  • Im posting on here instead of starting a new thread. I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and I've been feeling the rolling sensation for about a week and a half now, pretty consistently at night time. He's been really active at night when I go to bed. But last night, I didn't feel anything. And I haven't felt much this morning either. Of course my PGAL brain is kicking in and I'm sitting at work crying my eyes out. I do have an AP but it's weird because I have been feeling him move so much! I think my horomones are just making me go crazy. Anyone have any STM experience with this?
  • @gigemily09 I'm not a STM, but I kinda went through this same thing yesterday. I always feel him here and there, but yesterday evening I was thinking to myself, "I don't think I've felt him all day, that's so weird!" And then a couple minutes later there he was.

Maybe he was just particularly sleepy yesterday? You might want to try eating/drinking something sugary or caffeinated to try to jump start him a bit to make yourself feel better. (Disclaimer: I have no idea if that's good advice or not, in fact it kinda sounds bad, but I've found that it works, haha)
  • @gigemily09 & @Lisa3379: I'm also a FTM, but I went through this Sunday/Monday. Like Lisa, I realized at the end of the day that I hadn't really felt LO move much Sunday and totally freaked myself out. I even then had a dream about losing a baby (like misplaced lost, not miscarried lost) so I spent the Monday morning feeling pretty crappy mentally, but she moved around a lot of Monday and being at work too my mind off my fears.  But since then I've felt her even more than usual. Perhaps he was going through a growth spurt and feeling tired.

  • I've been kinda worried because I haven't felt the babies move very much the last few days...like for a few days maybe I didn't feel them at all? Then I freak out and stress even more =( Everything I've read though says until 28 weeks movement is pretty unpredictable. I have an appointment Friday. I'm sure everything is fine...I mean, I've seen them move on the ultrasound and not felt it. It just freaks me out!

  • In the same boat. Some days bubba won't stop moving. Others he seems pretty chill and I can't remember the last time I felt him. Usually I just drink some ice water and sit with my knees up/middle bent. He doesn't seem to like that and it usually makes me move. Mean? Probably. But it makes me feel better.
  • I've found that pissing my spawn off (accidentally of course) by wearing a tight-ish waistband or one that gets tighter upon sitting tends to get a lot of movement out of her. Just like I'm fighting to do all of my normal movements with their usual ranges, I think she's fighting to not be uber cramped in her little bubble. So she'll punch me when I annoy her.

  • I read somewhere that sometimes a baby will be quiet in the womb while its going through a growth spurt.

I usually feel A move a bunch now, but the other day I felt zip. Nada. Zero. I was getting kind of concerned, so I poked him and finally he was like, "Lady. I'm chillin'. Calm yo bed." Then he kicked the hell out of me all night. So, yeah.
  • I've had the tight pants thing happen, I think. Unless it was gas lol. But I kinda feel like what I'm feeling is consistent enough, that it can't be gas. I also read at this stage they sleep 12-14 hours a day. Plus I'm not exactly skinny. I dunno. Still freaks me out!

  • I have an anterior placenta and will be 25 weeks on Friday.. and just within the last few days I have been able to feel him move pretty consistently when he's awake and even from the outside! I was getting so impatient.
  • Baby could have also repositioned themselves to where you don't feel them move as strongly as you were feeling them. I've noticed Rhett likes to change positions a lot so every day, sometimes even hours apart, he'll be kicking in a new spot. And if he's kicking my side, it's not as noticeable as when he would kick my belly. Even if he's kicking my belly, the lower he's kicking, the more noticeable it is. My OB said some people feel baby as early as 16 weeks but that you don't usually feel "consistent" movement until 25 weeks, so hang in there! :)
  • I've been experiencing the same thing and have been freaking out. I haven't felt much movement at all the past two days. I just hope it gets back to normal soon.

Also, I'm convinced this little guy has performance anxiety. I've felt him move a few times from the outside on accident. Like if an arm just happened to be touching my stomach. But as soon as I or FI put a hand on my belly to feel him...nothing. Frozen. Remove the hand, and wiggle abound. Come one dude! Let your dad feel you!
  • Good to see this thread reincarnated. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow, with an anterior placenta. I think I've been starting to feel the baby, but it's super, super inconsistent. I want MOAR BABY MOVEMENTS!!

  • It is a relief to hear that you ladies are all experiencing the same thing.  There are days where I swear my girl is trying to bust out Alien style and then she will go days with very little movement and I start to get a little anxious.  She also doesn't respond to any of the "tricks" - drinking cold water, eating sweets, etc.
  • Good lord this child! Squish hasn't been very active the past several days. I learned my lesson last time and have not gone after the sweet tea. I'll get a flutter or kick every so often, but last night? Started with Squish kicking my stomach so hard that my bottle of Gatorade I had resting there fell over (DH even looked over at me as was like, was that the baby!?). Then went to bed and this child continued to move! Left side, right side, diaphragm, pelvis. It was unreal! I told DH this morning and he said baby was starting to take after me. So for those of you who aren't feeling those babies move very often, just wait for it. They are just taking their time until we least suspect it...

  • Y'all are so awesome and making a girl feel reassured! I'm so glad everyone is going through the same emotional rollercoaster. I'm guessing he's changed positions and now I can't feel him as much. At my A/S a couple weeks ago he was laying transverse so maybe he moved to how he's supposed to be and I can't feel him as much. I'm getting to the point where I'm ready for it to be December already! I just want a healthy baby in my arms!
