Thanks, all. She got out of surgery about an hour ago and from what my sister relayed to me, the doctors seem positive and optimistic about the results. We should know more soon. She's just recovering now. I'll be calling soon to check in.
Today is a day that it pays to be a doula. I am feeling really anxious about baby and just want to hear the HB for a little peace of mind. I messaged my MW who is in friend territory thanks to doula-ing and she is loaning me a doppler. I will get to hear that HB soon.

I'm wearing my Bella band as a belly band today for the first time since DS was born. I've been using it like a tube top to make dresses appropriate for work
I'm just catching up on this week's episodes of Bachelor in Paradise. I had to mute Ashley I.'s spiel at the rose ceremony. It was too much awkward for me.
Would there be any point to have a BIP thread? Or should I go somewhere else to get my fix?
@floatingelephy I love the idea of a BIP thread! Although I'd have to avoid until the Sunday after each airing, because I have a standing date to watch it on Saturdays with my little sister. The things I do for my siblings!
Has anyone tasted their own breast milk?? What's it taste like? Haha I don't know why I just randomly thought of this. I'm being reminded now of that one episode in Friends where Ross drinks Rachel's breast milk.
I have and it's not bad at all. It tastes like very sweet watery cow's milk (I've only ever drank cow's milk so I have nothing else to compare it to).
Yep- this exactly. I've tried almond, coconut, and soy milk and the best comparison is super watered down cow's milk. Like start with fat free milk and water it down.
I have a little bit of an issue with Lipase in my milk so once it's frozen it changes. Neither kid seemed to mind but I thought it tasted gross after it was frozen.
I can't wait to trick my husband into having some and seeing if he can tell the difference! Thanks for your responses, ladies!!
@fourPsinapod I'm glad your mom is doing well. I will continue to pray for her!!
@raptormomma Naw, I know he wouldn't be terribly upset over it. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare. In fact, he's the one who jokes about it because I warned him that sometimes women squirt milk when they orgasm.
Yaaaa you guys don't know the dynamic between my husband and I. He's always teasing me and playing pranks on me. And I like never play any pranks on him because I'm lazy and not that smart.
Once H ran out of coffee creamer and I offered up my milk. He tried it but never asked again haha . I did like to hide around corners and get him in the face once in a while.
@Gingersnap That is quite the mental image. I'm trying to imagine DH's face if I did that... I might have to try it at least once just for entertainment value.
Here is my random: I'm a finance nerd, and I have totally geeked out that they finally released the Dave Ramsey budget app for android. I'm looking forward to trying it out next month! I find very odd things exciting.
Ok, I'm going to a gender reveal party Saturday. I've never gone and usually wouldn't...but Vi will have fun with all the kids there and TACO MAN. Anyhow, am I supposed to bring a gift? I have no idea what the etiquette is for these things.
I'm not a DR follower, @WinchesterGirl but I will share your excitement as a fellow mad budgeter. Hope you enjoy it! I haven't found an app I like, and still do old-school Excel spreadsheets.
@Gingersnap I've been to two..one of them specifically said no gifts, so we didn't bring one. And the second one, I brought a gift, but it was for the mom, since we didn't know the baby's sex yet. My friends and I went in on a gift. I got her a robe and slippers, someone else got her a mani/pedi certificate, and someone else got her a nursing pajama set. And then we got her baby gifts at her baby shower.
@Xstatic3333 I currently have a fantastic excel spreadsheet! I have kept it for years, but I still try out new apps from time to time... it would be really nice to have the budget on the phone, and the spreadsheet is just so unwieldy on mobile!
@PerraSucia He is not for everybody. We just modify it slightly to fit our needs. I'm curious though, is it his personality or the plan itself?
@Gingersnap If you want to bring something, I think a small pack of diapers would be appropriate. But, if I only get a Facebook invite I don't show up.
@WinchesterGirl he personally is such an ass. But having listened to his podcast for a while because I'm also a finance nerd I pretty much only think his plan works for middle America or people that are insanely bad with money. not the snowball plan but the cash only for everything and only 15 year mortgages.
@PerraSucia I've heard a lot of people dislike his personality. It doesn't bother me personally, but in the south his personality type is pretty common.
It is definitely a basic plan, and it's not to going to turn out these crazy extravagant results in a short time (extreme early retirement, perma-travelling, etc). SO much of America is in bad financial shape though, that there is definitely a market for the basics.
Re: Gordon Ramsey, I've been binge watching his shows on Hulu for weeks! The F word doesn't censor out the cursing and it has some more graphic stuff in it, but man the recipes look fantastic!

@MommaBean good luck! Tracking your money and budgeting totally works just as much as calorie counting. I use mint.com when I'm being good. I call it my financial diet and all my coworkers laugh at me when I'm on it because I stop drinking Starbucks and eating lunch out.

These things are always so much more stressful than they should be.
