Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 8/15

  • We'll somebody's gotta start this...

Swollen ankles at the end of the day, full on waddle, and slight limp due to pelvic spasms. General soreness has slowed me down, not to mention bug bites from spending a weekend camping in MN.

I feel like it could be worse though, at least I can still sleep! (**knocks on wood**)

  • +1 to the puffy ankles. They just feel so uncomfortable and disgusting in this heat!! Having trouble sleeping as it's hard to find a comfortable position. Heartburn is pretty bad after eating. Itchy stomach. The start of stretch marks. Exhaustion.

I guess all of these symptoms are supposed to motivate us to be ready for labor...but still...ugh!!

  • Heartburn is out of control today!!
  • I can see his appendages protruding beneath my skin when he's kicking and stretching out... like, those are 100% feet, elbows, etc...
Yes! You know it's getting close when this happens. It's so freaky but so cool at the same time.

  • Baby is doing somersaults right now and it's making me nauseous.  :#

I feel like a crazy person. My emotions are just so heightened.

@emmaa I had a meltdown in the middle of BBB Saturday. DH was being a butt-head & I just got SO overwhelmed with trying to figure out what we are going to need and the fact that holy crap I will be sprouting a human in approximately two months...it was all just too much & I completely lost it. Not cool...
  • I'm not sure which thread to post this is in, but baby was grinding his shoulder into my pelvis (a new favorite hobby) and got my nerve (HOLY OUCH) BUT! When I shoved my hand in there to get him away I cupped his back and I FELT HIS HEARTBEAT   3  3  3
Dude, this creeps me out. lol

My new symptom: I feel super nauseated every time I eat. But I know that I'm not full yet because the hunger is still there too....so conflicted.

@Kaessi I totally feel you on that! DH and I argues like all day Saturday and a lot of it was because I just feel so overwhelmed and on the verge of tears. Sometimes I feel like DH doesn't even try to understand what all I'm going through and he looks at me like I'm insane because of course he can't  understand how I feel because he can't be pregnant and doesn't deal with crazy hormones. But basically I just want him to be understanding when I act irrational. I don't know, reading that back to myself just confirms how crazy I feel sometimes lol

  • Kind of related to feeling weird baby movements, this baby has been getting the hiccups like crazy! I first noticed it about 4-5 days ago, and now I feel like it's been happening every day since. Such a weird sensation!

  • I was sent to the hospital over the weekend for contractions and tested positive on the fetal fibronectin test. Went in for my regular RPV today and did my glucose test. I also got my Tdap and a steroid shot. I have to go back tomorrow for my second steroid shot. This little dude better stay put!

  • +1 one the puffy feet and lack of comfortable sleep. I wake constantly and my body just aches from being in that position so I move to the other side and then wake up again uncomfortable. I am debating on trying the recliner sleep.

+1 for an emotional mess. DH left to visit family out of the country on Saturday. We were at Home Depot and I had to leave to go out of town from there, so I had to say goodbye to him in the store. I lost it and was sobbing. I definitely don't like him traveling right now - too much anxiety. And, I think a big part of it was I knew DS was going to miss him. So, then I had to walk from the back of Home Depot all the way out to my car with tears streaming down my face. That was awkward.

Also, as usual: MAJOR tailbone pain. I want to cry at my desk right now.

  • @F47 Awe man =( ::hugs::
  • Another week for swollen feet and ankles that are officially leg stubs with toes.  Even hubby noticed them yesterday and I'm sure he doesn't notice anything unless it's attached to his wiener!

@AllyTheKid as weird as this is going to sound, I can't wait to start seeing the bulges and know what limb is pushing - not sure it will happen due to me being plus size, but I'm hoping!

@F47 :( when does he get back?

  • For the past few days, under my bump has been super achey when I'm standing up. It's low, so I'm kind of worried it could be my bladder but I don't have any other bladder infection symptoms and it doesn't hurt while sitting or laying down. Thinking it may just be growing pains and the weight of LO,  hoping it's not constant soreness til the end :/
  • +1 for the emotional roller coasters and the random limbs pushing through my stomach. Add on some nasty pain in my sacrum, raging heartburn despite all the zantac, and waking at least 10 times per night and I'm just a hot mess!

  • THE HEARTBURN is awful. Zantac is my bff.
Also I agree with the emotions! I want to rage at strangers who are being dumb and cry at everything else. Especially at my husband. Every time I go to work I cry or get very close because I work nights and don't get to sleep in bed with him.

Based on what you're describing, most likely growing pains. Mine lasted for a week or so then went away.... Then came back another time. But it's temporary so hang in there :)

After my fall yesterday... I'm going with bad balance, sore knee, carpal tunnel, heartburn like a bitch, and lack of sleep. Other than that, feeling pretty good!! Loving all the movement, he was so active last night, I was able to record him moving all over the place! Honestly it could all be so much worse. Knocking on wood that things stay the way they are for the next 10 weeks. Ha, who am I kidding.

To be completely honest it was VERY weird. I wasn't 100% sure I was feeling what I thought I was feeling so I made DH feel it, too. So I had his hand inside my pelvis cupping our baby. Suffice to say we have reached a new level of intimacy ;)

Also, count me in for being an emotional wreck and odd pains everywhere.

  • As if sleep doesn't suck already, Braxton Hicks contractions woke me up 3 times last night. They were semi painful. Then made me have to pee.

Whoa, sorry if this is pregnancy brain making me slow to catch on to the logistics...how did you shove your hand (and H's) in there to touch the baby's back and feel the heartbeat?!
  • @UponAStar16 Water and ice give me the worst heartburn!
  • @kmyers228 I described this exact same thing to my doctor last appt and she suggest a maternity belt. Instant relief. You might want to try it if it persists.

+1...woke up last night with BH too. They seem to be getting more painful. My back has also been really sore so it's aggravating that too. I almost feel like I'm getting my period, super achy and crampy everywhere.

  • My new favorite is "look mom, I can turn my head from side to side!" It's pretty safe to say she's head down since I can feel her head grinding on my cervix several times a day. It's pretty cringe worthy.

  • @f47 hope your husband's trip flies by and your kiddo treats you well while he's gone.  That anxiety is not fun.

I'm with everyone on the out of control emotions.  I keep almost crying for no good reason.  Yesterday, I almost started crying while reading an article about how terribly Gabby Douglas was treated on social media.  And again when I was listening to The Longest Shortest Time episode about the woman who reluctantly ate her encapsulated placenta because her friend thought it would prevent postpartum depression.  And then I actually started considering doing that despite the fact that there are no scientific studies on the practice.  Sigh.  Totally irrational.

And @emmaaa I totally get what you mean about wanting your husband to understand why you're acting irrationally.  I sometimes tell my husband "I get that I'm acting crazy, but you arguing with me is just making it worse!"
  • +1 for stranger rage. In Old Navy on Sunday, buying a maxi dress and the checkout girl goes "you know this is maternity?" UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I DON'T JUST HAVE A GIANT FAT BELLY, BITCH. I responded with "I guess it's a good thing I'm 8 months pregnant".

Also, staring. Usually it's creepy guys. I'm usually pretty oblivious when guys stare when I'm not pregnant, but when I am pregnant it takes it to a whole 'nother level of creepy. I actually said "Can I help you?" to a guy in Target who just walked away. Annoying.

I'm worried that baby is still transverse. My doctor doesn't seem concerned but I've been reading some stuff about it. I'm worried it's impacting her growth. I've never felts her in my ribs or pelvis. Usually around my belly button. I have an appointment Thursday and another ultrasound next week to check her again, so I guess I'll ask and learn more then.

Girl no, I find nothing crazy about this! Just a bit of empathy from them at times would go such a long way...and is not too much to ask for!! (In my opinion)
