@Kacie209 I too give a urine sample at every visit. But it sounds like it may not be "the norm" for all doctors?
I had my 1 hour glucose test Monday at 25 weeks on the dot and found out today that I passed. Well wishes to all of you who have them coming up (and the rechecks too)!
Oliver's heart sounded good and my BP was "perfect" but my iron was high which made my nurse exclaim in surprise. At the advice of some here, I'm not going to overthink that too much. He is making me a BIG meat eater so I suppose it's not too shocking.
@gowenc I did not fast for my appointment, which was at 8:30. I took the first swig of the drink at 9:09 (lol specific). My doc said to have a breakfast that morning like I would normally, which was around 7:00. Just to give you one perspective!
Yeah, my appointment is at 10:30, so I probably wouldn't have eaten in the hour beforehand anyway. Thanks for the insight everyone! (still no return call from OB's office...)
I had my appointment today. DR wrote me my script for my breast pump said all looks good from the anatomy scan. Listened to the heartbeat. DR said I need to do my glucose test before my next appt and gave me the instructions and the orange drank. Instructions say not to eat anything for two hours, then drink the stuff within 7 minutes then I need my blood drawn exactly an hour later. DR also said my next appointment will be in a month then after that every two weeks until November then every week until the baby comes.

Glucose test was yesterday and found out today that I passed with a level of 103! YAY!!!! I ate a bowl of greek yogurt sweetened with pyure and cut up strawberries for breakfast. Dr. told me to eat something protein-y and low carb for breakfast before the test.

Whoop! Passed my glucose test of Tuesday And my blood platelet count has been normal the last 2 times it was checked. It was barely low the first time, so good to know that was just a fluke.
I don't envy you guys having to do the glucose tolerance test. I'm exempt from that since I will be diabetic no matter what--pregnant or not. :P But I've heard that test isn't much fun...!
Had my fetal echocardiogram done today (referred to pediatric cardiology because of the heart disease risks associated with diabetes), and the cardiologist said everything looked beautiful! With a normal echo, we've ruled out about 90% of issues with the heart baby can have. My husband and I were so relieved... we keep hearing about all these awful things that can happen to the baby's different body systems because of my diabetes, but each step of the way, things are looking healthy and we are definitely rising above/defeating all the crap this disease can cause! We are kicking diabetes' ass!
Just got a notification from my medstar patient portal about a message...was hoping it was test results but was just a reminder about flu season coming. I'm anxious to get those results!
@penelope4612, thanks girl! I am sitting here in the waiting room of the lab now, just finished drinking the 'juice', it was lemon lime flavor, not so bad. 3 hrs to go...
