I've been staying up later at night to watch things/bump/FB/read because my mom comes during the days and I know I can take a nap. It will all end very soon, so I don't feel guilty about it.
I'm over all the "why didn't I get in on the FB group" posts. Quit whining like a baby and get over it. Post more than just HDBD and provide advice and hugs to those who need it. Ugh
I just realized I hate that DD is in school. Yesterday was exciting, but it just dawned on me that I now have to get up, wake the baby up, put on pants and a bra before 8a.m., and leave my house every weekday morning again...
Sorority Rush is starting and it makes me want to go back to college so bad, no matter how many years go by. I am a weirdo and loved everything about rush and sorority life.

I haven't even opened that thread because of this.
My confession: I have watched 4 and a half seasons of X-Files in like 3 weeks. I have no shame and I'm obsessed and I'm actually really pissy that I have to work in the office today and can't binge watch.

@AllyTheKid Ugh, this is what I'm dreading. I'm not ready to have to get up, stay on my kid to eat her breakfast, get dressed and get out the door before 7:30.

Ditto and I'm dreading fighting with my dd everyday (well every other as she's only in preschool) about her hair. It is a constant struggle when we have to go out, but most days she's with me or my mom so I don't put up a fight but she can.not. Go to school like that!!
@MRSCORKER X-Files used to be my JAM when I was younger! I had one friend who was obsessed with it with me. Then, when the first movie came out, I kind of lost most of my interest. But my DH liked it too, so we watched the little mini-season they did at the beginning of the year this year.
My Dr told me not to take alka seltzer, and to try tums instead. I switched to alka seltzer in the first place because tums were starting to gross me out and I LOVE those chewy alka seltzers! Well I figured out they say no due to the aspirin that is in Original Alka Seltzer. But my type (chewy heartburn relief) only has calcium carb in it. So I'm still going to take them. They are my saving grace from this wicked heartburn!

@MRSCORKER - The X-Files may be my favorite show of all time. Mulder and Scully forever. NO shame in binge watching that!
My FFFC: When DH calls his parents, he says he's going to "call home," and it bugs the ever living crap out of me every time. I ADORE my in-laws. We have an amazing relationship. But DH has a much closer relationship with his parents than I have with mine, and when he references "calling home," I want to be like "your home is here!!!" It just strikes me as a LITTLE bit of a "mama's boy" tick. It's such a tiny thing, I know, and I am SO grateful to have such a wonderful relationship with my ILs, but still -- the "calling home" thing drives me nuts.

PS... That forehead kiss basically broke my heart. Just watched that episode last night. I also have a MAJOR girl crush on Gillian Anderson right now. I'm not sure if it's all these hormones or what but I watched The Fall before starting X-Files and I can't decide if I want to be her or marry her.

I wouldn't like that very much either, @simcal18. Now that I'm having a little boy, though, I have to ease up my thinking on some of my husband's interactions with his mom...someday that will be me!
That would rub me the wrong way, too, @simcal18. He's a dude, so I'm sure there's no deeper meaning to it- it's probably just what he's used to saying- but still.
I am a FTM and I have this crazy fear that I'm going to have a 12 pound baby. I been excessively googling big baby birth related topics which has been causing me tremendous amounts of anxiety. I'm annoying the crap out of my husband with my constant irrational fears/thoughts about birthing a giant baby. Note to self: do not google image: "third degree labor tears".
@AllyTheKid I am a teacher and I've also been summer spoiled. I am so not looking forward to the week after next when I have to go back to teaching a full school day. I so am not ready to wake up early, put a bra on, and attempt to make myself look presentable all week long.
@MRSCORKER I love love love X-Files! If you're into X-Files & like sifi you should try "Stranger Things" on Netflix. DH and I finished the whole first season in a day. It's that good.
@kamroberts I have the same fears and have googled tears and cuts. I still feel like I am going to have a huge baby and I won't get the newborn cuddles.
I really wish pregnancy issues weren't so taboo. Now that I am experiencing a scary scenario, I wish it was just something people knew more about. I am extremely grateful and happy that my baby is growing and doing well. But I am sick of people telling me that's all that matters. I'm concerned/scared shitless about the complications that I can experience during delivery but I feel like I am not allowed to express those concerns without looking like a selfish person.
Edit: I also wish people like the loathed Kim Kardashian used her platform to talk about the issues she clearly suffered with her pregnancy with North. She could have done a lot to create awareness of preeclampsia and in turn other pregnancy related issues.
@kamroberts my H was a 10 lb baby (I should note he is not a big guy now), but he and I havent stopped talking about how big we think this baby will be. I just know he will be huge and that terrifies me. I keep mentioning to my doctor too in hopes that if he gets to like 8 lbs we can move this along lol
@mizzkbrat@UFJen I started a birth preparation board on Pinterest & have found some really helpful birth affirmations about my fears about having a huge baby. Here's two of my favorites❤️ Maybe they will help you guys as well. Big baby fear is real, but we've just gotta remind ourselves that our bodies are meant to do this & that everything will happen how it is supposed to happen.
@kamroberts I did watch Stranger Things and liked it. Then I watched The Fall. After that I was in a Gillian Anderson/Sci-Fi mood so X-Files was the only logical choice.

@kamroberts@mizzkbrat huge fear of mine too. My first baby always measured a little behind and I still had tear/episiotomy. This guy is a chunker and measured over 2.5 pounds at my last ultrasound at 24 weeks. I'm sure we can do this. They added 10 days to my due date based on 12 week scan (due October 10th but I was October 1st based on LMP). I'm hoping that I'm actually due sometime in between those two dates and that's why he seems so big on the subsequent ultrasounds. I'm really nervous about it.
Yesterday we celebrated DH's grandma's birthday. We brought the cake and the entire dinner I was secretly praying everyone was too full to eat it. God answered my prayer and that cake went home with me. I stole an little, old Korean lady's birthday cake and it was so good after my 2 am pee session.
@kamroberts@mizzkbrat@MKJeffrey2002 I am with y'all on the bigger baby fears even though we appear to be measuring normally and right on track. All the men in both our families have been on the larger side and my MIL loves to point out how DH never fit into newborn clothes or diapers and stuff like that. Thank you, but that really doesn't help me feel any better. I wish she would stop with the comments. (She also makes comments about how hyper DH was and how much trouble he got into so I'm just in for it. Never taking into account that he was also a severe asthmatic as a child and basically was on speed 3x a day...) ugh.....More MIL complaints, sorry y'all!

@AllyTheKid I feel ya. Mine starts school next week and I've legit been dreading it since I found out I was pregnant. Because not only do I have to deal with getting a hormonal preteen up and ready to go, and a 2 year old that finally wants to sleep past whatever time the sun comes up, now we're going to be adding a newborn and a zombie mom to the mix soon. I don't wannaaaaaa!
@ibabyloveb87 My MIL makes the exact same comments to me about my baby! I can totally relate to how you're feeling. It is so annoying! My DH is 6'5 and I'm 5'11, so I'm expecting a big baby but I really don't need my MIL to point out all the time how this baby isn't going to fit into any newborn clothes and how he's going to be 10 pounds. I just hope this baby will fit into a few newborn outfits for at least the first week or so, so I can be like "told you so" to my MIL.
I just thought of my FFFC while in Friday ticker change lol. I couldn't care less about the Olympics. I don't watch any of it and I probably wouldn't notice if it never happened again.
More of a confession of ignorance...When I first came to the boards, I had read through the commonly used acronyms, but hadn't memorized them, and I didn't frequent baby or TTC boards previously. I figured I'd just go by context clues. Anyway I spent the first few weeks thinking that FTM meant female-to-male, and thinking wow we are an awesome progressive and diverse group. It wasn't until STM popped up that I looked it up and the light bulb went off. duh I also though AMA meant against medical advice, and was wondering why so many doctors were telling people not to have babies.
@chriscasey33 I've been bumping for almost 2 years and still don't know all the acronyms haha Is there a master list I am missing somewhere because I'm mobile?
I'm having a c-section and I'm still worried about having a big baby. DD was 7 pounds 12 ounces, so not super big at all. This baby is measuring very big and I've stopped buying newborn-sized clothes, because I'm worried she won't be able to wear them.
Eh, my husband was over 10 pounds when he was bored and I was 7 pounds, 4 oz. My daughter was 8 pounds, 2 oz and I suspect this guy will be closer to 9. I'm still not overly worried about it, BUT I'm having a csection, so that's probably why. The thought of pushing a large baby through my v would probably terrify me too. I'm sure your babies will all be average sized!
I have ZERO patience lately with anyone and anything. My lovely attitude has been on point and I can't even stand myself most days. And I literally just called my Dr office to find out if I passed my glucose testing or not. It was Tuesday... Now I have to wait again for the nurse to call back. Growing old here! So annoyed and I know I shouldn't be.

@sportiegrl1213 does your office have an online portal? I can see all my test results, upcoming appointments and request prescription refills through the portal! Might be worth checking out.
Also- our office does the no news is good news thing- so they only call if your result is something they need to discuss with you. But if your office doesn't do that then I would be super annoyed.
My confession: I'm super procrastinating at work right now. I got done everything that needed done today, and nothing else is time sensitive. Also, my boss isn't here today.
But I'm also a big nerd, so I use downtime at work to go on Facebook and the Bump, but also to watch short documentary-type vids on YouTube, or to read political/scientific/social articles, and to read books.
Today I'm reading a book about aggression in girls. So. I'm basically just a lump at work today.
@serenaxo84 I checked my online profile and nothing was updated and my cousin has the same Dr and she told me they called her, BUT she failed, so maybe I'm good. But it would be nice to know either way. I just need to chill lately.

@nlane0723 I mean, I would have done the same thing. If she wanted her cake for later, she should have spoken up...just sayin.
@sportiegrl1213 I went on a Tuesday specifically so I could find out if I passed before the weekend started (they always say 2-3 day turnaround time). I checked online though and got the news at 3:45pm! However, my results said they'd been sent to the doctor on Wednesday, so your doc should definitely have them by now! And, I never got a call either (I passed), so hopefully they only call you if it's bad news. I hope you get good news before your weekend starts!!
Also @bamacoop - I, too, am procrastinating at work today. Though I feel like that's been my situation at work the last 6 weeks or so. I just want to go home and nest and do baby things! So I fill my days with a little work, then lots of FB, Bumping and baby Pinteresting...then a little more work and the cycle continues. Somehow I fill 8 hours very easily...
