@amye102485 Thank you! I was hoping that wasn't the only way and we still had personalized pages hidden somewhere. Sigh, oh well. I'll get off my SS Soapbox about it now I guess haha
I'm curious to see how much bigger my boobs will get. Before, I was a 30 E or EE. Now I'm in a 32/34 EE or F. Bras for those sizes are expensive y'all.
Feel like bursting into tears right now. I had an appointment with my new doctor today at 1:30PM. We are switching insurances to Kaiser. So this late in the game, I've had to look for a new doctor (Another option was continuation of care, but it just seemed complicated).
Anyway today, Kaiser calls me and tells me my appointment has been canceled because the doctor didn't come in and if they could reschedule me to September 27, and when I'm like "okay but I haven't been seen by an OB in 3 weeks, I took off time today to see the doctor, and I'm in my third trimester!!!! Today was supposed to be the first time I'm seeing someone from Kaiser for my prenatal care. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and you're telling me the next appointment isn't till September 27????" She was just like "were gonna call you back, i'm gonna try and find you an appointment"
@annabenanna Oh girl, I'm so sorry! I would be crying for sure!! Surely they can get you in sooner? That just doesn't even make any sense and is so frustrating! Do you have any other options for possible doctors?
@Kaessi, I'm technically covered with my old OB until Sept 1, so I'm super tempted to give their office a call, see if she can see me this week, just to make sure everything is okay. So frustrating.
@emmaaa - feeling you on the huge boobage. I'm normally a 36DDD - I've increased to 38F already! I mean, how much bigger can they get?
Also, I'm terrified they're going to get allll stretched out and then just hang all sad like puppy dog ears after breastfeeding. I don't really want to add to the girls, but I'm really hoping for a nice "lift" once I (and I can't believe I'm already thinking about this) pop out kid #2 in the (hopfully) not so distant future!
@annabenanna Don't fret!! I'm sure they'll be able to squeeze you in sooner than 9/27!! There's no way, at 33 weeks pregnant, they'll let you go that long! And, if they DID agree to that, I would seriously reconsider their practice!! If you don't hear back soon, I would call again and get snarky. We're in third tri - we're allowed all the snark. We're protective mama-bears now!!
@annabenanna noooooooooo! That's awful of them to cancel! I was hoping you would have a smooth transition. Can you go to another location for the time being?
@LMNOBaby, I'm pretty sure they'll find a sooner appointment, but it makes me SO MAD that they didn't really put forth an effort to provide better service. Shouldn't there be a huge neon post it (or flag alert if on computer) on my file saying "THIRD TRIMESTER, SWITCHING TO KAISER, FIRST TIME BEING SEEN, DO NOT RESCHEDULE" or something? Instead I get that stupid person on the phone who says "oh well we'll see you on the 27th then? we have lots of appointments that day" I actually said to her "you're telling me I won't be seen from today until the week before I'm due? do you think that's safe?" (i'm usually NEVER snarky, but today I have ALL the snark!) She was like "oh well, i don't know if that's safe." Aaaaaaah, so mad!!!!
@SpaceBurger, I told them they could send me to ANY location at this point, and I would go, just to get seen.
@annabenanna no wayyyy, they are trying to say your 33-week appt will be 37 weeks?! That deserves a big hell no and, if you're still covered and IF they don't get their shit together ASAP I'd say go back to your previous doctor while you still can!
Called my old OB ladies, and she can get me in next Tuesday, the 30th if need be.
That makes me feel a little better. Let's see what Kaiser's next move is. This makes me think of the horror stories you hear from Canadians and Europeans.... "It could have been prevented if it was caught earlier, but there were no appointments available, and everything was 6 months to a year out."
I'm late hopping on today so nothing to add that others haven't said, but sending hugs @annabenanna! This is unacceptable and I hope they get this squared away quickly so you're not stressing over it.
@annabenanna I'm glad your old doctor can get you in if need be. Not a great first impression from Kaiser. I hope they put in a major effort to make up for it.
@annabenanna - I work in insurance so I get it. I was going to suggest you call Kaiser directly to complain and make them find an available OB and appointment ASAP. Kaiser is a little different since their doctors work for them (right?). Either way, that should make it even easier for them to find a spot for you. Sorry - insurance and doctors suck (well not really, but right now).

@annabenanna just echoing every else, so sorry you are dealing with this right now. Luckily your old OB can see you! Hope Kaiser gets this worked out!!
Morgan, is a "continuation of care" really complicated? When I talked to my old doctor's office manager, it just seemed like there were a lot of variables to it, and not very clear.
To be honest, your old OB's office should have to handle everything with a continuation of care. I'm on the corporate side in Business Development, but I still know insurance and everything I've known about it, is that prenatal care is now "bundled". So you should have paid an initial co-pay and all your visits after were covered. If that's not how yours was, then it would be a bit more complicated. But if that is what you did, you should be able to continue through your pregnancy. Did they say you'd have to handle filing paperwork with your new insurance to have everything covered? Usually the office would handle that, but they would come after you for payment if Kaiser was slow/non responsive. In either case, switching should be easier, but obviously isn't ideal. And some people are really, really particular about their providers and that's why these continuances are allowed. I would say if you don't get a good response from Kaiser this week, that I'd pursue the continuance with your current OB, at least until Kaiser is figured out.

I hadn't done the math... So you'll technically be full term by then. INSANE! What are those assholes thinking?!
@MorganL925 - they have never asked me for a co-pay. So I don't know if it was bundled from the beginning. My old OB doc basically said: "tell Kaiser that you want continuance of care and they'll give you a form that you'll then give us. we can then handle it from there". To me it just seems really complicated because when I asked about how co-pays were gonna be for the actual delivery (will my old insurance terms apply or my new insurance terms?) They couldn't give me an answer.
However I'm happy to report ladies, that with that awful saga/experience, I am now happy to say they're gonna see me at 8:30AM on Thursday. Another doctor, but I don't care at this point--I just wanna be seen.
I'm keeping my appointment with my old doc for next Tuesday, just in case.
If Kaiser cancels on me again this week, I swear, I'm gonna head over there and let sum bitches catch my fade! Because I'm about to get all ghetto on them. "Girls, hold my earrings!!!!"
@annabenanna I'm glad things seem to be working out!
When leaving work, I was putting my bag in the backseat and when I turned around, I hit my belly hard on the side of the car door. It really hurt O is fine, I've felt him wiggling around like normal, but I cried, it hurt so bad.
@annabenanna I'm so sorry you have to go through that stress, but I'm happy to hear they're actually getting you an early appt and not just saying "meh, take it or leave it".
@ashleyp625 I've done that a couple of times. The first time I was closing the back driver side door and didn't realize my belly was in the way and smacked it right off my side. It left a bruise! That was still early on so I wasn't feeling him yet but I was hoping cause he was so small and I'm plus size, my extra fat would protect him. So far everything seems okay, so I guess it did. Be careful though, hard to tell how big our bellies really are.
In other news, DH comes home tonight, so so late...but i'm making eggplant parmigiana right now and I have never made it before. I didn't realize how MUCH WORK this would be!
Do y'all wash the new lovies that are gifted to you? I assume they're hand wash only but wonder if they wash well since the top half is more like a stuffed animal than a blanket
