I think I might try a paci tonight, the best nights sleep so far was the second in the hospital when she had the paci. She did ok last night (first night home), but wondering if she'd go a little longer with a paci. Might give it a try.... Our son used a paci but I can't remember when we started. He never had any issues with nursing or taking a bottle.
I used a paci for sleep with my older DD for 18 months and exclusively nursed her for 13 months successfully, the nurse in the hospital told me that they're not recommended anymore for nursing babies also because I brought one from home this time...which was fine I said okay thank you, she then started rambling about how she had breastfed her two kids 3 & 1 or so for 13 months each...I'm not confrontational, and I'll listen to anyone's suggestions, but then I get to make the call what to do. When she changed over shifts with the next nurse they "hand off" what they did in front of you, she said "and I told her about using a pacifier" super snarky and gave me a dirty look.
My pediatrician told me pacifiers don't cause nipple confusion and that bottles do, kind of. It's more a thing that they prefer a bottle because it's faster.

I heard from my NICU nurses that studies have shown pacifiers reduce risk of SIDS @jamiesc58
They gave pacis to A in the NICU and I had zero problems with it. She self regulates when she takes pacis. Usually when she's hungry, she tells us by spitting out her paci that what she really wants is some boob action (duh, mom).

That was the main reasoning I got is that I would miss hunger cues...if this baby is hungry, no pacifier is going near her mouth, she definitely lets you know what she wants lol
