This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".

Good morning everyone! 19 weeks this week. I have my OB appointment today and anxious to hear the heartbeat via the Doppler. Getting both anxious and excited to reach the half-way 20 week mark next week.

QOTW - I have a very spoiled 5 year old Yorkie. He loves attention and absolutely hates when he doesn't get the attention he requires. He's amazing with kids and loves everyone who is willing to rub his belly. He's the sweetest dog ever but also very jealous. I think he will love the baby but will be jealous of him getting so much attention. We're planning on him being our only pet for the time being. Here he is sleeping on my bump and taking over my snoogle pillow when I leave for work.

Happy Monday, everyone! Today marks 26 weeks (98 days to go0o

) I have a regular OB appt tomorrow & I'm sure they'll bring up glucose testing at this point in time. The hardwood flooring for the nursery should be in next week. Once that is put down we can get the furniture in there. Eeeeeee so excited lol. I'm also contemplating wether or not to get an elective 3D/4D u/s. Anyone else in my boat? Hope you're all doing well.

QOTW: I have an adorable feline that loves to use my bump as a pillow all of the time

@capps42613 adorable! What would be your reason for not getting 3D/4D u/s? I haven't thought about this but curious to hear opinions. I thought at some point they automatically do 3D at least.

Hey ladies! I am so excited to be in 2nd tri officially! I am pregnant with one miracle baby after our 1st IVF cycle. (3 failed IUI's prior). My EDD is 2/25 and we just found out a few days ago that we are having a baby BOY! We have only told a few people, our parents and siblings and my grandparents, so I am excited to share the news with our friends.

QOTW: I have been thinking about this a lot. We have one sweet kitty and he is pretty spoiled

He is such a sweetheart I think he will be fine as long as we still give him attention. I think he will mostly avoid the baby, but we shall see!

I am feeling exceptionally horrible today

I think it is a stomach virus and not at all pregnancy related, but one of my worst days in quite some time. But I won't complain!!!! Because all of my genetic tests were negative and we find out if we have a he or a she in 6 days

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!! OB appointment on Thursday

QOTW: I have a 70 pound pitbull that thinks he is a tiny lap dog. He has recently started sniffing my belly which is hilarious. He demands a lot of attention but he is great with kids and is such a little lover. I think he'll be the protector eventually, but at first I think I'll have a baby in one arm and an Axel in the other

@capps42613 I think I'll probably skip the 3D/4D ultrasound. I have no reason other than I don't think it's necessary and I don't particularly want to pay out of pocket for anything else.

@Tulips29 - my dog does the same thing with my snoogle. He totally takes it over every morning when I get up.

I have an 8 year old Pomeranian, Shih Tsu Terrier mutt and he things he is a person. I have been more than a little worried about how well he will do b/c he gets super jealous when I don't give him as much attention as he thinks he deserves. My SIL came into town a few weeks ago with her 5 month old and he did better than I thought he would, even with me holding the baby. It definitely gave me hope that he will be ok. He just has to get used to him.

Your dogs and cats are so adorable!! 21 weeks here. Going for my anatomy scan soon. So anxious. Please pray that everything is ok. I don't have any pets at home. I love both cats and dogs though. My parents have a cat that I kinda grew up with in my later years. Maybe one day in a few years we will get a dog.

Good morning and happy Monday ladies!

QotW: We have one, very snotty and not very sociable (with people other than us) cat named Akasha. But she LOVES me and has been especially lovey and cuddly since I got pregnant. We are already keeping her out of the nursery and will only let her near the baby when we are around until we see how she does. Also, in the hospital I will have Wee wear a onesie, and then send DH home with it so Akasha can get used to the scent.

I'm a little concerned with how she'll be since I know she doesn't like kids. I'm hoping that at worst, she'll just ignore the baby. But with how cuddly she's being, maybe she'll be a love!

@capps42613 Yay for new floors, that will look really nice! We decided to stick with the same carpet we've got everywhere, but the walls are getting uber-decorated! I probably will not get the 3D or 4D ultrasound. I've personally never really liked how they looked, and I don't like the idea of spending extra money on one. Your kitty is sooo cute!

@chicandbubbly Welcome to second trimester and congrats on your little boy! We will find out the gender of Wee on the 8th.

@NurseTMD85 So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, that's the pits! Hope you have a quick recovery and that all of your upcoming appointments go well!

@Drove2u Praying for an awesome scan! We really want to get a dog too, but my cat is 10 years old so I don't want to try to introduce her to a dog this late in her life. We'll get one in a few years.

@dragonfaerie my friend has a cat who is vicious to everyone but her. They were also concerned as they have 2 small babies, but the cat just ignores them. We steer clear of her too when we come over, as she hisses and sometimes scratches us for no reason. Cats can be such tough cookies and I've had a few until I moved out and got my dog. Hope yours learns to just live with the LO.

@Tulips29 it's just an added expense ($150-200 depending upon the facility). My MFM place will only do 3D if they have an issue evaluating something. I'm just impatient to see his face lol.

@capps42613 hmm, I will ask my OB today. He doesn't have u/s machines in his office, so I go to another facility to get them done. I figured they automatically do 3D at some point, but maybe not.

Well almost 21 weeks level 2 anatomy scan on Wednesday praying they both look great. I'm scared my one cat will be jealous and worried about them peeing on the baby stuff.

Another thing that I've used before for other stressors on my cat (moving especially) is getting a pheromone diffuser. They sell them at pet stores and I used to be able to find them at Wal-Mart (though I couldn't find one last time I was there.) It releases the same type of pheromones as a cat scratching or peeing, so they don't feel like they need to do that. You plug it in near the area that you think there might be a problem, like by the couch, or by the nursery. It just helps kitties feel more peaceful without having to mark their territory because it's like they already did.

Hello! 25 weeks this week and feeling pretty good. I do think however that I have developed a hemorrhoid which totally sucks. I see the doctor for my monthly appointment on Thursday so I will ask about it then. I was in a wedding over the past weekend and I am totally drained (still!) from it and it doesn't help that I have a busy week at work. Oh well, at least there is a holiday weekend coming up!!

QOTW: We have a 6 year old cockapoo, Bentley who LOVES people (not too sure about babies). I have a feeling he will actually be great with him and the worst he will do will just be to lick him all the time! We plan on putting a dog bed in the nursery so Bentley can adjust/be in the nursery before the baby comes. We also plan on bringing home the blanket for scent like others have mentioned.

I am feeling so wiggly and out of it! Our anatomy scan isn't until the 8th and I cannot WAIT to find out if we are having a boy or girl! Of course we will be happy with either, but we'd like a boy because DH is likely the only one who will carry the family name on. Ahhhh! I just need to be busy until next Thursday!

Hi ladies! Sounds like everyone is progressing nicely. Awesome. I love seeing all the us pics and pet pics! So far we have made it 11 days with out another incident. I'm still paranoid, and not allowed to be by myself for more than an hour. But thanking God that everything has calmed down. We decided not to announce on FB now, we had to regretfully turn down our very good friend's offer to throw us a shower in my husband's home state, and we are not headed up north for my yearly family reunion. So I am a little bummed, but I think my anxiety would just not allow me to enjoy myself while so far from my doc.

QoTW:

We have two dogs. Our chessie adores babies, she just wants to be a mama so badly. She literally stalks strollers while we are on walks. She protects my niece and nephew from everything, even being scolded by their mother! She is going to be awesome. Our hound also LOVES kids. He is very curious about them and just wants to lick their faces and sniff their ears. He has not been around tiny babies - youngest a few months - so I am a little nervous, but like with any let we will keep a close eye on them. I'm sure it will be great. Esp since we are having a boy. The three of them are going to be BFF!
We are going to do a few training sessions w/ a trainer that specializes in helping prep for new family members.

AFM- OB visit went well. HR is still in the 150's, his usual. I'll have my GT next week at the lab. He is still in a breech position. I know it's early, but I'd love to avoid a CS at all cost lol.

I had my OB appointment yesterday and it's always nice to hear the heartbeat and know baby boy is ok in there. I also learned something new - my placenta looked to be low during my last ultrasound. The doctor said if the baby kicked it, it could have been the cause for my bleeding...and since it's low it's easier for the baby to kick it. He also said that if doesn't look to be growing into its normal place, there's a high chance it will develop into placenta previa. Which means I will have to have a c-section a few weeks early. Ah, now I just hope this placenta grows like it should and I can avoid an early c-section.

@Tulips29 - Its nice to sometimes at least have an answer. Hopefully placenta will work its way back to normal so you won't have to worry about Placenta Previa!

It's definitely scary to think about having to have a C-section, but the good news is that with a plan in place it's more likely that everything will go easier.

Just finished my level 2 antamoy scan. Everything went well but baby B did not cooperate for some body parts to be seen. Also told today that may babies each have their own placenta. In the beginning I was told they shared so this is a relief
