We bought all the bedding (sheets, dust ruffle, and changing pad cover) and wall decals yesterday. We went with a teal/grey arrow theme with some fox accents. Now I just want to paint the room so I can put a bunch of stuff together!
Also I need to get on my laptop this morning and update the spreadsheet.. I'm slacking I was visiting my mom the past two weekends and have been busy getting ready for school. She has surgery this Thursday so hopefully we will know even more after that.
I'm thinking gray, too. Gray, white, and an accent color TBD after we know the sex. I'm looking forward to starting a registry and basically getting more organized and prepared, but I joined this car seat FB group and now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with even that most basic first essential purchase. And this isn't even my first rodeo!
Sending positive vibes your way @fourPsinapod concerning your mom's surgery!!
Also, I really like your color scheme for the nursery. That's my style too. I'm looking forward to finding out the sex next month so we can start planning ours as well. It's always an exciting time!

@MommaBean My daughters nursery is gray and white with light pink and I love it! I think I might go more bold for the next one but can't decide. We are having to get a new car seat as well and I'm so overwhelmed too. I also can't decide what to do about the stroller situation. I've been on Lucies list all the time.
@fourPsinapod Hope everything goes good with the surgery!
My mom and me bought this weekend fabric for the nursery. My mom is making the baby's nursery as a present for us. We picked out star wars themed fabric now that we know our baby is a boy, that is blue and Grey tones.
This poor little baby won't have a nursery unless we can move houses before he/she is born, but I tend to keep them in my room for the first few months anyway. I'm hoping that I'll feel secure enough about the post baby budget to feel comfortable about moving into something bigger because I'm already feeling claustrophobic and it seems like the more boxes I pack up and donate the more stuff we still have!
Randomness: I shared on last week's STM thread, but if anyone was interested in the Lily Jade diaper bags, they're have a promo code out through Wednesday for an additional 20% off everything other than leather care (code is TWENTY). They're trying to clear out the warehouse for the fall stock. I ordered this beauty and my total was about $10 more than what they're selling for used. I am so excited for it to arrive this week!!!! From what I've ready this is the first time they've ever discounted the bags so much.
I am so jealous of you girls working on your nurseries!! I cannot believe I am attempting team green! Am I crazy?!!? Where are my other team green ladies?
@fourpsinapod good luck with your mom's surgery on Thursday!
we won't know sex until 20 wks so our colors are grey and white. We'll add in color when we know the sex. our theme is adventure tho! omg my pinterest board is full of hot air balloons, planes and books. plus, this guy who I need.
This time I won't do much of a nursery. The baby will be in our room for a while because I don't want to go up and down the stairs all night. So it will probably be very simple until it becomes more of a kids room. Last time I had a nursery theme that only lasted a year before she was in a toddler bed and I re-did it all with a pottery barn kids theme.
@FishyMom - Team Green here as well (only because DH wanted to be). I haven't really put a lot of thought into the nursery yet... But, I'm leaning towards a soft green, maybe like a sage? Pops of orange and yellow. Who knows if I can get the guy on board with that idea.
In other random news, I became a great-aunt over the weekend. This seems really funny to me. DH is way younger than the rest of his siblings.
@FishyMom, I really want to stay team green, but H really doesn't. If he ends up going to the ultrasound with me on 9/15 then I'll just end up finding out because there's no way he will keep it a secret from me and I don't want to just find out randomly from him one day when he lets it slip. If he doesn't go though, I'm staying team green lol
@mlrocha I am a great aunt too!! DH has 4 older sisters and they are MUCH older the next closest is like 12 years or something. In fact DD calls her aunt Bella which is what her grandkids call her. She will be very confused about family dynamics someday.
@FishyMom we are team green!! We aren't doing a themed nursery, more like whatever works and doesn't look too atrocious lol. I do want a hot air balloon mobile though (like @Gretchypoo 's theme!) to honor my dad. I'm hoping everything just kind of designs itself beyond that once we get going
This is the theme we will be going with if we have a girl...a boy theme is still up in the air, but we're leaning towards grey, white and teal/turquoise with arctic wolves.
We close on our house on Thursday officially now. The sellers wanted an ammendment where we'd close and they'd pinky promise to do the repairs needed some time in the few weeks after that. Nope. So as of this morning they're having the radon mitigation system installed, a window replaced, and gutters fixed. They had 7 weeks to get that all done and just decided last week to start on things. Naughty... But! All is well, just starting to gulp at the cost of our first mortgage payment ever

I want to do hotair balloon for a girl and airplanes for a boy. So that way I will be able to do a sky themed before baby and add the details after!
@lct2008 it's going to be HARD!! The thing that keeps me going is that moment in the hospital being completed exhausted and my DH saying we have a "girl" or "son". I cannot wait for that moment... I really cant... and as much as it's driving me crazy, it's driving my family NUTS which is fun for me.
If we have a boy, he's going to be stuck in my daughters pink room. Oh well, he will survive it. We have a 3rd bedroom but it open to our garage and unless we seal it I don't feel comfortable putting a kid in there. Plus it's the main access to laundry etc. Kids off different sexes are good to share until they are much older, right? We hope to buy a bigger home in 5 or so years and keep this as a rental.
@Gingersnap My littler sister and brother shared a room until they were like 11 and 13. Basically, once they started going through puberty. They actually loved sharing a room up until that point.
Baby will share a room with us for quite a while, so it won't be a full on nursery. I do plan on dedicating and alcove in our room to baby and make it feel like the quaintest nursery ever. I'm leaning towards a hedgehog theme.

A hedgehog theme just made me squeal, thats adorable!
@FishyMom not Team Green, but planning a sex-irrelevant nursery just the same! We have a room that is yellow already, and the theme will be nature since we already have some nice art that will work. Hey, I'm a girl and I love nature, right?
I had to look back and see what thread I was in. Nurseries on the brain, lol.
My random though, what do you use for a due date? LMP, first ultrasound, later ultrasounds? I don't need to know for a super important reason, but, you know, my ticker, when to do belly pictures and the stickers I have to put in my planner. . How to decide? My doctor never officially gave a date.
Married - 7/29/06 Ben and Maggie - 4/10/09 Mia - 6/16/11 Surprise! due 2/23/17
@Partyof6? I use the EDD from my first dating ultrasound. My dude date using LMP is pretty unreliable because I have super short cycles. So I change how many weeks I am on Saturdays because my EDD falls on a Saturday
I'm going with the results of the dating ultrasound, but I didn't update my ticker as it was only 1 day different than by using ovulation date. I figure the dating ultrasound should be the most accurate since there's not a way to account for early/late implantation, etc.
Thanks! I switched to that but then have been measuring behind since, not by a ton, just that was like the rogue ultrasound. It will work for stickers and belly pics.

Thanks everyone! I love hedgehogs- they're so cute! I want to get one and name it Professor Quirrel. Right now, this pencil holder I painted is in our foyer.
I'm using my LMP but I usually consider both dates because they are almost a week apart. Ill be interested to see if I'm measuring ahead still at the anatomy scan.
I'm now using my LMP as baby has caught up based on the NT scan measurements.
I am thinking about doing this, too, for the same reason. I figure I'll wait and see where we're measuring as of the AS, but for conversational purposes, I'm just telling people "mid-February." I get having a date in mind for pictures, appointments, etc., but in reality, who knows when this kid is coming. I find a ballpark figure to be more reasonable.

My LMP and temping dates are only a few days apart, so I've just been using my LMP date as well with the intention of changing it to whatever date they give me at my AS on Sept. 2nd.
EDD's are "wrong" most of the time anyways because giving birth anywhere from 39 weeks to 41 weeks is considered normal, and only about 5% of babies are born on their due date. Ballparks are definitely better.

I'm going with my dating US date, since it is a heck of a lot closer to my temping date than my LMP. It's also later, which eases up the induction pressure. I'm excited to see if the numbers all still line up at my AS in a couple of weeks.
