I have my 24-week check-up tomorrow afternoon. It was supposed to be a quick monthly appointment, but after last month's U/S (which came back with no issues), they wanted to do another one since they couldn't get a good measurement of his spine. So, I'll have that and then the appointment.
DH was going to come with, but sadly, he'll be at a funeral for a good friends dad who passed away last week. I couldn't change the appointment, so I told him he should go to that for his friend.

Regular OB appointment tomorrow. Doing the glucose test, too. Not sure why she's having me do it so early (one day shy of 23 weeks). Won't be surprised if my new doc has me do it again at 28 weeks after we move. Oh well.
Tomorrow is my basic 24 week appointment- I'm sure it will be listen to the heartbeat, ask questions, move on Glucose test won't be until 28 weeks and then I'm at bi-weekly appointments! How quick this has flown by!
I have my regular ob appointment tomorrow morning. Just the usually stuff. I'm sure we'll talk about when I'll be getting the glucose test along with the ultrasound results since this is the first appointment since I've had the AS.
Had my 24 week appointment this morning. Squish is just like daddy and can't stop moving!! On the Doppler we could hear the heartbeat on top of Squish's non-stop movement! The doctor and I were cracking up! She said my bump was small but I was measuring right on track. I also only gained half a pound, which concerned me but she wasn't. She figures everything I'm eating is going directly to Squish, who is also measuring right on track, so she said to keep doing what I am doing. I'm cleared for my business trip next week. I also told her about the bad cramp I had in my belly last night, which felt like one of my Charlie horse cramps in my leg, and she said it could have been a Braxton hicks contraction, but just keep drinking fluids. I got my scrip for the glucose test, which I'll do when I get back from my trip, and I go back in 4 weeks. After that it's every 2 weeks! And I'm not carrying as low as I thought I was, doc said Squish was right in the middle. Probably feel Squish lower at times because of that non-stop movement.

Today! I think I should stop having my appointments on Mondays but whatevv. Today is just my 24 week check up, I'm sure it'll be pee in a cup, check my vitals, listen to the heartbeat, and talk about the glucose test that I will need to do soon. Sigh. My appt is also at noon which I thought was super strange as well....

I have only had to do it at my first, along with all that other bloodwork stuff. For my second, I went with a full bladder thinking they'd want it... nope! And then the one after that, I didn't have to either.

@Kacie209 I have had to leave a specimen at every single visit. Sometimes I think my bladder is going to bust between home and the doctor, as it's a 30 min drive with traffic. I am always having to use the restroom.
Also, DH isn't able to come this week for the U/S due to what I mentioned above. My mom is still off from work until Thursday (she works for the school district and they start this week), so I was thinking of asking her to come with... it's her first grandbaby. I am guessing it wouldn't be an issue, although have read some places only allow spouses.
Have any of you had anyone else besides DH in with you for an U/S?

@Kacie209 yep I pee in a cup each time. I figured it was for the stuff previously mentioned and maybe protein for pre-e?
@tinattt23 do you have PCOS or any other conditions that might make you at a higher risk for GD? I have PCOS and my OB had me do a glucose test at 20 weeks. I re-test at 28 weeks.

Endocrinologist and OB appointment tomorrow back to back. OB should be quick, just pee in a cup and check for heartbeat with the doppler. I actually may just see a nurse or midwife. I've been monitoring my BP with a home wrist cuff and hope they won't be too troubled by my numbers. I've never had high BP ever, but 140/90 is becoming more and more the norm for me. And my pulse is ridiculous, like 105-115 at any given time. And no I'm not testing right after coffee, running up stairs, anything like that. =/

@em01092 Nope. Nothing I'm aware of that could make me high rush. No PCOS, no history of diabetes for myself or family, healthy weight, etc. This will be my last appointment with this OB before I move so I'm thinking she just maybe wanted to get it out of way?
I have an ob appointment on Wednesday, no mention of a glucose test yet so I'm thinking that may be at the next appointment. I'll get to hear the heartbeat and I have a list of questions ready to go!

@Kacie209 Yep, every visit I have to pee in a cup. Strangely in the orientation the nurses told the all the prego ladies that they don't drug test the urine so not to be shy.....
Full prego brain today. I thought today was my appointment and I come to find out it's on Wednesday.
Me (28), H (30) Together Since 04/21/2009; Married Since 05/29/2013
No appointments this week, just chiming in to say that I've had to pee in a cup every time too. My OB told me that they use it to check for protein for signs of pre-e. Your OB may have a different policy of checking for pre-e so you may not need the pee test.
@kacie209: I don't pee in a cup every time. They literally ask if I'm having any urinary symptoms and I say no and they say the don't need a sample. I gave one at my first appointment and not since then.
I also had my glucose tolerance test at my 24 week appt, last week. I got the results this week-I FAILED! I was bawling . I am scheduling the 3 hr test-hopefully I pass that one. My blood glucose level was slightly elevated (154 versus recommended <140). The nurse said that it should be OK, but that they want to do their due diligence...still freaking out.

@queenklau - oh no! I have my glucose test next week and am scared of failing. I hope everything is ok (although if you do end up with GD, I've heard it can be a pain to manage but IS manageable).
One of my good friends ending up having GD, and she said it wasn't as bad as she thought it was. They basically cleaned their house of bad carbs and actually ate better for the rest of her pregnancy. For me, I could handle that... just not the constant checking of sugar levels since I don't handle needles very well. With how much weight I've gained so far (even with exercise and *trying* to eat well), I am concerned with having it... even though I know other factors contribute, too. My maternal Grandma has Type 2, but didn't get it until she was in her 70's (she just turned 90 in December).
I wonder why my hospital doesn't do the pee thing every appointment. Oh well. With how many times I am peeing a day now anyways... I should be able to if needed this afternoon.

I had my 24 week appointment yesterday. It was a regular OB visit with vitals, HB check and questions. She gave me my script for the glucose test and suggested taking it earlier (now versus waiting until 28 weeks) since your body metabolizes sugar much easier earlier rather than later in pregnancy. So I'll be taking mine in the next week since I'm only 23+4.
I also have to give a specimen every visit which they check very closely because I've had pre-e and pregnancy induced hypertension (gestational hypertension) with both of my children.
I always have to pee in a cup. Only one time so far has it come back with elevated bacteria levels so they put me on antibiotics. I'm prone to UTIs though. I'm concerned about my glucose test in 2 weeks because diabetes runs in my family and my cousin had GD with all 4 of her pregnancies. I've been trying to eat healthy although the only thing this kid seems to want is carbs. But I'm eating healthy carbs, whole grain bread and pastas, brown rice. My only really bad carb is the bagel I eat for breakfast.

DH and I just got in from my perinatal doc. Michael is weighing in at 1 lb 14 ozs (I'm kinda freaking out, as that seems big), and looks good. Here's a pic of him pushing his hands and feet against me, and another of just his feet.
Had my 24 week check today. Vitals and HB on DS2 sound good. We talked a lot about my indigestion issues and agreed to try some medication. We also talked about PPA and starting medication after birth instead of waiting for a shit show to happen since I'm already having anxiety attacks. Next appointment is in 3 weeks and will be my glucose test, whooping cough vaccine and normal check.
23 week appointment today. All is well. Even the nurse asked why I was doing my glucose test so early. Uh, cause you guys told me to? Got pretty light headed/nauseas from the blood draw. Weird, but nothing a little Taco Bell couldn't solve
Just got back from my 24-week a little bit ago. HB was 142 and was measuring right on schedule. I only gained 5lbs, too... which I feel should have been a lot more. I also think my weight gain is in my legs as they are much bigger than pre-PG.
I also had another U/S cos they couldn't get a good measurement of his spine the last time, so that was first. I had my mom with since DH couldn't make it, and I know she enjoyed seeing her grandbaby on the screen. However, he wasn't cooperating and they couldn't get another measurement. So, I get to have another U/S done 9/20. This is the same day as my already scheduled Glucose Test and checkup... so I am basically spending my day at the hospital (11:45 U/S, 1:10 Glucose, 1:30 appt).
My OB said that there wasn't any big concerns with it, just that they couldn't get what they wanted. I guess I don't mind seeing him again, but am not looking forward to paying it 3X.

I've got my glucose test on Thursday, really hoping it goes well. I'll also start the conversation with my OB about how I want a low-intervention birth (if possible - obviously things can happen I have no control over). I'm curious to see how he reacts to that request.
Anatomy scan on Thursday, whoop! H has to work and I'm having my mom babysit... This will be the my first ultrasound all alone and I couldn't be more excited. The thought of just laying on a table in a quiet room with no toddler demanding fruit snacks.... Heaven.
Side note- I told my mom it was just a regular Drs appointment because I didn't want to risk her asking if she could go. Oopsies.
I had my regular OB check up yesterday. All is good and scheduled my next appointment with another glucose test (they made me take one at the very beginning because my BMI is overweight) around 25 weeks.

@Kacie209 I know it's too late for your appointment this week, but you asked about going to an appointment by yourself... I just wanted to share that I had a follow up anatomy scan yesterday because they needed to check a measurement that was concerning from the first one in July. I ended up being sent straight to L&D to be checked by the on call doctor because my cervix is too short, and I was put on bed rest immediately. I was a wreck and completely unprepared for hearing that kind of news. I'm so glad DH was there with me. I would not have wanted to hear that alone. Obviously this wont happen to everyone, but I just think I would prefer to have someone there with me if I was given difficult news/ information that needed a lot of processing. Just my opinion. Glad your appointment went well!
Went to my OB check up yesterday at 23+2...She went over my anatomy scan results from the office that did the ultrasound and gave me more information about my bicornate uterus. She said that she will have the other doctor continue to do my ultrasounds and monitor me and baby closely.
Next appointment in September I will have to do my glucose test again, and get that shot in my stomach since my blood type is A-.
A friend just told me she thought I needed to fast from 8:00 PM the night before my first glucose test. I don't remember my OB saying anything about that - I thought it was just for the longer one? Anyone know?
@gowenc Just did mine yesterday. My instructions were only to fast for 1 hour before the drink. Policies vary from place to place it seems. If you doc didn't mention fasting, I wouldn't worry about it.
@gowenc I'd call and ask- I messed up my GD test with DD and ended up having to do the 3 hour one because I did end up eating something before the 1 hour because I was unsure .... (I did end up passing)
