Had my sprinkle today!! It was small and sweet with about 15 friends and family. Nothing like delicious Italian and amazing cupcakes for lunch. For those who remember my gender reveal cupcake disaster, the woman promised us free cupcakes for any event! We definitely took advantage of that for the sprinkle and ordered 24 (cannoli, peanut butter, choc, and coconut) cupcakes. And get this... They were decorated in PINK!!!!
Funny story, when my friend went to pick up the cake there was a very similar one to what she ordered decorated in blue that read "welcome baby boy" and she almost lost her shit haha
I posted this on the FB page but I'm just so excited with how these photos turned out!!! The hike was totally worth it because these shots are stunning. This is just a teaser shot, she said it's not even the best one, but I just love it
Ok so since I'm new to this baby girl game, do you guys wash these cute little headbands?? I'm afraid they'll get destroyed if I do
I washed them but in the delicate cycle and just hung them to dry. Most of them are like head wraps though. If they looked fragile, I probably wouldn't have washed them unless baby girl had some sort of reaction.
Congratulations @TheTamedShrew! Eden is beautiful! Pretty name too.
Guys.....DH goes back to work tonight. Cue freak out mode. My first night with all four kids by myself, my first night taking care of Oli and Jo on my own at night with no safety net. I really have no idea how I did this with R&E. Oh, and bonus.....R&E both have colds. Lovely. I really hope they feel better soon but I REALLY hope they don't pass their nasty, phlegmyness on to the babies.
@UnwritteN12 Oh dear, I feel for you. I'm terrified of when DH has to go back to work after the baby is born and she's not even here yet! I have faith in you though, you can do it mama! I hope your littles feel better soon!
Guys I think DH is nesting... today was his only day off this week and after the photoshoot, I had a nap and woke up to him cleaning up outside, and now he's vacuuming like a mad man, and cleaning every surface of the house. He's even dusting! He hates dusting! I feel kind of bad because I've been sitting on the couch all day but he won't let me do anything. I love this guy.
My husband was nesting today, too! Too bad it was on stuff that's not a priority (like painting the basement or staining the deck). Oh well! At least something is getting done! I was hoping maybe some of that nesting would rub off on me-no luck yet!
I need some more babies! Or pictures. Babies and pictures?
We're getting a new van! We bought ours used, but now we're getting one brand spankin new. With all the bells and whistles that I originally wanted but thought we couldn't afford. I am so stoked. We debated getting an suv instead, but now that we've HAD a minivan, we can't go back.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
Good luck, @UnwritteN12! I'm sure you'll do great--but I'll confess I'm already nervous about just handling two on my own some nights! Let us know how it goes! Sending lots of sleepy thoughts to your kiddos!
@Redmar I had my sprinkle today, too! My mom just told me a couple weeks ago she was throwing it which was super unexpected and unnecessary since it's my second boy, but it was nice to spend the afternoon with my family and closest friends, and 2.0 got spoiled with some things I wouldn't have bought him otherwise (we have pretty much everything ready at this point). It was a lovely day. I just hope this one doesn't make an appearance tomorrow like his older brother did the day after his shower.
@yellowrose314@kdtaylor6177 my DH was nesting today too- though I think it might just be out of sympathy for my desire yet inability to get it done right now. He sent me out of the house this morning to go swim with a friend, then she and I studied in a coffee house all afternoon, and I came home late afternoon to a clean house! 50 points to Gryffindor!
For those not in the FB group I've had a very rough recovery but just wanted to AW my Alice Ruth a little and drop by to check in on everyone now that I'm starting to feel better. The bump doesn't work very well in the hospital but hopefully we go home tomorrow. Congrats to all the new mommies and good luck to everyone meeting their babies soon. I miss keeping up with all of you ladies.
Thanks for the good juju ladies. We made it through the night with the babes sleeping pretty well actually. I am so hoping for a nap for myself today though...
I'm a little more off deaths door today. Was horribly sick yesterday throwing up several times which forced us to use doner milk and slowing down on trying to get my milk to come in. One more day me we hopefully get to go tomorrow. She is much more content today since we brought in a pacifier for her. One more thing I recommend putting in a hospital bag just in case.
@VeraMali I'm glad you are close to going home. I'm hoping you are feeling better now that the problem has been recognized and that you can soon get to relax at home with your little family!
@jabreen@jenkar01 my app crashes in HDBD, announcements, etc too. That's why I haven't posted in those forums for a while! Super annoying. One reason I was looking forward to the FB group.
@Megan324 and everyone else having the "oh shit it's time and I can't do this moment", ever seen the episode of Friends where Rachael watches the birthing video 9 months pregnant? She freaks out, starts crying, and is like "How do I change my mind??? I can't do this! Oh god oh god!" And Monica is like "I feel so bad for yyyooouu!!!!"
@rn1stbae I'm ready for the baby for sure! I just wish he could teleport out of my uterus and into my hands without the delivery part. That's what has me scared the most because I don't deal well with pain. And my hospital changed the rules of when to come in. It's no longer 5-1-1. Now they want contractions that are 3-4 minutes apart, for 2 hours!!!!! That last at least a minute. Two hours is a long time to be in pain. And my husband doesn't deal very well when I cry. The closer it gets to my due date, the more scared I get...
@RN1stBae yes yes yes hahaha also I was having painful BH in the hospital while I was visiting SIL and the nurse told me that braxton hicks never hurt. and I asked if she has ever had them and she said no. uhm don't tell me what II'm feeling lol I felt like Rachel when she went to the hospital for BH and Ross told her they didn't hurt.
@Megan324 that nurse would get an "Oh hell no!" from me. Don't tell me what hurts and what doesn't when you've never been here. Also, how do you know we experience pain the same way?
There isn't a trophy in life for being tough in the delivery room. I don't want something that will negatively affect my baby, but why should I suffer?! Rawr.
@marikkita12 often times contractions are uncomfortable at that point but they are not as painful as when you move further into labor. If you have contractions you can't walk or talk through, you should go in regardless and if they are hurting that bad, chances are you'd be admitted and could get some pain relief quick. Just trying to ease your mind about being in lots of pain for two hours, you are likely to ease into it a bit.
@RG1 Haha, yep - still pregnant this morning! And still irrationally disappointed about it! On top of it all, I lost more of my MP yesterday and got irrationally excited about that. Then, I woke up at 3:30am with probably my most intense BH contraction yet and couldn't help but wonder if it was finally the beginning of something. Annnnnnd no. Gah.
The silver lining - our friends just got a boat and are going out for a cruise this afternoon, docking for dinner and then heading back in and they invited us to join them! I'm mildly apprehensive about the idea of going into labor on a boat (moreso the time it would take to get back to land and then to the hospital) but at this point, it's almost like, "I dare you baby. Do it." Lol. And even if baby doesn't make things interesting, it'll still be really, really nice to get out of the house and relax on the water.

@VeraMali sorry to hear your recovery isn't going well
I don't think we've heard from @bibliobebe lately - wonder what she's up to.
Woke up this morning mad that I'm still pregnant. It's so irrational. @jennm205 and @annas930 what about you guys?!
I feel the same way.
