We got a co-sleeper thing that attaches to the bed and sits next to it, so there's no way to roll over her, but she'll be right there. I'm so excited about this, especially for nursing. I think it's one of the best inventions. I'm thinking this will last about 3 months or so, but I'm leaving the timeline open.
@sarahrose83 - we have the same co-sleeper bassinet! It's amazing, I've used it with my 2 DDs and would recommend it to anyone. I even loaned it out to several friends! Although I never attached it to my bed, it was always right up against my bed. I can't tell you how many times the baby started fussing, I'd just put my hand on her little tummy and say 'shhh', and she'd go back to sleep. It saved me many hours of sleep! I'm so excited to get it out one last time omg, I'm going to cry now...
Totally random, but is anyone totally terrified of kicking over a bassinet stand at night? I'd love to get one for the moses basket, but I'm the clumsiest person in the world, and I just have visions of a sleep-deprived me tripping on it and baby going flying.

@PensiveCrayon I'm was looking at the halo bassinet. Planned on ordering from Amazon, but I went to BRU to shake it and see how hard it was to knock over. Between us and the dog, it will get ran into. FI and I both beat the display up pretty good and we're confident it'll stand upright. So you are not alone

We're planning on buying the same, so this is great to hear! I'm planning on being in our downstairs guest room with the bassinet for the first few weeks while I'm recovering from the c section, and then moving upstairs with the bassinet. Fingers crossed we'll be moving little Bee into her own room around 3 months when I go back to work.
@PensiveCrayon You can always put it on a chair. We don't have a bedside table(can't find one that fits) so we have an ugly old armchair. We are starting to transition L into sleeping on his own (FFFC he is in a short laundry basket) he sleeps in the basket on the chair while we work on that transition.

PSA - Ladies with CATS! They make little nets to go over bassinets and cribs to keep the cats out. Even if you are starting in the nursery you might want to check it out for the crib. I am totally doing this - I can see the cats lounging in the crib all day and hairing it all up.

Cats hate tinfoil - when I was pregnant with DS, someone told me to put sheets of tinfoil into the crib, swing, RnP, etc, basically anywhere we didn't want the cats to hang out/sleep, prior to the baby arriving so they'd learn they didn't like to go there. Worked like a charm!

Ah, yes, I am clumsy when awake, and even more so when sleepy (and pregnant omg). The co- sleeper bassinet is super sturdy, I'd really have to put some muscle into it to knock it over. It's just like a mini crib.
We ended up going with the pack & play with the bassinet and changing table insert at least until he gets bigger and can roll on his own and his feedings are down to only a few at night. I just want him as close to me as possible that way I can monitor him and make sure everything is fine because we both do tend to worry a lot and are very overprotective. Our dogs sleep in the room with us but they love kids and babies and won't mess with him.
I just realized/remembered that we have this really cute garden cart. It sounds ridiculous to put the baby in there, but it's the perfect height, super stable, and has a shelf on the bottom where I could put spare dipes and wipes or something. Problem solved! (Baby will still be in a bassinet, not just chillin' in the garden cart, haha.)

We plan to use the bassinet for a few weeks, maybe even the first few months. I am way too much of a restless sleeper to co-sleep, and it's not for us anyway.
