  • @mizzkbrat That is awful ;( I wouldn't hit the panic button until there are details about how it was contracted though- where had the mother traveled? Her partner? Things of that nature.

Failed my one hour glucose test this morning. They wanted me in for the 3-hr late this week or early next. Of course, they don't have an appointment until Wednesday next week.

My level was 136 and needs to be under 135! Wah!

With DS I failed the 1 hour, but passed with 3 hour with flying colors. Realllllly hoping that's the same this time around. But, wish I didn't have to go through it. I am not a needles person.

  • @mizzkbrat I just read an article about that & cried. So super sad.
  • @F47 I bet you'll pass your 3 hour since you were only off by one point, Good luck next week!

The mom traveled to some tropics place so that is where she got it.

I was being sarcastic about the posting thing. Probably too soon to be sarcastic but I'm in a weird mood today. Flame me!
  • @bnsmith85 Thinking of you and the pup today! Let us know how it goes!

@mizzkbrat That is so sad :(

  • @mizzkbrat, just read up on the Zika case in Houston.  It's so sad. :(:(@AllyTheKid, it said the mom had recently traveled to Latin America...so, there's the reason. :(

@F47, I hope you pass your test!  I bet you will!  This was just a one off!
  • @mizzkbrat I should have known better, forgive my brain. It's been a long day already! I am in Literal Linda mode about everything :|
  • @AllyTheKid  no worries. You have a lot to worry about! Smooches!
  • I'm getting super excited and antsy to meet this baby. Yet I'm crying at DH because the nursery isn't done. So many feels today.

We haven't even started our nursery! I have days where I'm panicked about it, but my husband tells me he will get it done, so we'll see.

  • I spent yesterday just feeling completely overwhelmed... Next week the school year starts and I was moved to a new building. So, on top of trying to finish the nursery I am also setting up a classroom and ofcourse can't do a lot of the lifting. Thank goodness for DH and his days off!
  • @mizzkbrat I hadn't heard about that yet but now I *am* freaked out. I'm so mad. People should have just stopped traveling. This mum may have put herself in danger, but I'm pissed that people keep traveling and not caring because it's not really going to hurt them any. What about my baby? Only two months to go and luckily I haven't seen any mosquitoes in quite a while... here's hoping it stays that way.

@nlane0723 I keep wondering how I'll love another baby as much as DS. In my logical mind, I know I will. But, it just seems hard to fathom. Totally normal feeling, I think.

  • Really good point re: need vs want @CopperBoom86. Should I freak out about all the stuff we need down the road, can you remind me of this? Lol... But really...

@F47 damn it! I'd be begging for a get out of jail free card with your history and being just one little number off!

@annabenanna soooo we'll be delivering at the same hospital then hahah... Maybe they'll just bring a bottle for us to split ;)

I understand you're worried, but this isn't a reasonable attitude.  People *must* travel for many reasons-they may need to travel for work, or for personal reasons.  I'm certainly not going to tell someone they can't travel because of a very low risk of a virus if, say, it's a "save the company" trip, or if they want to visit a parent before they die, or if their loved one needs them.  One person's needs/wishes aren't inherently superior to another's.  And if you take reasonable precautions, your risk of contracting Zika in the US is extraordinarily low-lower than getting into a car accident, or experiencing other pregnancy complications.

That would be so awesome @bnsmith85 .  Hahaha.  But in reality, @SpaceBurger and I may end up at the same hospital at the same time.  Isn't that cray cray?
  • @brzvice - Jealous! I've been squeezing every night before bed and still nothing ::pout::

  • @nlane0723 Recently my daughter has told me a couple of times that she doesn't want the baby to come, which makes me feel guilty, but I think once he gets here and she gets used to him and sees that she will still get plenty of attention, she'll be fine. At least, that's my hope! I know it's a challenge to balance, but I'm hoping we'll all be ok!

  • I'm on the opposite end of being worried about having nothing done, and that's actually making me worried.

As in... me and DH live in an apartment and are getting a house built that will be ready in October or November, but probably November. So we have no nursery to set up. We have bought nothing for the baby. All we have are samples from making registries, and like two onesies. That's literally it. I have two showers this month, but don't plan to get a lot of stuff there. We didn't even register for a crib or pack n' play or anything, and my mom is just like "Where is the baby going to sleep, girl?!?!?!?!"

And I'm just sitting over here like....eh. We'll get there. I'm sure it'll all work out. Way too blasé about the whole thing.

One day I'm going to wake up in a cold sweat and it's all going to hit me at once. Pray for my husband on that day, ladies!

  • @nlane0723 @amye102485 @AllyTheKid I've been stressing about this since we got our BFP. My DD is super excited to be a big sister, but none of us have any idea what this transition will actually be like. I have stress dreams about neglecting her. I know that it's normal to have these concerns, and I know that it will probably be a little rough but will ultimately work out. BUT I'm still going to have anxiety about it for the next 9 weeks or so.
  • @nlane0723 you're not alone! I feel the same way. I'm extremely nervous about how my DS is going to react. He is 2 and I feel like we are very close. I have bought him a few brother and baby books. He knows what a baby is and always points to my belly and says "baby" or tries to lay his head on my belly. But I know he doesn't know or realize what a change this is going to be.
  • @CopperBoom86 The worst part is people are probably going to be side eyeing YOU because she sucks...
    EXACTLY.

Ugh, I want to crawl under a rock and die.

@CopperBoom86 It's like she went on Pinterest and saw that idea and decided to throw it in there! Sheewwwww it'd take a lot of effort for me to not text everyone too!
