I'm scheduled to be induced tomorrow morning at 9am and am a little apprehensive given all I've read about the risk of c-sections. Anyone have any experiences to share regarding inductions and being fairly dilated/ effaced/ full term?
My dr is on vacation and I met the dr covering for him yesterday when I sent to L&D for a false labor. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan ofthis guy and he wouldn't answer all my questions. He just said "we can induce you Sunday if you don't give birth before." I am going to ask more questions tomorrow before the induction starts but also wanted to hear other people's experiences here. I was 4cm/60% effaced yesterday. Lost huge amounts of my mucus plug yesterday and today. I guess I'm just deathly afraid of a c-section... has anyone gone into labor (natural or induction) at only -3 station? Please, I'm really nervous and would really appreciate only responsive answers/stories, no trolling or bullying. Thanks in advance.
My water broke while I was 0 dilated and 0% effaced with baby at -2, and I had no contractions happening. Nothing. One dose of Cytotech got the contractions going, and 14 hours later I delivered DD vaginally. At 4 cm/60% you are way ahead of where I started!
It's different for every labor and delivery, but I have at least one positive anecdote for you!
I was induced at 41 weeks and I hadn't dilated at all. Maybe 1/2cm when I walked in that morning. "High and tight" was what they always said during my weekly cervix checks. I was induced with cytotec and later an iv of pitocin was added. Still had a vaginal birth. Try not to worry (it's hard, I know. I was scared the day before and while checking into the hospital). Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your baby.
