@seitzy3 my son was sunny side up during labor and it sucked. Contractions allllll in the back. Do not recommend. He did flip before he was born, the nurses helped me try different positions to help that along but I wish I would have known and tried things beforehand. I spent a lot of time in labor on all fours with my bare ass in the air. And your friend is crazy pants.
@MojieJo that's crazy that he flipped! Both of my twins are now head down (a was breech/transverse until my latest ultrasound, but I had suspected she flipped). I'm just hoping they stay where they are!
@mamadomino I know! I have absolutely no idea how he managed it.
I guess he's super flexible like me, but they're cramped in there so tight that their normal movements are like little pokes, so it's blowing my mind a little.
I have been crap at keeping up on here today! Went to lunch with dh and decided I didnt want to go back to work so I went home and took a nap instead. After someone was talking about them this week, I primed an exercise ball, and it came today. It.is.amazing! When I sit on it my hips dont hurt!
Hi guys! One week of work down, one to go! Sorry I haven;t been keeping up! I'm so exhausted! Work decided to throw me a shower which is so sweet but I already bought everything from my registries....any ideas? I went in and added some books to them for now...
@Sarafuss - Those eyelashes....wow! Beautiful. Congratulations!!!
@MojieJo - Wednesday?? For real?!?! I apparently can not even comprehend how quickly August is rushing by because here I am thinking it's still early August when in reality it's closer to being over! So excited for you!!
Conversation that I just had with Robert - Me - (Robert trying on new school clothes) How come you're getting so big?? Please stop growing up! R - I can't stop growing up momma. Why do you want me to stop growing up? Me - Because I want you to always be my little boy. R - I'll always be your little boy momma! Me - Promise? R - Promise. And where ever you move, I'll move there too! (Starts to walk out of the room) Momma, the only way I will stop growing up is if I drink coffee. And I dont want to drink coffee!! ♡♡
@mom2adoodle with my DS1, if I ate spicy food it seemed to make him uncomfortable; however, it happened quite soon after it so I'm not sure if it was caused by the spicy food, or if my mind attributed his crankiness to the food I ate.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@RG1 I would definitely return it. I'm mobile so I can't click the link, but I have the summer infant wifi zoom and it's picture is super clear, not choppy at all. If your picture isn't good, I would return for something else.
@mom2adoodle I felt that way about emmett.. but babies are just insanely gassy. We would burp e real well after feeds, and often lay him down a little after and do bicycles/circles with his little legs and he would rip wild farts. Made for a good laugh!! Man I just remembered how noisy newborns are, all the grunts and bodily functions took me by surprise last time...
@mom2adoodle I second what @Themaritimemama said. Also, my nephew had such bad digestive issues, my sister had to limit herself to plain chicken with rice for like all of her meals. It's def an experimental game! Good for you for keeping up with the nursing despite all of the struggles you and Fin have been through!
@PSUBecky23 We do paced feeding and we hold him upright for 30 minutes after every feed. This has helped his spitting up but not his gas The ped recommended Simethicone drops but I would rather stop the cause of it instead of just treating it.
@RedMar WOW! Your sister sounds like a rock star! Now that's love.
Guys I'm really pumped. I found a photographer that will do my labor shoot for $50 (she's a professional but has never done them so I'm her Guinea pig so to speak). I'm knocking on all wood that things will go smoothly and that I can get some nice shots. Poor DH tried to grab photos last time but a lot of them are blurry bc he was so excited.
@mom2adoodle how bad is the gas? Our lactation nurses said the hiccuping at least is very normal and nothing to worry about. We also had the jaundice problem, so had to introduce the bottle...now LO prefers the bottle to the breast and we're having trouble latching.

That's the same one this is!! I wonder why our picture isn't clear. I guess we have 2 wifi networks and one is better than the other, so H suggested I put it on the other network. Might fix the problem
@frogdog06 Fin also struggles at the breast. Lactation consultants said he will likely develop the cheek muscle strength in a couple of weeks to be able to latch better. Fingers crossed! He loves his bottle (we use dr. Browns) but I do want him to breast feed. We practice twice a day since he gets super tired attempting to latch. He hiccups all the time!! The gas is usually after every other feed- he will scrunch up his legs and fuss. I've done bicycling his legs and other infant massage but I'm hoping to just nip this issue in the bud. He's great at farting but we rarely get a burp out of him no matter what technique we use. Does your LO have gas?
@mom2adoodle at the breastfeeding class I took on Wednesday, the instructor said that it takes about two weeks for whatever you eat to be fully out of your system so even if you cut out certain things, it might be a while until you see a result. I hope you are able to figure something that helps soon!
@redmar How much for digital copies? That's where they get you! A friend did newborn picks and chose the photographer based on the low sitting fee only to have each individual digital photo cost $40.
@mom2adoodle I support you fully in your quest to decrease gas before it happens, if you do find times that you need simethicone for him, it works like a detergent and makes the gas bubbles easier to pop/break down in the system and is not absorbed by the body just remains in gi tract. E used them from time to time with good success.
@RedMar make sure you ask her a few questions, like, when do you call her? When does she actually come? Is she on call from now until 2 weeks after you're due, meaning, she's not going to be out of town or unavailable when you go into labor? Does she have a backup in case she can't make it?
@KimmySchmidt for newborn sessions, she normally does $100 for 10 digital copies. But because she's a first timer to birth photog, she's charging me $50 with no picture limit.
I do photography as a side job and I totally get what you're saying. I'll give them the rights, but if they want professional non-Walmart developed photos, they do cost a pretty penny.
@seitzy3 High fives for helpful MILs! Mine is coming over today to paint my nursery. Also, I have a dresser being delivered on Monday and now have to think about tipping. Pretty sure I paid a surcharge already for delivery though.
@AnnaS930 I love that you sneak spinach in smoothies for e. That is my base ingredient and mine always look Shrek-colored but taste delicious!
Random: My FI and I love Boston Terriers and have been patiently waiting to find a rescue that needs us and have been on a waiting list with a reputable breeder for the last year. We've had no luck with either so far.
Well, the breeder called us yesterday because they have just had a litter and will have a puppy for us to take home in early October.
Considering my due date of 9/13, we decided to decline the puppy and go back on the waiting list for another litter. Part of me thinks that we could have handled a baby and a puppy at the same time, the other part of me says it would have been nuts.

I'm inclined to say it would have been nuts. You have no idea what the temperament of your baby will be like and how that's going to work out, to then throw in a puppy that needs a lot of dedicated time, too, would be a lot. Do you really want to have to worry about taking a puppy out in the motn when you're already limited on sleep? (Or for that matter any time of the day....you sleep when you can!) I think you made the right choice
@MrsVoorhees (I love this convo right now btwn you me and kimmy Schmidt by the way). We have planned out details, but I'm honestly going into this with low expectations bc it's her first time. I'm bringing my own camera so DH can step in again just in case. Kinda flying by the seat of my pants on this one as I was originally on the fence about having a photographer to begin with. Thanks for the tips though!
@asht Yes, I have had two bostons in the past (thus why I like them so much). As a breed they are quite easy and so well tempered. However, with this being our first child, we thought similar to @diagonalley about not knowing what to expect, temperament, our time, etc.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed but we feel like we made the best choice at the moment. We are top of the list for the next litter slated for early 2017 so we'll see if it might be a better fit then.
@geminigirl16 We too are thinking of getting another dog (another doodle). I worried about the work it would place on me (DH is great but....you know) so we are waiting until Fin is almost one. Next summer we will have two doodles and a Fin!
I totally get where you are coming from @mom2adoodle. We kind of figured it would be easier to undertake a puppy once we had a few months of getting used to a baby. How is your dog adjusting to Fin?

Perfect! You're only paying her $50. It's a little more serious when you've shelled out $1,500. I think bringing your own camera just in case and not being too disappointed if she doesn't show is a good plan!
despite having help here I've been a total emotional mess this morning
d was up from 1145-330am because of my asshole neighbors backyard party. Then up at 630 bc of a thunderstorm. I broke down sobbing at 3am because the thought of throwing a baby plus night feedings into this mess is overwhelming.
The lack of sleep, and probably lack of water lead to a severe migraine I can't get rid of.
Plus, my dog won't stop humping me. Literally, every chance she gets she just hops on me. What is it with this house?!?
Eta: hope everyone's day is less shitty than mine.

Holy shitsnacks, do people really pay $1500 for a birth photog??? That's how much I paid my wedding photographer!!! I have a lovely friend doing my maternity, labour and newborn shots for $500, and that was still a little steep...

Does anyone have experience with their LOs reacting adversely to what they eat via breast milk? Sometimes I wonder if I'm causing Fin's gas...
