon water. Anything remotely sweet repulses me.
My grandma brought by a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread on Friday, I ate a slice then and thought "Hmm, this is ok, but the pumpkin isn't really the star and it's too heavy on the spice". I had another slice this morning and about barfed. It tasted/smelled like poop. I don't know what the hell happened, but it's now in the trash.
@GlitterDragon No offense to any Brits here (you weirdos), but I've had several of them make me nachos with shredded, unmelted cheese on top. I was truly flummoxed the first time it happened.
I'm going to eat some cookies and cream ice cream right now and see if it brings a little joy into my day. What I really want is sushi. Gotta talk H into taking me out for sushi before I'm showing too much and get alllll the judgement for *gasp, evil!* being obviously pregnant and eating sushi in public.
I will also want a sake bomber but will reluctantly abstain.
@tentacular I would be ok with that only if there was melted cheese underneath the unmelted cheese. @homemake I completely forgot about dunkaroos and now I need to copy your idea.
Apparently my baby wants all the pork products. I turned up my nose last week at a perfectly grilled steak, and any chicken that crossed my path. But pork? Sausage, Chops, ham, or bacon... I'll take it!
I had a crazy vivid dream about grilled cheese and tomato soup last night. Like I could taste it and was really loving it. I was telling DH this morning about it and apparently I was making mmm mmmm noises in my sleep last night too. Grilled Cheese and tomato soup now added to the dinner menu this week.

@WinchesterGirl it's hot here too but I still really like soups and chili. DH usually isn't but he's been very sweet and going more with what I want to eat since I'm pregnant.

The cafeteria has loaded tots with queso as the afternoon snack offering. I couldn't help but indulge in them, although now I am paying for it with heartburn!
I'm almost 18 weeks and still don't have much of an appetite. But now I feel physically ill (dizzy, clammy) if I don't eat. My DH keeps making me eat steak which I know is good for the baby but I can barely choke it down. I can't wait for the cravings to begin. Sounds like more fun!
That would be low blood sugar @cmhughes04 before I got my appetite back I would drink a carnation instant breakfast high protein shake and it would help. Hope you get your appetite back soon!
I just finished making dinner and I have no desire to eat it. Maybe I should just start drinking Ensure to get my nutrients. But hey! At least I can look at raw meat without throwing up, now!!
I'm trying to figure out what I can eat with the least amounts of sugar possible... I have a bio-metric screening in the morning for work. I need to pass three out of five health metrics to save a bunch of money on my insurance for next year. Last year I missed blood sugar by 1 point.
Scrambled eggs with shredded cheese and salsa? I'm hopeful.
Side note: I also have to fast 8-12 hours before the screening; which is going to make the morning suck. Maybe I'll get a pass on the weight/waist size because I'm pregnant?
@MLRocha definitely tell them your pregnant. When we did our insurance screening, I got a pass from fasting because at that point I couldn't even get out of bed unless I had something to eat.
@scifichick09 I logged onto TB via PC for the first time in weeks and I'm just now seeing your siggy. LOL. He just keeps going and going. He never runs out of jizz!
@MLRocha I told them I was pregnant when I went for my biometric screening for insurance. She said they basically just give us the points if we're pregnant or breastfeeding even if we don't meet the metric. Not sure how your company works their program though.
Just sent an urgent text to DH! Maybe he'll pick me and the pups up after work and take us all out for corn dogs... I'm sure they are heated past steaming in the delicious, fried batter.
@Kaylea31 - The tech taking my blood wasn't sure but made a note on my chart. Since I got three out of five within goal range, I don't have to call about getting the weight/waist number waived (I never actually pass that one anyway). Weird thing was that my total triglycerides were WAY higher than the limit; I never miss that one.
Re: What my Pregnant Self is Eating 8/29
I'm still favoriting fruits (mostly apples, grapes and watermelon) & cheddar flavored popcorn for snacks.
