Re: **First Trimester Check In- Week of August 15th** (New leader needed!)
Whoops forgot QOTW! Of course all we want is a healthy baby but I would love to have a little girl. I have a feeling I am having a boy though and that will be so wonderful as well.
QOTW: I have had a feeling I'm having a girl since the very beginning. Most of the old wives tales point to girl too. It honestly doesn't matter to me either way, as long as I have a healthy baby. But I will be honest, the thought of a girl teenager frightens me!
I hope everyone has a great week!!!!!!!

Qotw: I think I'm having a girl. My grandmother's name was Amelia and since DH and I are both A names we always said we would keep it up w our kids and our #1 girls name is Amelia. After my last stims check I turned the radio on in the car and the first caller was Amelia, later that day my book introduced a new carachter Amelia. Two days later at my ER the patient called ahead of me was Amelia and then the next day on FB a video plays and the girls name is Amelia. I'm taking this as a sign that I'm having a little girl. If not its just a crazy coincidence.
QOTW Unless there was a mixup at the lab, DH and I are having a boy! We are both very excited and everyone has been telling me how easy they are. I'm not sure I believe it. We have two girls waiting for us, so our boy won't be the only child for too long.

Due date = 4/9/17
Delivery date = 3/20/17
QOTW: we had PGS testing and transferred our only 2 genetically normal embryos, both girls, so the real question for us is, is it 1 or 2?
first RE visit 11/15, me - blocked left tube and Low AMH, DH - low count, motility not great

7/16 attempt to retest inconclusive - didn't survive thaw
8/16 transfer day 8/1: 2 5AB hatching blasts, beta 8/10 = 250!!, beta #2 8/12 = 572, ultrasound on 8/24...TWINS!
It figures that after I post my excitement over the upcoming weeks I would get an unsettling phone call. Apparently the first trimester screening came back abnormal and we are at an increased risk for Down Syndrome. The normal ratio is 1 in 311, and we are 1 in 119. Still a less than 1% chance, the NT measurement wasn't abnormal (2.4) and the nasal bone was present. I'm trying to take all of these as a good sign, but it's hard not to panic. I mean... didn't we go through enough to get here? Shouldn't it be easy now? So unfair. So, I'm off for genetic testing on Thursday. Fx all comes back normal.
Anyone else have experience with this?

Welcome @ale9687 and @Happydays13!
We had our first OB office appt (omg, the land of the fertiles!) last week and baby was measuring ahead and moving his/her little arms and legs. We got to hear the heartbeat which was such a sweet sound. I'm doing pretty well, although extreme exhaustion and nausea combined with hunger/food aversions knocked me out yesterday. I've also been really, really hot! No fever, so I guess that's good. Anyone else notice their symptoms get slightly worse around 8-9 weeks?
I'm jealous of all of you who found out the sex during PGD. We did it too but the RE told us we'd been through enough and that she wanted us to have a surprise to look forward to. I do grumble a bit knowing that there's a paper out there that *says the information*. Grumble.
QOTW: I have dreams of both. At first my feeling was girl but as time goes on I'm feeling boy... Wives tales suggest both boy and girl, so no help there!

Surprise pregnancy!! Baby #2 due 10/11/18
Had my 2nd u/s and have now graduated on to visiting my OB/GYN now! Another hurdle jumped. Baby is measuring on schedule at 8 weeks exactly. Heartbeat was so nice to hear. 170bpm. I'm over the moon and can't wait to visit the OB in 2 weeks.
qotw: I think I'm having a boy. I've called it a "him" accidentally not thinking really and now I feel like it was a Freudian slip.
@chicandbubbly - I feel like you're having a girl with all that nausea you've been having.
@ale9687, @babylonghorn16, @Happydays13 - welcome and congrats!
@NurseTMD85- congrats and Yay! Boo on the genetic testing. I had it done with my first baby and it was nerve racking but reassuring. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you and baby!! Keep breathing and say a prayer (if you're into that).

@scooteriste You're a few days ahead of me, but symptoms have definitely been worse the past week. Other posters say it eases up around weeks 11 or 12 and then they felt human again. We're so close!

@frustrated and ttc - if we do end up with two in there, I'll need some advice, since this is your second time around...congrats!!
@pdbird - that is a precious looking bean you have, so glad you're moving on from the RE - another milestone!
@yelllow22 - know what you mean about hating symptoms but super happy...I am way behind you but the even screwier thing is that the nausea, fatigue, even sore boobs have been better the last couple of days (so of course I am wishing them back LOL). This stuff really messes with your mind!
@babylonghorn16 - nice to see you over here :-) sorry you're symptoms are so rough...but maybe it is a girl!
@NurseTMD85 - I know this news is scary but I have had 3 friends that got the same news and now have happy healthy genetically normal kids....so don't stress too much (and I almost didn't type that, because I know it's easier said than done...just hope it gives you comfort.)
AFM - went to have estradiol level today (I got a bad rash/reaction from the estradiol patches (4 every other day) so they took me off them and added twice a day oral estrace plus the one vaginally a day) and it was where they wanted it, so next appointment is in 8 days for our first ultrasound....that seems like an eternity, especially after the every day/every other day visits for so long. This wait may be the worst one yet!

@frustrated and ttc omg twins! How many did you put in? Sorry if you said already.
@mrygoround welcome!
@ale9687 We put two in but one Embryo was a low quality. My RE didn't give it much hope but said it's still possible. I guess he was right! My beta levels weren't super high like they were the last time with my twins so I thought for sure there was only going to be one. HA!
@Happydays13 CONGRATS! And I'm happy to hand out any advice. Make sure to let us know if you'll need it!
@frustrated and ttc Congrats on your second set of twins! That is so cool. One of my friends has this family at church with three sets of twins from IVF! So crazy! Were your first twins IVF babies too?
@babylonghorn16 Sooo happy to see you here! Definitely TMI but I have had the bowel issues as well.. lately I have been so constipated which sometimes causes cramps. In the beginning I had the opposite issue. I think it is normal!
@frustrated and ttc Congrats, 2 sets of twins that is amazing what a blessing!! My friend has a family at her church that has three sets of twins from IVF! How old are your other twins and g/b's?
@mygoround Congrats on your baby girl. How exciting!
@happydays13 Welcome and congrats on your little girl(s)!
@pdbird congrats on moving on from RE! It feels surreal
@nursetmd85 I am so sorry you are having to worry. I hope you get good news soon! Thinking of you
@scooteriste I would definitely say my symptoms were the worst at 9 weeks.
@mrygoround - Welcome! We have the same EDD and at the same spot. I hope to ask my OB for the PGS when I see him in 2 weeks.
Has anyone done the CVS test?! I'd be too nervous for it to cause a miscarriage and wondering if anyone else had experienced it.

@babylonghorn16 Welcome! So happy to see you here!!!! In case you read this board first... AF cramps are normal, although they can be unsettling. I had them for several weeks in the beginning. Digestion issues are also normal. Everything in your body is changing and this causes diarrhea in some ladies and constipation in others, like myself. It's hard not to worry, but you'll feel a lot calmer after that first ultrasound.
@pdbird Happy graduation! Amnio and CVS will be options for me to know definitely if the baby has Down Syndrome. DH and I decided against both due to the MC risk. Knowing won't change anything, so we'll see what the blood work says and then we wait. After going through everything to get here, it just seems like an unnecessary risk considering the risk for Downs is less than 1%.
@frustrated and ttc Congrats!!!!!!!! I had two friends with twins that had one baby that was significantly smaller. I wouldn't worry too much
